Evelyn was satisfied that her son agreed to go through with her plan. even though he wasn't happy. She placed her hands on his cheeks tenderly and said to him;
"I don't have much time left, go and prepare for the sacrifice." Killian left the chambers were she was being treated agonized and went to meet his family. He felt as if a dagger was stabbed in his heart.
Eve was by the door all along listening to their conversation. When she heard her husband's foot stamps becoming more audible she ran away from the door and went to wait for him in their chambers. When Kilian entered their chamber, she was seated on an arm chair by the bed. She knew her husband was aware of her presence by the door. So when he entered she popped up the question that has been bugging her;
"So! Are you going to do it?" she asked curiously
"It's her last wish… and it's my duty to grant it" he answered blankly
"If that's the case, I will perform the spell of immortality on you and our children" Eve suggested. But she had her own ulterior motive. She loved being a witch and she didn't want to lose all that. The spell of immortality, she had learnt of it from her mother, when she was still alive. It's a unique spell indeed, but so far, no one has been able to perfect it. Except for Evelyn. The bad side of it is that for a witch like herself the spell will stop her from being a witch.
"No… you need to be a part of the children when I perform the spell" Killian tried to convince her. But she was adamant and even crying as she persisted with her choice.
"It's my choice… my magic is the strongest in the family and I want to be the one that preserves our heritage as once witches… also I have a request to make of you." She looked at him with pleading eyes.
Don't make me perform the spell on Katherine as well. I want her to remain a witch… she will be safe; I promise you… I have also been working on a spell, that will warrant her to leave a long life. It's a sleeping spell, she can remain an immortal, but she will have to sleep for twenty-five years every century, in order to retain her youthful appearances." Killian looked at her for a while, before he answered;
"you have really thought about this… haven't you?" she nodded desperately
"Okay! Fine if you insist…"
The children were gathered outside their chambers except for Katherine. Each one was grumbling but dared not to complain, for they all feared their father. They gathered round a bonfire, looking at each other with fear and reluctance in their eyes. The idea of sacrificing their beloved grandmother pricked their hearts. They were all looking sad. Full of unexplained emotion. None of them was okay with their grandmother's choice. Yet neither of them could go against her last wish. Less they face the wrath of their Father Killian.
Eve took drops of their blood in a voodoo pot and mixed it with a pinch of phoenix ashes. She did a long incantation and added her own blood as well before she made all of them drink it. She continued chanting the spell as She stabbed Evelyn in her heart to complete the spell. She took her blood in a voodoo pot and handed it to each of them to drink the blood. After which they all died. She carried their bodies into their house with the help of Katherine. That night with Katherine by her side they buried Evelyn alone in the darkness of the night.
The family didn't wake up for the whole day. Eve was becoming worried that the spell might not have worked. She was now feeling responsible for her family's death. Katherine saw how devastated her mother was. She encouraged her not to be frightened but to rather believe that their family was alright, that their family will be alright. Eve had already given up hope of her family's survival, when at mid-night they all resurrected as the undead. Thus the first family of vampires was created.
"Brother!" the Menacing voice yelled at Lucian. But he was not to be bothered by it. He simply crossed his legs and took a bite off a red apple, he had been observing from his hands for a while;
"Ever wondered why the Apple is the only fruit used to make reference to everything that is bad? … the rotten apple does not fall very far from the tree! So they say. Or the forbidden fruit in religious traditions that is talked about so much is thought to be the apple. Sister enlighten me please." he stood up casually and fixed his hands in his pockets unfazed by her presence.
"You monster!” She yelled at him while he grinned at her as if he didn't hear when she cussed at him. He was simply eating his apple with a malicious grin on his face unbothered.
"Well sister aren't we all monsters!" he moved so speedily like a flash of lightening to stand behind her, he smiled then responded to her mischievously;
"Are you beginning to get tired of being a witch? Maybe the mixing of portions and the hexing of people and creatures is getting boring for you!" staring at her nape, his fangs elongated and he said to her in an almost convincing manner but in a scornful tone;
"Not to worry you have an endearing brother ready to help you with that, anytime you are ready…" she clicked her fingers and he began sweating profusely. She smiled wickedly and answered him saying;
"See that! That's your blood boiling and I can do a lot more harm than that." He smiled at her while shaking his head side-ways as he ran like the flash of lightening out of her presence to stand on the rails of the balcony, far from his room, he yelled playfully so she could hear his voice;
"I don't doubt that Kathy ha- ha- ha- ha" Lucian jumped off the balcony rails to the ground effortlessly and ran speedily to his favorite bar where he hangs out with his best friend Argo Monroe. He went straight to the sexy bar tender called Alisha, he gave her flirtatious look and said;
"The usual Alisha!" she handed him a glass of Hennessy with a smirk written on her face, he tipped his glass to her and gulped it all at once. Sighting his friend, he dropped the glass on the counter and hurriedly went to meet him;
"well! Well! If it's not Argo roaming around the bar at this time searching for only he knows what! And here, I have been waiting for my right hand man to tell me how the search for my junior brother is going at the bayou"
"Hey! What's up man? you have nothing to be bothered about for the search is going just fine?"
"I see! So what are you doing here?" he followed Argo's line of sight to see him stealing glances with the hot bar tender. He clapped his hands together and folded them behind his back.
"Oh! Oh! My bad, you left behind the search for my junior brother for this?”
"Oh! No Man…" Lucian interrupts his explanation with his sarcasm
"mid-day snack I see; I will leave you to it then." He moved like a flash of lightening to stand behind Argo. He grabbed his neck with his claws and a malicious smile appeared on his face.
"Don't forget who I am just because I call you my right hand man…" Argo interrupted his threat saying;
"Don't you get it, she's part of my suspect?" Argo was almost yelling at Lucian as he was trying to explain himself to save his own life.
"Explain!" Lucian commanded. Argo dragged him away from the bar and took him to a corner to explain.
