Chapter 47
Selene
“I made a new friend. He's just like me.” Rivael said, jumping enthusiacally with Toby, Leon’s son by his right hand.
I smiled, patting his hair gently. “Great, I knew you would do it.” I grabbed onto his hand before I looked up to Rivael.
“I'll be leaving now. I would love to see you some other time.” I said, turning away with Rivael held tightly in my hands but I stopped when I felt a force pulling me back.
I turned to Rivael holding on tightly to Toby unwilling to let go, and Toby also pulled with all his strength.
My eyes darted towards them, blinking severely before I sighed, realising the issue. “Let's go home. Shall we?” I asked Rivael but he shook his head almost immediately.
“No. I want to stay with Toby.” He said, in the cutest voice ever. Although I wanted to let him be, but we didn't have all day.
“You'll have a lot of time with Toby later, right now we need to go.” I said, signalling towards outside. He soon his head, hands folding tightly beneath his chest, his stance strong.
“No. I won't leave.” He said, and I stared hard at him, mind running through different ways which I could use to force them apart.
I looked up to Leon who stared at us, intrigued in our conversation.
“Can you take Toby away, I think he would leave once he doesn't see him anymore.” I said, and he nodded but by the time we looked down again, they were already together.
Hands held tightly together. I looked towards Leon who seemed to enjoy the moment before I sighed heavily. Rivael was really like his fathers.
“How about I take you home?” He said, and I turned sharply, about to politely decline his offer but then, he finished his words. “You can take him out while I drive off with Toby. It would be too late for them to do anything.”
He said, and I couldn't help but commend his idea, and although I wanted to take it up but I still had some concerns.
I caught sight of the kids again, this time Toby was already leaning towards the ice-cream truck whild Rivael looked towards the playground. Bingo! I smiled, before I turned towards Leon whispering the plan in his ears.
He stepped forward, grabbing a hold of Toby who looked startled, about to grab onto Rivael but he paused.
“Let's go get ice-cream.” He said in a calm voice and I smiled, walking towards Rivael.
“You can wait for Toby in there.” I said, pointing towards the playground. He looked tempted but still turned back to Toby, suspicious of our actions but as soon as we mentioned it again, they acted.
Toby rushed forward quickly, probably afraid he wouldn't see his friend when he returned and Rivael also did the same but I soon grabbed hold of him.
He protested, asking where we were going to, only stopping when I lied to him about seeing the moon did he keep quiet.
I took him out of the pack, just before Toby coul turn back, finally heading home.

The mop scrubbed hard against the floor for the third time today because Rivael just wouldn't stop jumping.
I stopped, keeping the mop in a bucket while staring at the sparkling neat floor. I smiled, raising my head when I caught sight of Riveal, about to walk straight into the place I had just cleaned.
I gave him a warning glare, but he advanced forward an inch, turning back to catch my gaze.
“Don't come closer. Behave.” I said, and he stopped.
He walked back into his room with a disappointed look on his face, and I sighed in relief.
I jumped, startled by the sudden knock on the door. I turned sharply, my hand on my chest trying to calm myself down.
I held tightly onto the door knob, hesitant to open. I wasn't expecting anyone. My hands freed from the knob, wanting to walk back but his voice came through.
“Is anyone home?” He asked, and although we had only talked for a while, I still recognised his voice, it was Leon.
I opened the door, apologising for not opening fast enough. He waved it off, giving me a gentle smile before ushering Toby in. “He wouldn't let me rest, he kept shouting Riveal's name all day so I brought him here for a play date.”
He paused, taking a while to study my expression. “That of course if you're free.”
“He can stay, why not?” I said, calling out for Rivael to accompany his friend. Leon smiled, looking towards the kids who we already talking.
“Thank you. I'll pick him later.” He said, before walking off. I waved him goodbye, closing the door only after I heard his car swerve away.
I walked back in, about to continue my chores when Ruby spoke.
“You're making a wrong decision.” She said, her words echoing in my heads. I shook it off before I answered.
“No, I know what I'm doing. This is best for him.” I said, but Ruby wasn't ready to back down.
“You know fully well it's not. A wolf growing up in an human world, it can't be right.” Ruby said, and I shook my head immediately.
“I did it and he can also definitely do it too.” I said but I heard her scoff.
“How did yours turn out? Did you like living here?” She asked, leaving me dumbfounded but I wasn't backing down but before I could speak, a large thud came from the kitchen..
I ignored Ruby, rushing towards them in a panic. I sighed, seeing floor allover the place. They was nothing wrong.
I shook my head at the mess, finding their actions absurd before I turned, wanting to grab something to clean up their mess but something flashed before my eyes. What I hadn't paid much attention to before but now seemed weird.
I turned again, praying heavily that it was just my imagination but I was wrong.
