Chapter One

A loud slap hit Ava’s face, she fell on the ground helplessly drenched with tears.
“Three years of marriage and still not pregnant? How did I even give birth to such a useless thing as you? If you get kicked out, what should we do in the Theo Family?” Mrs Theo shouted and throw the doctor's report on the floor.
Mrs Theo dragged the injured ear of Ava, and let her feel excruciating pain.
Ava Crying bitterly… “Mom. It's hurt. I'm sorry”
Mrs Theo pushed her to a side “who cares about your sorry? I want you to give birth to a son for Lee Ryan. Do you understand?” Mrs Theo hit Ava on her injured ear.
Speaking with a loud voice “Listen to me if Ryan doesn't come home tonight, I'll find another woman outside for him. At least he can leave our Theo family well.”
“No mom. You can't do this” Ava crying and begging her mum. She tries to hold her legs. Mrs Theo kicked her, “Scram. Good for nothing.” And she left
The auditory system Ava use to support her hearing fell off as she cried bitterly. She couldn't hear properly. She finds the system and dials a number from her phone.
*Phone ringing* “Ryan please I beg you just answer the phone once.”
*Flashbacks* Three years ago.
On the wedding day of Ava and Ryan. The assistant reported that the Theo family has taken away 30 billion. The furious Ryan straggled Ava's neck.
“Theo Family dares to lie to me” flashbacks stopped.
(The number you dialed is not responding).
Later that day, Theo Ava prepared dinner for Ryan, she set her alarm for 6pm and took a nap waiting for Ryan. The alarm woke her up “oh no it's 6pm, Ryan is coming home.”
She rushed to the kitchen and brought the prepared dish, blocking Ryan’s path because he was walking straight to his room.
“You don't have to prepare foods for me anymore” Ryan said
“What I prepared was not good enough?” She asked.
“What I want is a wife not a deceiver.” He walks out of her present
Ava hold his hand and asked “Do you have anyone someone you like?”
“What do you mean?” Ryan asked frowning.
(Ryan. You will never know you are not just my husband of three years but still the man I've been in love for 12years. But now…) Ava speaking on her mind.
“If you have someone you like, you can be with her.” She answered.
Ryan flings her hands off him and walks out of the sitting room.
(TV Show interview)
Interviewer: “Miss Ruan. What is the reason for your return to the country?”
Miss Ruan: “I came back this time to get back my first love. Lee Ryan.”
Theo Ava watching the TV show is drenched with tears..
It's passed 10 in the night. Ava was waiting for Ryan to come back home and her phone rings… “hello Ryan!
“Theo Ava. It's me Ruan Delilah. Ryan is drunk. Why don't you come and pick him up?
Ava dropped the call, changed her clothes and rushed to the location sent to her.
(THE BAR)
*CHEERS* “We've been waiting for Delilah for 3 years. Now we are complete”. Someone said
Bar owner: To celebrate the return of Miss Ruan, I'll open a beer for everyone to celebrate. Everybody happily claps.
Ava is already standing watching them getting together happily. Miss Ruan spotted Ava and shift closer to Ryan and hold his arm for Ava to see.
“Ahh.. Is this not Theo Ava?” Someone saw her. Ryan drew his hand off from Delilah.
“Ava. Don't get me wrong. Ryan and I are just friends now” Delilah said
Ryan asked his friends to forget about Ava. He walk up to her and asked
“What are you doing here?”
“I thought you were drunk and wanted to pick you up.” Xia Shi respond.
“It's seems that you don't understand what I said to you today, do you remember? Do you think it's been long and everybody has forgotten about three years ago, I Lee Ryan was cheated by you and your family. So you are trying to remind people of it again?”
“No! No Ryan” Ava tries to hold his hand.
“Don't touch me again! He threw her hand off, and she fell down. Her ear starts to bleed.
“Delilah, this woman is so strange, what else did you explain to her? Someone asked.
Another person said. “If it were not for her cheating marriage three years ago, Ryan has long been married to Miss Ruan. What a bad luck. Everyone forget about her, let's drink.”
Ava managed to stand up and walks out of the bar. (The marriage is an agreed contract between the two families, how is it my fault at the end) she speaks in her mind.
It's raining outside. Ava stood in the rain with an umbrella.
“How do you feel now? You should know what you are going for. Look at your past, how many times have you dream before? You are so pathetic now. You have secretly loved Ryan for more than ten years. But he doesn't love you at all.” Delilah confront Ava.
“Are you done talking?” Ava asked Delilah.
Delilah raised her hand and slap Ava on the ear. Her ear continue to bleed.
“You jinx, do you think I am still that orphan who was left by the Theo family in those days? And you are that Miss Theo. You little girl should have died long time ago.”
Delilah saw Rowan coming, she pretend Ava hits her and fall on the ground screaming “please don't hit me.”
Rowan rushed over and pulled Delilah up. “Are you alright Delilah?
“Don't ask, nothing happened. Please don't blame Ava, I'm fine.” she pretends
“Ava. You dare hurt Delilah immediately she came back, who else are you going to hurt again? I'll take care of you today for Ryan.” Shen angrily said.
Ava ear is bleeding, she couldn't hear him properly.
“Pretending to be deaf right?” Rowan slapped Ava's ear that is bleeding.
He pushed her into a pool of water.
She cried and beg him as she couldn't fight back.
“Pretend! You can't hear me right? Pretend” he screem.
“Please help me! What are you doing? Why are you treating me like this?” Avai asking while crying..
Ryan arrived and ask what is going on.
“Ryan save me.” Ava cried for help.
“I'm just scolding her for her wrong doings.” Delilah told Ryan.
Ryan hold Delilah hand and said “let's go”
“Ryan, are you here for me? You are so kind to me.” Delilah say to Ryan.
Rowan:: let's go and enjoy ourselves.
Ava feeling disheartened felt her heart sank, she was drenched with t
ears as she cried bitterly in the pool.
“Ryan. I can stand the darkness, but only if I haven't seen the light.”
