“Then how is it online? Magic?” he asked in a mocking voice. She grabbed his phone immediately and dialed Karan’s number;

“Hello! Who is it on the line? its Karan speaking!” his voice sounded normal, almost unbothered. She thought that with all that happened at her apartment, when she called she would feel some sort of pain coming from his voice, but he sounded normal like nothing happened”

“Hey Karan it’s Lilith!” her voice was down with the realization that he might not have cared about her.

“Hey Lilith! what happened? why did you leave all of a sudden? I thought you said nothing was going on between you and that hunk!” he asked her with a sudden change in his tone of voice, it was almost as if he was trying to clear her doubt about him. he sounded concerned.

“Yeah nothing is going on between me and him… I just have somethings to run for him! I will be back soon … anyways Karan did you submit the novel I was writing, to the Valiant publishing house?

“Yeah! I had to. They sent a bunch of threatening emails and letters to your mail. They’ve been nagging since you left complaining about you trying to run away with the company’s money without turning in your work. They threaten to take you into custody… so I had to turn in the work for you… sorry I did all that without your permission I couldn’t get through to you and since I had access to your work I thought that will be the best cause of action, at that time. I was really worried for your safety and that’s why I had to turn in the book to them”

“Those bastards!” she yelled at the top of her voice and turned off the phone. She shrugged her shoulders and made a fist. Lucian said to her indifferently;

“As it is, I have sent your pictures out to the National house for the security of Vampires. You are on the law offender’s list and you have every right to cooperate with the police force or whatever you do in an attempt to go against our law will be used against you.” Lilith fell to her knees and cupped her face with her hands and screamed at the top of her voice. Lucian’s eyes were fixed on her unfazed but deep down in his heart he could feel her hurting.

“Tell me what’s my punishment?” Lilith robbed her nose, sniffling loudly. Her voice was breaking with tears dropping lightly from her eyes

“You are to stay in Hems-Ville for the rest of your life, and you’re to serve a sentence here at the Draco’s castle for ten years. Any attempt to escape will only endanger your life!” Lilith stood on her feet and bends her head downwards in deep thoughts.

“Show me to my cell!” she said to him sadly. As she had already resigned to her fate.

“you can stay here with me in my room that way I can keep a close eye on you.” She was flabbergasted by his reply and slightly agitated

“What!” she asked him immediately to confirmed her confusion

“I thought I am a prisoner! Do you sleep in the same room with your prisoners? Or is there something I am missing?” she asked him confused

“The cell might not be to your liking and that’s why I recommend you staying here with me” he replied her simply

“I rather stay in the cell! thank you and please!” he smirked at her mischievously and led her out of his chambers. They walked out of the building to a secluded portion of the land some good distance behind the castle. There were strongly armed men standing at the entrance of the building. Right from the entrance she could hear people wailing and screaming. Lucian signaled one of the men to light their way with a fire torch. The man led them in by lighting their path with the light. Lilith swallowed hard at the sight of the people receiving punishment and the hungry looking people locked up. Lucian turned to look at her along the way and said to her;

“Well then I can’t follow you any further, it stinks in here, I will ask the guards to show you to your cell room.” Lilith held the hem of his shirt and said;

“I will stay with you in the castle in your room!” Lucian sighed and said to her;

“I thought you wanted to stay in the cell … but of course I will understand if you change your mind” Lucian answered her innocently and almost convincingly.

“I don’t want to stay here anymore” she said the words with great difficulty as she was trying to hold her pain without bursting into tears. Lucian picked her up in his arms and ran like the flash of lightening back to his chambers. He dropped her and she said to him;

“If you don’t mind, can I please sleep on the sofa?” she asked him humbly and he replied her unfazed

“Nock yourself out as long as you don’t leave this room without my permission!” with Lucian’s eyes fixed on her every movement, she quietly went to lie down on the sofa. Lucian sighed, he knew what he did wasn’t fair on her, but there was no way he was going to let her go just like that. He laid on the bed facing her. she looked drained from crying but despite that she was still looking very beautiful.

 “Felix! I am sorry that your father had to go through my uncle’s brutality.” The two were seated on the bed with their legs folded when Helio suddenly apologized. Felix gave a light laughter through his nose and said;

“It’s like although Lucian is your uncle, yet you do not know the depths of his strength… the thing is I saw all these coming. I warned my father but he shunned my advice, he said it will be the last thing he does before he takes advice from a toddler… the good thing is at least one of my parents listened to me. When I told my mum about what father was scheming she traveled out of Hems-Ville.”

“Don’t worry my dad is just fine, he won’t die easily at least not when he has the tears of a phoenix with him and he always carries it around with him” Felix explained simply to Helio.

“But hey what do you mean the depths of my uncle’s power!” Helio shot Felix an expectant look and he replied him saying;

“From the first day your uncle came looking for you in our house, he already had an idea what my father was up to something. The thing with uncle Lucian is he always gives a person a benefit of a doubt. From the history books of vampires hidden in the underground library of the vampires it states that Lucian the great Vampire has the ability to read aura that emits from humans and Vampires alike and that’s why, when lied to he knows. No matter how hidden a person is or a vampire is his ability permits him to feel their vibrations and know if they are within a territory or not. You know what makes him stand out as well… his wings in the whole of history there has never been a vampire with wings except your uncle… I don’t think I am able to explain everything to you completely, why don’t you sneak into the library yourself and read about your uncle.” Felix stood up from the bed reluctantly and strides to table to grab himself some vampire candy. Helio followed after him and said;

“I think we should go see my aunty, I don’t know if she was worried about uncle Lucian or if she was agitated with him” as they walked into Kathy’s room Helio asked Felix on the way about his family;

“Felix!” he turned to look at Helio with expectant eyes

“The family of the Phoenixes, one of the greatest vampire family is my maternal home. My grandparents, that’s my mother’s parents were the first descendants of the phoenix.” Helio looked at him in awe and said;
