It stung like acid; it felt hot and almost like it was scratching me, trying to claw my eyes open. When I opened my eyes, I didn’t see the door. I couldn’t see anything but a bright light and flashing images of things I didn’t quite understand. A man and a woman, the image of them flashed by too fast for me to register their faces.
