Too many people were shuffling about in the manor, in such a rush that it almost made me feel dizzy. My body was in the centre of the chaos of maids and guards rushing around to fulfil their duties, but my mind was wandering off elsewhere. I could wish and hope to be elsewhere all I wanted, but there was nothing I could do to avoid this any further. My destiny was no longer mine to control.
‘How is the fit, Alpha-son?’ One of the maids, who specialised in tailoring, asked as she fixed the seams of my trousers before coming to a stand and brushing a loose thread off my shoulder. ‘Is it comfortable, or do I need to make further adjustments for you?’
