Fate, Love and Twist

Romantic Daniel

In the morning, Daniel had already woken ahead of everybody to prepare breakfast. He had seen movies where a lover served his partner breakfast in bed. So, he wanted to replicate such a beautiful romantic gesture. So he made a yummy light breakfast and served Kendra, who was still lying down like an angel. She woke up to Daniel gazing at her with a beautiful smile.

“Good Morning beautiful. Hope you had a beautiful night's rest?” asked Daniel.

"Good morning. I had a peaceful night. " Kendra replied.

"Can you please turn to the right? " Daniel urged her.

Kendra turned to see the breakfast served at the other end of the bed. She marveled at the romantic gesture pulled by Daniel.

"That's lovely. It looks yummy." Kendra said as she drew closer to the appetizing breakfast.

She tried the toasted bread. It was yummy. She ate while Daniel stood watching her. It was a beautiful scenario to watch the one you love eating and enjoying the meal that you prepared. Daniel was happy that things were actually moving smoothly.

A few minutes after breakfast in bed, Kendra went to take a shower while Daniel sat in the sitting room with Lucy. Daniel started unwrapping the gifts he got from both Kendra and Lucy. He started with that of Kendra first. It was well packaged and included a wristwatch, perfume, sneakers and a basketball jersey. Daniel was a basketball player while they were in high school. He was still in love with the sport. He often follows the NBA on television. Basketball is his favorite sport. So Kendra knew exactly the things that would certainly blow his mind. He then opened the Christmas card that came with the package. It reads:

Merry Christmas to you, my new-found source of happiness. You are the new dawn that has adorned my life with all round bliss.

I wish you a wonderful celebration!

This actually blew the mind of Daniel as he read the card. He was smiling all through as Lucy drew closer to peep into the card. She was wowed by the sweet words of Kendra.

"You are lucky bro! You have got yourself an angel. Love has actually come knocking on your door. I'm happy for you". Lucy acknowledged.

"Thank you". Daniel replied.

Daniel was very happy that Kendra found him worthy. It's not easy for a woman to acknowledge that a man is her source of happiness. She really made him find the missing part in him. He has been searching to fill the void inside of him, and thanks to the heavens, he has finally found the missing piece in him. Kendra came out of the room wearing Daniel's T-shirt. Daniel and Lucy were stunned as it looked great on her. Things were really getting serious. She was now comfortable wearing the clothes of Daniel. Daniel had indeed found for himself a gemstone. That's what his mind concluded as he was wowed at how great his T-shirt looked on her. Daniel stood up as she drew closer. They hugged to the point that Lucy was getting jealous. She took her leave immediately as three was a crowd. Daniel looked deep into the eyes of Kendra, their faces were coming close, and it looked like they were going to have their first kiss. Daniel was so ready for this, but immediately his lips brushed hers, she turned away. Daniel apologized immediately.

"I'm sorry I'm running too fast. I didn't mean to." Daniel apologized.

Before he could finish his apology, Kendra pounced on his lips and they had a real sensual kiss. It was really deep that Lucy had to peep through the doors to see what was going on. They both disengaged while staring at each other. Kendra smiled and Daniel followed suit. They locked lips again.

Daniel's mood after the mutual kiss with the love of his life Kendra was a mixture of excitement, expectation and happiness. He liked the way things had turned around, and he was hoping that it would be sustained to eternity. He wanted something that would last forever. So he had already been painting a picture of their wedding in his mind. He wanted a wedding that would not be loud. He wanted something simple that would have just a few families and friends. He was also deliberating within his mind where their honeymoon would take place. He had suggested the Bahamas, Hawaii and even Paris. These thoughts couldn't stop running through the mind of an elated Daniel.

It was afternoon. They were actually having a siesta. Kendra was asleep with her head lying on the chest of Daniel. Daniel was awake smiling and pondering what the future of his new-found love would look like. He looked at the wall clock and noticed it was actually time for lunch. Lucy was not making any food. She found her way to the garden with a romantic novel. She likes Romantic novels. She has read a lot about love, but it has never favored her in reality. She has been in a couple of relationships but all of them ended with her being left with severe heartbreaks. She was a strong lady. She didn't let the unfortunate circumstances that befell her stop her from searching for love. She believes she will find true love someday. Daniel quietly removed Kendra's head from his chest. She woke immediately.

"Sorry my love, you have to keep lying down beautifully while I check something. I will be right back", said Daniel as he dashed to the kitchen.

He knew in no time, his guest would be feeling hungry. So he quickly prepared lunch, placed it on the dining while he went to fetch his love. Kendra had already woken from sleep as she was really famished. Daniel saw her yawning.

"You are woken already. Get up, I made lunch for us ", said Daneil as he helped her to get up from bed.

He held her hand and led her to the dining table. He acted like a proper gentleman, making sure he led her to sit first before he could sit. He dished out the food, Kendra couldn't wait for an opening prayer before the meal. She had already dipped her cutlery into the plate, picking up the food. She tasted the food and it was so delicious. She couldn't hold her contentment as she complimented him immediately.

"The meal is so delicious. You are a great cook." Kendra showered him with compliments that swelled his head.

"Thank you my love". Daniel replied as he was gazing at her, and she smiled back at him.

They were enjoying the meal when Lucy came in. She was surprised that lunch was ready and nobody called her. She quickly joined them at the table.

"I know you didn't call me because you thought three would be a crowd ", said Lucy as she dished her own food.

"Not at all. I thought you were still enjoying the nature around the garden. " Daniel replied.

They all went on to have a great lunch as Kendra cannot stop praising Dainiel for his cooking skills. Lucy joined the praise and told Kendra that they were all raised to be great cooks in their family.
