Noah Ashford watched Adrian Blake carry Sara in his arms, casually twirling a glass on the table. His brows lifted slightly, and a mischievous smile played on his lips.
Eric Thorne seemed equally surprised. Adrian Blake, who had always kept his distance from women, was now carrying one himself. Even though it was because Sara was drunk, Adrian Blake could have easily found another way if he truly wanted to avoid physical contact.
Lucas Graves, with Xavier Graves slung over his shoulder, looked enviously at Adrian Blake holding Sara with ease. He suddenly felt the urge to dump his “human-sized sack of potatoes” on the floor.
"We're heading out," Adrian Blake said, glancing at the others before turning to leave with Sara Hart in his arms.
Kyle Thorne quickly followed them out.
Watching them leave, Noah Ashford turned to Eric Thorne, a hint of challenge in his smile. "Wanna bet on something?"
"What’s the bet?"
"Whether Adrian will end up falling for real."
Eric Thorne stood up and adjusted his clothes slowly. “Alright, I’ll take that bet.”

On the way to the parking lot, Adrian Blake continued to carry Sara Hart. She shifted slightly in his arms, finding a comfortable position and falling into a deeper sleep.
Adrian Blake stiffened for a moment at her unconscious movement. He glanced down at Sara - her eyes were closed, long lashes casting shadows on her flushed cheeks, making her look quiet and sweet.
She wasn’t the typical rowdy drunk. She just slept quietly.
Kyle Thorne trailed behind them, doing his best to act invisible. But he couldn’t help but steal glances at the two from time to time.
When they finally returned to the old estate, the elderly lady was already asleep. Adrian carried Sara directly to their room.
He pulled back the covers and gently placed her on the bed, then slipped off her shoes.
“Ammmm…” Sara Hart’s voice came out as a soft murmur, her eyes half-open, still dazed.
“What?” Adrian Blake leaned in closer, trying to make out what she was saying, but she had already stopped talking. She just stared at him with wide, glassy eyes.
Adrian Blake straightened up and poured a glass of water, placing it on the bedside table. He tucked the blanket around her and then turned to head to the bathroom.
Suddenly, he felt a tug on his sleeve.
Adrian looked back to see Sara clutching a small piece of his shirt between her fingers.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
“Don’t go…” she whispered, her voice soft and her eyes pleading like a puppy afraid of being abandoned. For a split second, Adrian was reminded of the Pomeranian he had as a child, something inside him loosening unexpectedly.
He stared at her for a few seconds, realizing that she was truly drunk.
“I’m just going to shower.”
But Sara held on stubbornly, her eyes locked on him.
Adrian couldn’t bring himself to pry her fingers off, so he reached for the cup of honey water instead. “Here, have some water.”
Unexpectedly, Sara’s lips trembled, and she looked like she was about to cry. “You’re so mean!”
Adrian Blake froze, his dark eyes widening in surprise, the cup suspended in mid-air.
He had never seen this side of Sara Hart before - one that was a little spoiled, clingy, and prone to sulking.
After a moment of awkwardness, Adrian set the cup back down and sat on the edge of the bed, his expression a mix of confusion and amusement. Thankfully, Sara soon drifted back to sleep.
Adrian gently disentangled her grip from his shirt and let out a quiet sigh of relief.

When Sara Hart awoke the next morning, the sun was already high.
She rubbed her temples, feeling a dull ache, and squinted at the clock. It was already 11:00 AM!
She bolted upright, shocked that she had slept in so late.
As fragments of the previous night’s events gradually came back to her, she remembered following Adrian Blake to the nightclub, playing games, and drinking what she thought were non-alcoholic beverages - only to end up drunk.
Everything beyond that was a blur.
Sara Hart hastily got out of bed, washed up, changed, and hurried downstairs. As she reached the stairs, several people looked up at her simultaneously.
“You’re up, Sara! Feeling okay?” the elderly lady asked with a warm smile.
“I’m fine, Grandma.”
Jimmy Blake, who was playing with his toy car nearby, looked up with innocent curiosity. “You’re the last one up, Sara! We’ve been awake for a long time, and breakfast is already over.”
Sara Hart blushed slightly, feeling a little embarrassed.
She glanced over at Adrian Blake, who was sitting on the sofa, reading a financial magazine with an expression of focused calm.
Just then, Aunt Alice emerged from the kitchen with a cup of honey water. “Young Madam, have some honey water. It’ll help with the hangover.”
Sara Hart took the cup, feeling the warmth seep into her hands. “Thank you, Aunt Alice,” she said softly.
“You’re welcome.”
Aunt Alice then brought out some light breakfast. “Just eat a little for now; lunch is coming up soon.”
Sara nodded. “Alright.”
After some time, Sara managed to pull Kyle Thorne aside, lowering her voice. “Was I really drunk last night?”
Kyle stared at her in surprise. “Don’t tell me you don’t remember a thing?”
“I just remember playing the games, then going to the restroom and drinking some juice…”
It suddenly hit her that what she thought was juice must’ve actually been alcohol.
“Do you remember how I got back here?” she asked, a little apprehensive.
“Adrian carried you back,” Kyle Thorne answered, his eyes wide.
Sara’s own eyes widened in disbelief. “He carried me?”
“You were completely out of it, so my brother carried you back.”
Sara’s lips pressed into a thin line. “I didn’t do anything embarrassing, did I?”
Kyle shook his head. “Nope, you just slept the whole way.”
Relief flooded through Sara, and she exhaled a long breath. “Thank goodness.”
“But your tolerance is really low. Just a few cocktails, and you were out like a light,” Kyle teased.
Sara smiled awkwardly. “I know. I’m a total lightweight.”
She normally avoided alcohol, but last night, caught up in the moment and distracted by the events, she had ended up drinking without realizing it. The fruity cocktails had tasted so similar to the drinks she usually had that she hadn’t noticed the difference.
Later, when Grandma took Jimmy to the garden, Sara seized the opportunity to sit next to Adrian Blake.
“Um… thank you for bringing me back last night,” she said.
Adrian closed the magazine and looked at her. Sara was calm, composed, and polite as always - nothing like the spoiled, clingy girl from last night.
In his mind, Adrian replayed the scene of Sara grabbing his shirt and accusing him of being mean.
Did she really not remember?
His eyebrows raised slightly, and his eyes narrowed, his tone steady as he spoke.
“Try to drink less next time.”
