The Coffee Beanery and Art Studio is a local hangout in a repurposed warehouse. Apparently, it sat vacant for years, a collection place for graffiti and troublemakers, until some successful tech start-up group bought and renovated it into a coffee house-s***h-art-gallery-s***h-performance-venue. Bottom line, it’s amazing. And it’s all ages—they only serve coffee and food—so concert nights are open to everyone. I’ve only been here for one concert before, thanks to my dad’s tight leash, but Lily and Sierra and I have easily spent a year’s allowance each on extra-foam vanilla lattes and their world-famous cookies during our frequent daytime visits.
