Their first Thanksgiving in Skipton was a surprise for the sisters. They had never experienced such a non-traditional holiday before, and they loved every minute.
Mavis had asked them to join her family, and they had felt guilty telling her they’d already accepted Pastor McFarland’s invitation. When she found out where they were going, she nodded her approval and told them they would enjoy the holiday much more at the church parish. Rebecca had thought Mavis had made the comment to spare their feeling, but once she was at the parish, she found that the older woman had been correct.
