Unexpected Visitor

I would come to the next day. Hoping that what I last remembered was a dream. That whatever that creature was hadn’t taken my wife’s life. I looked beside me and started to whimper. Her body still lies next to mine on that branch. No blood coming out now. All dried up now. I started crying knowing that I would never be able to touch her. Love on her and make my wife feel at home anymore. I was not in much better shape though either. When I got thrown against the tree I didn’t realize it, but I had broken a vertebrae in my back. I wouldn’t notice it either for awhile at least. I tried getting up but I couldn’t. I didn’t want to either. I wanted for the woods to swallow me up. I didn’t want to feel pain anymore. I don’t know how else to describe how you really feel when your wife passes away. It’s almost like the world stops turning for you in that moment. My crying gave way to more of a lonesome yowling. I was broken into a million pieces. The one person that I loved more than anyone or anything had been taken from me and all I wanted inside was to be lost and taken myself. It didn’t feel right that my life was spared and my wife’s was taken. Everything in this moment seemed unfair. The woods were now full of life again, but I didn’t care. I didn’t want anything to do with wildlife, let alone actually being alive. I had to go, I couldn’t stay there much longer. I was in to bad of a place as it was. I needed to find my way out of the Ozark’s. Imagine being alone in the woods, just you and the woods around you. Now picture the horror that I had as an aura around me. That is how I felt in this moment. I tried standing up, I couldn’t however. I still hadn’t realized one of my vertebrae’s in my back had been broken. So I instead crawled with the strength I had left. I must’ve been crawling for hours at this point. My strength was dwindling. I figured at this point accept my fate and let the woods swallow me up. I can’t move much more. I’ve looked back every once in awhile and saw I was leaving a trail of blood thru the underbrush and grass and anything I crossed over. I wasn’t sure where I was or how I was still alive. The woods were still full of life. I just kept creeping down the side of the mountain in a crawl. After a while off crawling I lost consciousness. When I woke it was pitch dark out. I don’t know what caused me to wake up but I knew by the crickets chirping that I was still in the woods. I was still in shock over everything but now, I was starting to feel a little bit of the pain from my back. My vertebrae was now starting to make known how bad the situation was. I couldn’t move at all now at this point. I was out in the middle of nowhere in the Ozark Mountains. No way physically possible to get out of here now. I was now officially helpless. After a few minutes I started feeling faint again when I started hearing something in the brush. Sounded like something huge moving thru the underbrush just over the next knoll from me. I was hoping at this point it was the thing I saw earlier that had killed my wife coming back to finish me off. However, for some reason I had more of a feeling of relief that from whatever this thing was moving thru the brush. Twigs snapping and branches breaking underneath something large got louder and louder. I was about to loose conciseness again when I caught a glimpse of what had been making all the noise. This thing looked way different then the thing that I had just encountered. Whatever this thing was, it stood about from what I guessed was at least eight to ten feet tall. It was covered in red mush brown hair. I could tell the color just thru the light that was now barely visible thru the trees in the moonlight now. I wasn’t sure however when it turned dark out. Then again, being in and out of consciousness doesn’t help in telling what time it is out nor how light it is out. The eyes glowed an amber ish color and we’re forward facing like ours. However, different from the creature from the previous day. It was tall from what I could see. Looked dark, but my vision at this point was blurry and I couldn’t make out the details very well. I just remember these two yellow glowing dots in my vision. I assumed that they were eyes, considering there is no way a vehicle would be all the way out here in the middle of nowhere. I stopped crawling and embraced for the inevitable. “Kill me please! Get this hell over with I beg you!” I screamed out loud not caring whether I died or not. Instead of something reaching for me to kill me right then and there. I was answered by a gibberish sound. As if it was trying to speak a language of some sort. I couldn’t make out what it was saying though. Then all of the sudden I got picked up and thrown over the shoulder of this thing. I sat on its shoulder not moving an inch. Not even trying to get away from it. I figured this was it, it was going to carry me into its lair wherever that may be and it was going to kill me there. I laid in wait over the shoulder of this thing, mental note though, this things shoulder was muscular. Like I bet if this thing wanted to it could’ve easily crushed me without flinching. I will admit I felt a little helpless over this things shoulder. I was starting to black out again, however I held on to try to see what my eventual fate would be. After about five minutes of walking on this things shoulder the feeling got more intense though. I couldn’t help it, and I just let the darkness take over me.
