Epilogue Ethel tossed the letter on her bed and her hands trembled. How she hated the effect Maximus still had on her after all these years. She knew the old fool couldn’t be trusted. He had always been too sneaky with his words and too conniving with his charm. Without even reading it, she knew the letter would undoubtedly contain something she didn’t want to know.
