Chapter 8 Elephants in Tutus Who knew that something as simple as going into an auditorium with a bunch of other kids could make such a huge difference in my outlook on everything? After only three days of rock school lunchtimes, I had Coach Tosto shaking her head, asking if I’d changed something in my diet or sleep schedule. My split times and overall lap times were better, and she gleefully (well, as gleeful as Coach Tosto can make herself) announced that if I keep up this pace for the district meet, I’ll easily pull myself from tenth to at least sixth or seventh in the overall standings heading into the regional meet. I don’t dare tell her what’s going on. And thankfully, no one on my swim team goes to my school, which means no one here will blab to her about me singing my heart out
