Chapter 6: Fated

1000 Words
The next day, Alpha Stefan remained true to his words and came over like he said he would. With him was a red haired lady with familiar hazel eyes that deepened its stare a little as soon as they landed on Damien. Damien mirrored her expression and a part of him wondered what she was doing with Alpha Stefan. "Greetings, Alpha Damien." Alpha Stefan greeted him with a smile while Damien's eyes remained distracted and quite taken aback by the presence of the lady. "Like I promised, I brought my daughter with me." Alpha Stefan turned his eyes to the lady and gestured that she went ahead and introduced herself. With a small curt bow, the lady greeted. "Greetings, Alpha Damien. My name is Candice and it is a pleasure to finally meet you." Damien only stared at her in disbelief, wondering how a girl who had been his f**k buddy for a long time turned out to be in fact, Alpha Stefan's daughter. The same girl he was supposedly arranged to wed with, courtesy of his father and Alpha Stefan. After Alpha Stefan left the both of them privacy to talk, they took a stroll down the garden. "What a twist of fate." Candice says with a chuckle after they remained in silence for a while. Damien eyed her inquisitively, his eyes taking in her slender frame and the body that had kept his bed warm for many nights ever since he turned single again. "What did you mean by that?" His question was demanding as always. Candice shrugged, a cunning and ambitious smile playing on her lips. "I always knew we were fated to be together as Luna and Alpha." Damien's eyes darkened as she spoke. It annoyed him that the people around him were so stubborn and kept trying to force him into being with another woman even after what happened the other time. If he could, he would cut their mouths off, so they'd never be able to speak again. "I don't want another Luna. How many times have I warned you to restrain from calling yourself that?" His voice had a kind of foreboding warning in it and even though Candice knew he was not the type to play with his words, she never feared him like the others did. Instead, his roughness and hard exteriors turned her on. She gave a girly laugh and played with a strand of her hair. "You know, no other woman can be able to handle you like I can. Much less a slave posing as a Luna." This time, Damien had had enough and he quickly rushed her by the neck, pushing her against the bark of a large oak tree, pinning her frame to it. Even though his rough hold around her neck was hurting, Candice still laughed through the pain. She was Damien's perfect match; equally as crazy and sinister. "Don't you ever call that thing my Luna. I could kill you for it." Damien hisses at her but she only kept on laughing until Damien seeing that she was going to choke from the pressure around her neck, freed her. Candice coughed and fought for air. After she regained herself a couple of seconds later, she continued to laugh, her eyes locked on Damien's. "I am glad she disgusts you this way. At least, you will remain mine forever." …….. That evening, the slaves were tasked to clear the overgrown bushes in the garden and Tessa was allocated her own portion, a little farther from Gwen. Although she didn't like the fact that she was separated from Gwen, she couldn't complain, knowing that she had no freedom of speech or whatever here. This was not the same place she knew growing up and now, she would have to adjust to her new life here. As a slave and as a rejected Luna. As she spent the evening doing her task, she almost jumped off her skin as a voice came behind her. "Do you want any help?" She immediately turned back to see a young man standing behind her, a gentle and good-natured smile on his face. With his royal regalia on and his striking resemblance to the Alpha, she immediately knew he was the Alpha's younger brother that Gewn always talked about. According to Gwen, he was the complete opposite of his older brother and was easy going. She hoped Gwen was right and wasn't merely believing in rumors. "Uh…no." She gulped nervously and looked down out of respect. "Well, you look like you need help. You've got quite a lot of work in your hands." He insisted but Tessa shook her head immediately. "No, sir. I am fully capable of…" And then, her eyes caught the hardcover book in his hand and her words hung in her mouth for a second. "Is that Animal Farm?" This time, she raised her eyes to meet him and she mentally appraised his beautiful features. Just like his older brother, he had jet black hair and a handsome physique. His ocean blue eyes seemed to be smiling at her. "Yes." He lifted the book so that she could get a better look at it. "Would you like to see it?" Tessa looked on skeptically, unsure whether she should even be having this kind of informal conversation with the Alpha's brother in the first place. With the way the Alpha hated her so badly now, she was sure if he saw her together with his brother, he wouldn't let her see the light of the day. Like he said, she was nothing but a dirty slave. "Here. Have it." He forced the book into her hand and just before she could say anything, one of the palace guards hurried to them and informed the young man that he was needed in the palace immediately. "I guess I'll see you some other time. Beautiful." He sent another smile to her and turned his back against her, leaving the garden.
