Kate’s POV
I love Christmas, it’s only a few weeks away and I can’t wait. It is my sister’s
and my favourite holiday; we always do our shopping together. The friends and
family, the atmosphere, the food and drinks, the decorations and festivities, it is
all absolutely amazing; but I hate the festive rush, the shopping and that everywhere
is always so full of people, yet I enjoy the liveliness. I need to get to do my
Christmas shopping. Wes said he had a surprise for us, and I can’t wait for him
to come home, firstly so that I can have his credit card, and secondly so he can
tell me what this surprise is all about. I have a good job, but I like spending my
husband’s money. The thought makes me smile. I hear the garage and I know
that Wes is home. William is with Nisha; he sure fell fast and hard. I don’t know
how I feel about her, but he is a grown man and very stubborn, he never listens
to me. I’ve met her twice, both times at a family gathering, and my sister says it
seems like she is always jumpy and seems like she has a big secret; I don’t know,
might just be our imagination. Lilly and Romeo are in some relationship, she’s so
young and I am always worried about her. I am very uncertain about him too. I
like him, but he has broken her heart before. The last time they were together, he
disappeared with no reason, or at least that is my assumption because it is so hard
to get what is happening with the two of them. I get up and greet my husband.
Wesley’s POV:
My wife loves Christmas and I know that this time of the year before the holidays
I don’t see her much. She goes shopping with her sister and mother and
sometimes she drags me along, but I know she loves going with them. I love the
holidays too, but I like the holidays to have a holiday. Kate is always busy, it’s like
a second job keeping up with her. I want a vacation - the beach, blue sky, warm
seawater, and sand between my toes. Kate just wants her whole family around
and she always cooks up a storm. I love my wife’s food; the size of my belly shows
just how much.
Edward’s POV
I am sitting at work, in my office, alone. I am daydreaming, imagining myself
on a boat on the open water, just enjoying the sound of the waves and relaxing.
I want to take Lisa and the boys away this year in December for the holidays,
she needs one. After the bad news we received, they deserve a break, so I end my
daydreams and I plan to make it a reality. I call my assistant; he is such a nerd.
Lisa insisted I have a male assistant and I actually like this guy; he is efficient, and
I never have to ask him twice. “Sam, can you please come in here for a minute?”
He comes straight away, notepad and pen in hand, ready to get instructions, I
love it. “Please find me a holiday destination, somewhere local, maybe Kalk Bay
Harbour? Okay wait, not maybe. Get me accommodation there, book flights
and make sure we are in first class. It will be my wife and myself and my sons.”
I think to myself rather than say it out loud that Romeo will probably give me
grief about going, since he’s a grown man now, but he needs to spend time with
his family - this will make Lisa happy.
I also need you to get me two cars I can rent that side, one for us all and one for
just Lisa and me in case we want to separate for a day. Make sure Romeo has
his own place and space, I want him to feel like he knows I thought about him.
Also get reservations at restaurants, some nights just for Lisa and me, and most
nights for us all. Get back to me when you have some plans in place. He leaves
in a rush, and I am on a mission. Within the hour, Sam has booked a cosy home
on the beach, and I love it. It is huge and we won’t get in each other’s way. There
is an upstairs apartment for Romeo, with his own entrance, we are close to the
beach and there is a warm swimming pool. Lisa will love it. Dillan is easy-going
so I know he will love the place regardless.
I have been to Kalk Bay Harbour, you can buy fish and chips there and eat it on
the pier next to the small boats. I’d like to go back there because I know Lisa likes
to try the locals’ cuisines and she wants to experience their lifestyles. There is a
genuinely nice man named Albert who works on the corner, creating the most
beautiful sculptures out of wire and metal; I hope he is still there. The boys will
enjoy the talent out there. Although I know they are both in serious relationships,
I think they are just too young, and they have time to explore. I am at
peace when Sam lets me know everything is in place and in three weeks we will
be in the Western Cape, relaxing and sightseeing.
