Chapter 9 - Alice POV HIM

657 Words
Waking up half naked wasn't exactly the abnormal for someone like me it was fairly common if I thought about it. What was uncommon was waking up alone in a bed without them. I run my fingers along the side of my bed, feeling the coldness betraying that there had never been a partner. My heart squeezes. I sit up, letting the blanket pool around me. However, I did so a little too fast and held my head as I sway, feeling neasuous, and try to remember the end of that night. The bar. Benny. The club. The man. The Man. I remember his cool slate eyes hidden behind his dark curly hair. Feeling the softness of it as I ran my fingers through his hair. I touched my lips where hours ago I had tasted his. I felt parched. I grab my cup from the nightstand and bring its coolness to my lips, enjoying the soothing feel. Fumbling around, I finally find my phone. Without even scrolling, I dial my first contact, Riva. As it rang, I thought back to how big his hands were and how they spread across my waist. He could fit all of me in one hand. Click. "RIVA! I DIDN'T GET HIS NUMBER!" I wail pitifully. She chuckled on the other end, but I really was devastated. To find a guy like that so soon after being burned is 1 in a million. "You didn't, but I did." Riva said cockily. I jump up, shrieking happily, "OMG RIVA! I can't believe you'd be so caring towards me. I'll owe you forever for getting it. Send it to me! I can't believe I've never seen him before. He was so sweet, and the taste of his lips is just -" "OK!" She says upruptly. "He seemed nice. Made sure to stop me so I'd give someone his number as she was too wasted to get it herself." I groaned, remembering why we got wasted to begin with. I just wanted some fun now that the term has finally started, but he just had to ruin it. "I deserve a pass. I just got cheated on." I said it laughingly, but I knew I wasn't fooling her. "Fine, my little drunkard, do you want his number or not?" She teased back. "Yes, send it to me!" She laughed, then hung up. A few minutes later, my phone buzzed with his number. I stared at it, biting my lip. I glance at the clock, then back to his number. 7am probably too early to text I pondered. What if he's waiting for me? With those shots, he was pounding? Doubtful. He could be a good drinker. Even a good drinker isn't up this early if they don't need to be. Even if he was awake. Who's to say he even remembers you? That thought gave me pause. That was always a possibility. I thought of his gaze as he held my face in his hands. It had seemed steady, but then again, who does that with a stranger if they're not wasted. Really, the possibility of him not remembering a thing was actually more likely than any of the other scenarios. When I thought about it, why would I even message him at all. My hands touched my lips, and they felt electrified. I'm just spiraling. I shouldn't jump so soon on one person. I get up and change, sliding on a tight floral dress that clung to my curves and fell just past my ass. I slid on some wooden wedges. Then, having gathered my stuff, I headed out to my car. I throw everything in the backseat except my purse and phone, which I chuck in the seat beside me. The screen was still on showing his number. I delete it. I doubt I'd see him again. It was a fluke. I saw him this time. Then, I drive myself to class.
