It hadn’t been that long since we ended our training sessions—only to restart them again—but I still felt a little nervous waiting for Everett’s arrival.
He was at another party last night. Another party to determine who he’d pick for his mate and, more importantly, his future Luna.
Sitting on the ground by our usual meeting spot beside the lake, I hugged my knees to my chest and used a random stick I found to stab and draw random squiggles into the dirt whilst I waited for him, blankly staring ahead at the beauty of the lake and hoping it would soothe me. As much as I tried not to overthink about his evening last night, my mind betrayed me and did exactly that.
