Elvis and I had not begun to have a chance to talk about the kiss. Or what was going on between the two of us. Lisa Maire had all his time right now. For the moment. That was fine by me.
Did I really want a relationship with Elvis? I mean he was so famous. He had been with so many other women. I was a little nobody. I would be in the spotlight if I chose to be with Elvis. My private life would not be private anymore!
Early that morning I went out jogging. Elvis had not been going this week. He had been busy with Lisa Marie, so I cut him some slack on that.
Lisa Marie was sitting on the steps there in the hallway at Graceland when I come in. She was brushing her hair with a hairbrush. It looked like she was trying her hardest to braid her hair. But was failing at it.

"Dang it" she mutters.
"What is going on?" I ask her.
"I can't braid my hair. Mommy always does it for me back home and daddy does not know how" she pouts.
"May I help?" I offer to her.
She hands me her hairbrush and little hair ribbons. I sit behind her on the stairs. And brush out all the knots in her hair first. Then I braid her hair for her. And add the fancy ribbon to it. I hand her the mirror beside her she had laying there.
"Do you like it?" I ask her.
She nods. "Thanks!" she says to me.
"No problem" I tell her.
The doorbell rings. Mary answers the door. In comes Ginger. Why was she there? Was she back with Elvis? Was that why Elvis was not joining me on his morning walks this week? My heart sinks when I see her come in the place. Like she owned it. Lisa Marie's cute little face lights up with she spots Ginger come in.

"Ginger!" she calls out. She hugs Ginger hello. I come down to greet her.
I might as well find out what was going on here.
Ginger hugs Lisa Marie. "I told you kiddo I would come, and I did"
"What are you doing here?" I ask her.
"Last time Lisa was here I promised her that I would take her shopping. She called me yesterday. I agreed to come over" says Ginger. "That is all. Elvis said it was alright"
My heart sinks hearing that. They were friends?? "Oh okay" I mutter softly.
"Are you ready to go shopping?" Ginger asks Lisa Marie.
"Hang on! Daddy is giving me money" says Lisa.
She rushes up to get her father. He had been in his den working up there.
"How are you?" Ginger asks me.
I nod. "I am good and you?" I ask her.
"I have been better. I broke up with that guy. It did not work out" she sighs.
"I am sorry to hear that" I tell her.
She nods. "Me to. I have sure missed Elvis. How is he? His progress?" she asks me.
"I can't tell you that. But I can tell you he is doing fine" I tell her.

If Elvis was really over her than why was he allowing Ginger to take is daughter on shopping trips? It did not add up. I felt awful. I let the man kiss me. I was just another one of his many flings of women. I bet he was over me by now. Oh well. I would move on. He already did.
"Ginger I forgot about this" Elvis mentions as he comes down the stairs. "The last time it was arranged was when we were still together. You do not have to take Lisa out" he tells her.
"Please daddy! I am so bored" begs Lisa.
"I miss her. Please let me" offers Ginger.
"You do not mind?" Elvis asks Ginger.
She shakes her head. "Not one little bit"
Elvis looks at me then at Ginger and Lisa.
"Please daddy?" begs Lisa.
"Fine" sighs Elvis giving in.
Elvis gives the money to Ginger to hold on for Lisa. Then the two girls head out. I go to head on my way. I was in no mood to hear all about how Elvis made up with Ginger. And I was again left out in the cold. I already knew I was being dumped. It would have been nice if he had told me first before seeing all that. Elvis grabs my arm. Stopping me from leaving.

"Hey what is wrong?" he asks me.
"Nothing" I lie.
"Look Sandra, we agreed that the last time I was with Ginger. Really" he tells me.
"You do not have to explain a thing to me. It is not like we are together or anything...." I try to go and say.
He yanks me close to him. His lips fall to mine. I weakly give him. My lips crush his in a kiss that brought me weak in the knees. My hand rests on his chest. He thought he had me. He thought he had Ginger. He thought he owned all the woman in Memphis probably. I finally pull apart from the sweet kiss.
"Elvis don't!" I warn him. "Don't unless you really mean that" I warn him sternly.
He holds me close again. Our eyes locked on each other. "Oh, I mean it honey" he declares as he kisses me again.
"Elvis please. Listen to me. What is going on with you and Miss Alden? Are you going to get back together?" I demand to know. "she said she is single again" I point out as I breathlessly pull away from his kisses.
"I could care less. She made her choice. She left me" he reminds me.
"Elvis!" I sigh. "I do not want to be your rebound girl" I warn him.
"You're not Sandra" he begs. "You are not"
"I feel like I am" I mutter unhappily.
"I am not a perfect man by any means Sandra. I have not been trying to work things out with Ginger while I am trying to win over your heart" he points out.

Little did he know he had my heart. I could not let him know that. It was going to get broken.
"I don't know" I mutter softly. I felt so confused. But when I was back in his embrace, I felt like I was the only girl in his world. I believed all his pretty little words that he told me.
He touches my cheek with his hand. "I meant what I said. I have been busy this week. But I sure the hell was not busy chasing after Ginger" he promises me.
He looks me n the eyes. "Are we good?" he asks me.
I nod. He smiles then kisses me. I pull back.
"Elvis?" I say.
"Yes Sandra?" he questions.
"Maybe we should not be so public with this. That I am dating you. I mean I could lose my job for dating someone I work for" I worry. "I do not want the public to know I am dating you" I say softly.
His face falls. He has a hurt look cross his face. He regains his composure. "I understand. We will keep this to ourselves" he agrees.
"Behind closed doors?" I tease. He nods.
"When Lisa goes back home, we can focus on us. And I would like to show you a good time. Have our first date. What do you say?" he asks me shyly.
I beam a happy smile. "You are on! You have a date Mr. Presley"
He finally smiles. He kisses me. "Good. Again, I am so sorry about Ginger. Lisa called her"
I smile. "I believe you Elvis" I promise him.
"I would never do anything to hurt what we found with each other. I would like to see where this leads us", he tells me. He holds me close to him.
"I would like that to" I say happily. "Behind closed doors" I remind him.
"Behind closed doors" he agrees as we seal the deal with a kiss on the lips
