Nyx’s POV
Light spilled through the curtains. Birds chirped softly in the distance—it was morning.
Kyo and I lay on the bed, his body curled around mine. He pulled me closer, pressing me tightly to his stomach, as if someone might come and snatch me away.
These days, he showed me a kind of care even my own father never had.
I tried to sit up, to ease myself, but he tugged me back.
"You’ll be going for the test today," he murmured, climbing on top of me. "Let’s try again this morning… this might be the lucky one."
"I want to go and ease my—"
"Do it here," he cut in sharply.
I froze but did as he said.
I heard the bed creak as he got up. "Nyx, did you actually do it here?" he said in disbelief.
"You’re really still childish."
And then the door opened. I heard his footsteps retreat
