Lifting my chin, though I couldn’t see her face, I rasped, “I’m not after him. I. Have. A. Mate. I only want my life back.”
She grunted, clearly unimpressed, and gripped my elbow too tightly.
“Your room,” she said, her voice like chipped glass.
Before I could thank her, she slammed the door behind me, leaving only echoing silence and the roar of the fire.
With each day, I learned. I grew.
And Kyo… taught me how to shift. I can now fully shift and control myself.
I know everywhere in the mansion. I can move around on my own and even cook some meals.
