Chapter 11
“The weekend went by too fast,” Franny complained as her and Olive walked from the school entrance to their first class of the day.
“I hear you, things have been crazy the last two weeks between yearbook, the play, and my normal school work,” Olive agreed.
“I can’t believe I let Bobby convince me to join the Academic Decathlon team. We spent all Saturday quizzing each other. My brain feels like jelly.”
“When do you start to compete?” Olive asked.
“Well, the State Championships aren’t until March, but we will have scrimmages starting the second week of November.” Franny said, sighing. “At least there aren't major tests this week. I think the teachers know that Halloween distracts everyone.”
“Isn’t that the truth,” they both heard Ms. Finney say as they went to their desks.
