CHAPTER 13: INDECENT PROPOSAL
When he moved, the woman faintly groaned, “B—baby, ohh.”
Top hair was messy and untidy. She virtually has nothing hidden; her back is naked. Her forehead began to perspire. As she enjoyed each stroke of pleasure, her lips parted. She c****d her head to the side and placed it on his shoulder.
Laura Monteverde was in complete happiness as Alexander Salvador continued to manipulate her with his skilled hands and lips, starting at her chest.
She shivered, aware of how close to her peak she was. “G—god, you’re so f*****g good, Alex,” she exclaimed.
“And you’re so f*****g sweet, baby.”
Her spine tingled as she heard his baritone voice.
“You always likes my taste when you f**k me,” Erika chuckled.
Alex and Erika are classmates. They share a common ending. He was expelled for having terrible blood and being cursed, and Erika was banished because she causes problems. If they have anything in common, it’s that they can relate to each other’s loneliness, though neither of them will admit it.
Wealth has no bearing on that location. Not starvation, but loneliness from realizing their family does not accept them, is what kills them. However, the recent call from his mother caused a change. Alexander is aware that she is planning something, though.
He doesn’t care what it is.
He still despised her… them.
Laura yanked herself apart and gave him a close look as she said, “But hello, I heard that you were leaving. Is that right?”
My mum wants to see me, so...”
She hasn’t met Amy, but Laura didn’t feel good hearing some news about the sophisticated woman. “Oh c’mon, we both knew that she’s up to something, Alex.” The renowned Mrs. Salvador is the crown jewel of business moguls.
Alex put his hands on either side of Erika’s head, “I know and that’s what I wanted to find out, Laura.”
The sight of disgust flashed before her eyes, “You can’t be serious.”
“I am.”
For a little moment, they exchanged glances.
“If you go, will you return here later?”
Alex shrugged his shoulder and said, “Depends, if my mother still despised the fact that I was born or if I make some issues at home.”
Laura drew him in and put a gentle kiss on his lips, saying, “I think I like the second one.”
“Alex, I’m going to miss you.”
“Me too, Laura, me too.”
Anna thought that her encounter with Claire would end that day, but it did not. The next morning, she saw her again, but this time, she was seated beside Romanov as if that seat rightfully belongs to her. And or course, everyone including Nancy served her as if she was the one whom their master marries.
Anna joined the table with her face scrunched up.
“Good morning, Anna.” Claire smiled sweetly at her, but she knew better.
Anna knew how fake she is.
In return, she grumbled a low good morning, and ignored Romanov’s penetrating gaze.
“I hope that you likes the food I prepared, Madame.” Nancy was quick on her feet, when Claire took a mouthful.
The latter only smile, “You know that I will always live your food, Nancy.”
That ruined her mood. Anna felt like she lost her appetite, but on the other hand, she forced herself to stay as she was curious on why Claire is here again.
Is she going to pester Romanov again?
As if on cue, Romanov was the one who asked her.
“You did not inform me that you would be here.” His rasp voice made everybody stop what they are doing. “What are you here for, Ms. Lee?”
“You can call me Claire, it wasn’t as if we haven’t had a history, Roman.” Claire chuckled.
She was obviously making sure that Anna would hear it.
The nerve of this woman!
Anna glared at her plate. She could feel a murderous aura emitting from her.
“Besides, I already informed your wife yesterday, didn’t she tell you?” She was clearly making sure that Anna would be on Romanov’s bad side.
She lifted her head.
She really have enough of this woman!
“Excuse me, you didn’t—”
“I was there.” Nancy interfered. Of course, she sided with Claire. “And I am sure that Madame Lee told her, young master.”
“Is that so?” Romanov eyed Anna.
Anna couldn’t believe it!
Are they trying to frame her up?!
“I am not lying!” Anna stood up from her seat. “You clearly didn’t tell me—”
“But oh well, whether I tell your or not, that is not the case now.” Claire dismissed her and turned her attention to Romanov. “I am here to speak with you about something.”
“Speak now, then.” Romanov remain seated.
“Alone.” Claire ended her words. “I wanted to speak with you alone.”
With that said, he snapped his finger and barked an order, “Leave us.”
Nancy alongside with the other servants leave the room, except for Anna who remain there contemplating, but her curious side won. She get back to her seat, as if she did not hear anything at all.
“What are you doing?” Claire frowns.
Anna feign ignorance, “I am eating.” She said, before taking a mouthful to her lips.
Anna succeeded on getting on Claire’s nerves. The woman gritted her teeth.
“I told you that I wanted to speak with Roman alone—”
“Let her be.” Romanov waved his hand.
Claire was in utter disbelief, “But—”
“Now, speak.” But Romanov was firm with his decision.
Left with no choice, Claire did not complain anymore, but when she glanced over her shoulder, she smirked at Anna, “If she insisted then.”
Anna raised her eyebrows, “Evil.” She whispered.
Why does it feels like Claire was plotting something?
Whatever it is, she doesn’t care.
“Well, I am here, because I was sent by my grandfather.” Claire began. “They heard about your wedding and let me tell you that they are not pleas about it.”
More likely her. Anna thought. The way she act, as a woman, Anna knew that Claire likes Romanov. She could have sworn that she may have been hoping to be on her shoes than Anna being there. Claire was absolutely head over heels to her husband.
Claire’s expression became more intent, “Even the elders felt like you have made a mistake, Roman. So, they wanted to propose something.”
Romanov did not speak.
Claire continued. As she cleared her throat, she looked at him in the eye, “They wanted you to file for a divorce and marry...somebody else.”
Anna already have an idea what and whom she was referring to.
“Who?” Romanov returned her gaze.
Claire’s cheeks flushed, but she composed herself, “The elders wants marriage and the woman they see fit for you is...me.”
WHAT?! Anna scandalously screamed inside her head, when she heard her.
Thank god, she wasn’t drinking water!
Anna looked at Romanov. She couldn’t believed it! Why does he seems as if he was considering it?!
“Let me think about it.”
Let me think, my ass!
After what Claire pulled, Anna’s day was totally ruined. She marched all the way from the dining area and towards the garden with a heavy heart. What is she supposed to feel anyway?
Nothing. It should be nothing.
“Damn you!” Angrily, she kicked a stone she found on her tracks, but her tantrums was soon cut off by familiar laughter.
“Oh, you gotta be kidding me.”
The laugh brought her to a rose garden where the flowers were in full bloom as they faced the sun’s golden rays. But here are the two person, who had been ruining her day, and the sight before her.
But it wasn’t Claire, it is absolutely a much gorgeous woman than her.
She was clinging on Romanov’s arms, and she was laughing for whatever reason that Anna don’t want to ask.
Her laughing was quiet and she said, “Oh God, you’re so funny.”
And there was no disputing the fact that she embodied Venus. She moves gracefully while wearing a peach-colored dress that proudly displays her bare shoulder. Her long, silky black hair bounces back freely behind her. She appears to be as fragile as a tulip in a sea of roses.
Anna was stunned for a split second. She was unable to move, but how can she convey the pain she felt deep inside? Why...why did she unwittingly feel upset when she noticed Romanov giving that woman a tender look?
Is this how he put into words that he is still contemplating whether to marry Claire or divorce her?
Anna called him a “bastard” without expressing any emotion.
She was swept off her feet by bitterness. Anna made a U-turn. She was about to leave when she stepped on a twig, which snapped, and who knows what else happened after that. This time, luck seems not to be on her side.
“Roman, I didn't know we had a guest,” It’s her. “I guess Miss Mason?”
She remained still, frozen. She was filled with rage and something she detested even more than anything else. Envy. Jealousy. Her name escaped Romanov Salvador lips, "Anna."
Begrudging anger was diffused.
Her chest twitched.
Anna face the two.
“I had no idea you had a business here,” she said. “I’ll immediately leave the two of you, so don’t worry,”
“But I didn’t tell you to leave, did I?” He spoke in a much chillier tone than previously.
The woman gently touched the man’s shoulder, as if it were enough to console him, “Oh goodness, stop being so rigid, Roman.”
Anna’s face grew stern as her gaze followed her hand. The woman smiles and gives her a quick glance back. “Nice to meet you, Miss Mason. My name is Janine Cordova, CEO of the Cordova Group of Companies.”
Anna pondered. Despite Janine’s lovely smile and sugar-coated remarks, she knew that women like her.
Instead of grinning back, she turned to face Romanov, whose eyes seemed to be warning with her not to do anything. She said, “Oh, watch me,”
Her face was stoic, “I am not needed here.” As stubborn as she is, Anna continues. I wish you a wonderful morning, Mr. Salvador,” Anna said, turning to depart.
‘Huh! Have a nice meal, my ass!
