Sandra POV
As I walk back to the loft, I can’t help but to be plagued with questions and worry.
I had been on dangerous missions before although none had required for warriors to be beside me.
And then there was the matter of my dreams. Dang it! I knew I forgot something.
Oh well, if anything I would give Rychell a call after we reached the vampire kingdom.
Stepping in the door, Loki greets me.
Mreeeoowww.
“Yes Loki, you know I’m about to leave don’t you? Don’t worry. Someone from the Pack will be over to stay with you while I’m away. Maybe my cousin Lizzie?”
Mrreeeeoww.
Loki wraps himself around about my legs without a care in the world. As long as someone gave him food and scritches he was content.
I make my way to the closet. Packing for the journey was going to be easy. I tend to travel light just to save time and strength depending on if I traveled on foot or by horse. Since I would have escorts this go round, we would be traveling on foot.
Throwing an assortment of clothing in the duffel bag, I grab my brush, throw my brown locks into a bun, and switch out of the heels. Some worn in tennis shoes would do the trick for this trip.
Ready to go, I give Loki a hug… I wasn’t sure how but I knew this adventure would change everything.
*Knock, knock*
I swing open the door to see Seamus & Kyenric packed and ready to go. They were good looking I’ll give them that.
Seamus looked almost identical to his sister- bright reddish orange hair, and brown eyes. The only difference really was his physique… he oozed masculine werecat vibes. From the thick beard that shaped his rugged face, the woodsy scent that tickled my nose, to the corded muscles shaping his arms. He was scrumptious and unfortunately not my mate.
Kyenric on the other hand was the opposite yet still in a devilishly handsome way. Very much the embodiment of a royal elf, his sleek black hair flowed almost to his feet. Today it was fashioned in a tight braid. Wise choice since we’d be walking a great distance. Golden eyes stared back at me. He wasn’t as muscled as Seamus… more of a lean muscle that fit his willowy frame perfectly.
Both men were almost six foot. I felt like a small fry at five foot two inches. At least I knew both men respected me for who I was. They knew I could kick their a** in a hand to hand fight.
“Are you ready Sandra?” they both asked at once, looked at one another, and we all broke out in a fit of laughter.
“Haha, yeah guys I’m ready. Did you tell Sentori to send over someone to watch Loki?”
“Of course, everyone loves that furball of yours. Lizzie will be staying while we are gone.”
I give them a nod of thanks. They all knew Loki was spoiled and couldn’t be left alone for extended periods of time. Part of his charm if you asked me.
The travel time to the vampire kingdom wasn’t that long. Maybe three days by foot at most. Easy terrain- flatland for miles in each direction with some thick oak trees interspersed across the land. Trouble had no chance of sneaking up on us. Not that I expected any.
I smirk. This quest would be too easy! As far as we knew, the documents were already completed. I just needed to read over the pages, check for the appropriate signatures, add my seal and we’d be able to leave.
“Alright guys, let’s roll.”
“Uh, Sandra… think it would be possible for you to make your rabbit stew at the first rest stop?” Kyenric pleaded.
“Hmmm, well since I am gracing y’all with my presence I guess I can make some food for you guys.”
“Sweet! I finally get to try the good stuff instead of listening to the elders brag about it all the time.” Seamus yipped with a new bounce in his step.
Oh goddess I might regret this decision.
Throwing the bags over our shoulders we make our way out of the town.
Sentries wave as we pass with well wishes.
