5 Entering a dream is always a little disorienting at first. Climbing into someone’s mind is like traveling to a new city. You get culture shock, and it takes a little while to adjust to the sights, sounds, and smells. I swam through into a soup of lights, colors, and sounds. Flashing lights. Car lights. Yellow, bright white, blinding. An engine. Revving. People talking: old, young, everyone he’d interacted with in the last day. I heard my own voice among them. “Typical mind,” a voice said. Destiny.
