Chapter 11- I Think I Need Some Fun

670 Words
An hour later, Riva strolls through the door. She shoves her bag into the corner of the seat and flops down. "God. If Mr. Nidash assigns one more group project, I am going to kill him then myself." Riva says tiredly. Laughing, I say, "How many is this now??" "4," She groaned out. "And each one seems like a worse group than the last." She sat up a little more and gave me a small once over. "You ok?" "Why? Because of Benny. I'm fine. A guy like him is a dime a dozen." I say, unable to hide the bitterness in my voice. Benny wasn't necessarily a dime a dozen. Handsome, good grades, well paying job, and rich parents that match my social status. It seemed like a match made in heaven. Everyone thought we'd tie the knot. Well, I guess I wasn't the only one he was trying to knot with. I stare down at my tea, feeling my eyes sting as I hold back tears. Any big emotion was a disgrace to Geolets. There's no dignity in letting the wolves see your wounds, my mother always said. A leader rises above it. I look up and smile, pushing the unwanted feelings down in their grave where they belong. "He's the one that'll be hurting. His parents haven't been sending him anything for the past six months, so he's practically broke right now. He'll either pay or one of my men will persuade him." Riva took my hand in hers. "He'll pay, or I'll come after him." This brings a real smile to my face. Riva always knew how to make me feel better. "How'd it feel to stab him with your heels?" Riva asked, mischievously wiggling her eyebrows. "Honestly, it's the most satisfying thing I've ever done. You should have heard him scream. It was only a tenth of the grief he caused me. I hope he tries to talk to me again so I can do it a second time." "Aww, I never get to see the good things." Riva whined. We chatted for a while before I went to my first class. As we leave, Riva turns to me and hugs me tight. "It's ok to be sad about this. If you want to talk call me." I hug her tightly back to choked up to reply, so I just nodded. Classes pass by quickly. I trudge through them almost as if sleepwalking, not even registering what was being said. Finally it's the last class. I feel a tap on my shoulder and look back to see Lisa Montague. "Hi!" She she says beamingly. "Hi!" I try to reply back just as enthusiastic. Lisa leans in close to whisper in my ear. "It's Marie Saltor's, and we're all wanting to take her out for a surprise party tonight, you in??" I glance over to where Marie was oblivious to our conversation as she was engrossed in her own with a handsome second year. If anyone knew how to throw a good bas, it was Lisa. She once threw a party for Jillian Cull that was so good it made the papers. S, who better to show me a good time in my time of need? I whisper back excitedly, "Absolutely send me the deets. I am dying for some fun." This went over Lisa's head as I was always looking for fun. It was no secret that I lived a wild lifestyle, but I never went too far with it. I head home and start getting ready for the party. I loved this part. It always made me feel like Cinderella. The sweep of the brush turned me into a princess. As I'm finishing up my makeup, my phone buzzes with a text from Lisa. Lisa : 7 at the fleur de lis I look at the clock. 6:30 right on time, I slid into one of my sexiest dresses and heels. Then, grabbing my purse and keys head to a night I'd never forget.
