Hat Tricks

My dad always had me under his thumb. What I wanted to do didn't matter to him. I busted my ass taking business courses along with Photography courses as well. I love taking pictures. My dad thought it was a waist of time and that I needed to take over for him. See he is the CEO of a major business and he own a hockey team. He is the one with the final say on on who is on the team and who isn't. I was currently standing in my office at his building when my boyfriend called me for a lunch date. I quickly grabbed my purse and headed to our spot. When i got there though he was pacing and I stiffened.

"Hey babe" I say walking up to him

"Lexa tell them" He says to me

"You know I can't. If my dad finds out you will get kicked off the team and he will forbid me from seeing you" I tell him

"Lexa tell them or we are done" He says angrily

"WHat?" I say in shock

"I actually want to date you not date your behind closed doors. I've been patient and now it's time or i'm leaving:" He tells me

"I can't tell them" I say

He bows his head and walks up to me and looks at me with hurt in his eyes.

"Goodbye Lexa" He says and walks around me

He jumps in his truck and leaves and I'm left standing there in shock.

THREE MONTHS LATER

I walked into the bar looking for my friend when I heard the whole hockey team. I ignored them and found Dana and tooka seat.

"Hey girl" She says handing me a shot

I throw it back and pick up her beer.

"Hey" I say

"What happened?" She asks

"He told me to tell them or he was leaving. I said I couldn't and he left" I say shrugging

"I can't blame him" She says and I was in shock

"What?" I say

"He has been patient. THe no s*x rule, the no going out to dinner in public he done that all for you and you couldn't grow a back bone and tell your own parents. You have no say so in your own life Lexa" She tells me

"I gotta go" I mumble

I stand and walk towards the door when i bump into someone. I stagger back and hands catch me. I look up to see Devin standing there.

"Woah Lexa you ok?" He asks

"Fine. I'm headed home" I say

"Need a ride?" He asks

'It's ok" I say

"COme on i'll drop you. I'm headed to Holly's anyways" He says

"OK thanks" I mumble

He nods and wraps a arm around my shoulders and leads me to his jeep. I climb in and he drives to my house. On the way there my phone starts ringing and it's my dad.

"Hello" I say

"Where are you?" He asks

"On my way home. Devin is dropping me before he goes to Holly's" I say

"COme to the house" He says and hangs up

"Dev can you drop me at my parents?" I ask

He nods and drives towards their house when we pull up I thank him and jump out and head inside. I walk in and find my mom and dad sitting in the living room. I quickly send for a Uber and I walk over standing there waiting.

"What?" I ask

"Is it true you are dating Asher?" My dad asks

"What?" i ask

"IS it true?" He snaps at me

"You know what it's none of your business. You have tried to control me for years and I'm f*****g done." I scream at him

"Young lady watch your tone." My dad says

"f**k you. I'm done. I'm moving. I'm taking the job at Fury as their photographer" I say smirking

"You will do no such thing" My dad says

"I'm leaving" I say grabbing my phone

"Lexa stop" My mom

"No mom. You have let dad do this to me for years. I deserve my own life. My own family. I'm 25 and I want a relationship and I refuse to let him control me any longer. I'm leaving and I don't want to see either of you again" I say and leave

I get in the uber and take it back to the bar. When i walk in I spot Asher but he isn't alone. He has a blonde girl in his lap kissing her.

"Lexa" Dana shouts

Asher head whips around and looks at me and I shake my head and turn around and leave.

"Lexa stop" ASher yells

I jump in a cab and head to my apartment. WHen i get there I start packing my stuff. About a hour later someone is banging on my door. I walk over and open it to see Asher standing there panting.

"What?" I say harshly

"Can we talk?" He asks

"No. YOu said everything you need to say and I have to pack" I say

"What packing?" He asks pushing past me

He looks around in shock at my packed apartment and spins around looking at me.

"I'm moving. I took a job as Fury's photographer." I say shrugging

"When did this happen?" He asks

"Two weeks ago. I told my dad and mom tonight. I'm leaving tomorrow" I say

"What?" He says in shock

"Yeah. s**t happened I told them and i'm leaving. There is nothing keeping me here" I say shrugging

My phone rings and I answer it.

"Hey Mr. Hale" I say

"Lexa i'm sorry it's so late but my dumb team got the dates backwards and they are about to be at your place" He tells me

"That's alright. They can crash here and we can leave tomorrow as planned. I'm still packing" I say

"Alright good. Also I checked in own your apartment today and I had to move you to a better place. There was no way a member of my team was staying in that dump" He says

"Mr. Hale it's what I can afford" I tell him

"Lexa your housing is paid for. It was in your contract sweetheart. I got you a better place in one of the buildings one of the players is in just encase something happens someone is close to you. We are a big family here and we take care of each other." He tells me sternly

"Yes sir. That just means your gonna let me cook you and that wife dinner one night since you moved me right?" I ask

"If it would make you feel better than absolutely" He says chuckling

"Alright see you tomorrow" I hang up

THere is a knock on the door and I walk over and open it to find five huge guys standing there.

"Lexa?" One asks

"HI. I'm Kane. This is Josh, Blake, Boomer and Grant" He says

"Well come on in." I say letting them in

"Oh we can wait outside" Grant says

"Nonsense Devin was leaving" i say eyeing him

He sighs but leaves and I shut and lock the door.

"Alright i'm still packing so make yourselves at home" I say to them

"Mind if we order some food?" Boomer asks

"I already did that. Chinese in ten" I say smirking

"Oh wow ok good" Josh says

"Need any help?" Grant asks

"Ya'll can start in the kitchen and i'll finish my room" I say

They nod and get to work and ten minutes of being in my room I find several of Devins things so I grab them up and stomp into the living room and throw them in a bag and set it by the door. I pace back a forth when a throat clears and I jump.

"I forgot yall were here" I say

"Everything ok?" Grant asks

"Just some of my ex's things that need to get gone." I grumble

"Bad breakup?" Josh asks

"If you knew my parents then you would understand. He wanted me to tell them and i refused so he left. I told them to go f**k themselves tonight and here we all stand" I say

"I'm sorry. Want a hug? I'm a hugger. Looks like you could use one" Josh says

I open my arms and he comes over hugging me tightly. I sigh and pull back from him.

"OK i feel better now. That actually helped. Thanks" i say

"No problem. All their girlfriends hug me when they piss them off. Says a gay best friend helps" He says shrugging

"No f*****g way your gay" I say in shock

"I am" He says

"What how?" I ask quickly

"Um I just am" He says shrugging

"WHo has girlfriends?" I ask

"Boomer is married, Blake is engaged and some of the others have girlfriends. Kane, Grant, Cal and Jake are all single" Josh tells me

"Alright. Know i need to put faces to names. Good lord I never thought starting over would have me outta whack" I say

There is a knock on the door so i run over and open it and pay for food. I place everything on the table and we all dig in.

'Damn girl" Kane says

"What?" I ask

"You can eat" He says

"I love food. No one will stand in my way of my food. I work out five days a week so i can look like this and still eat" I say

"You work out?" Kane asks

I stand and lift my shirt showing off my abs and his jaw drops.

"And yes before you ask i can skate as well." I say smirking at his shock

"Really?" Grant asks

"Yup. Boys there are four sides of me. One who is professional asf, two who works out, three is the I don't care look and four is the after s*x look" I say smirking

"Well alright then" Grant says

"Coach says I'm living in the same building with someone. Anyone know who?" I ask

"Um it's probably me" Grant says looking shocked

"Well alrighty then." I say

I finish eating and then i get back to pack and by midnight I was asleep. When I woke up the next morning I was being shaken awake.

"Lexa" I hear

"What?" I moan out

"Time to go sunshine." I hear

"Yeah ok. Someone is driving my vehicle back. I'm exhausted" I mumble

"Yeah ok that's fine. Get dressed and i'll have coffee waiting" He says

I grumble and get up and throw on some leggins and a t shirt and I sleep on some shoes and head out to the kitchen.

"Morning cinderella" Josh says

I flip him the bird and grab Grant's mug from his hand taking a big gulp from his cup. I moan with my eyes closed and I hear chuckles.

"Do not judge me right now. So who is driving what?" I ask

"Well i'm driving the truck back" Grant says

"Good. Kane can drive mine and someone can ride with you and JOsh can ride back with us so I can sleep on him" I say taking another gulp

"Well alright then. See anything we missed last night?" Grant asks

I look around and walk over and look around and shake my head. I go ove3r and grab my bag and my keys. I lock up and we head down to the moving truck. Grant and Blake get in the moving truck and take off.

"Where is your car?" Kane asks

I smirk and click the button and lights on my huge truck flash. Kane looks at it with his jaw dropped and I giggle a bit.

"If you crash my baby I swear to god you will never skate again" I say growling a bit

"Yes ma'am" He says

"Boomer you can ride up front if you want. I'm just sleep on the way back" I say

He nods and climbs in and me and Josh climb in the back. I pull out my blanket and kick my shoes off and curl up into his side closing my eyes. I feel him chuckle and wrap a arm around me and I sigh.

"Lexa can we turn on music?" Boomer asks

"I don't care but no to loud" I mumble

He says something but I don't hear it cause I was already back asleep. I don't know how long I slept but when i woke up I was on a couch. I got up and stretched and I hear some laughs. I walk over and see all the guys sitting around talking.

"Hey sunshine" JOsh says

"HI" I grumble

"Sleep good?" He asks

"I did actually. YOur quiet comfy" I say plopping down on a bar stool

"Ready to see your place?" Grant asks

"Give me five to wake up" I say rubbing my eyes

The continue talking and then I finally stand up and we head to my place. We had to take one floor up and Grant unlocked my door and pushed it opened. I stepped in and gasped.

"We got everything put away while you were sleeping. We didn't do your bedroom or bathroom stuff. To personal" Josh says

"Thank you. I don't know why but i'm so tired" I say yawning

"No sleeping. Get ready and we will be back in a hour to introduce you to the rest of the team" Grant says

"Where we going?" I ask

"The rink" He says

"Can we go for a skate?" I ask

"Sure." He says

I smile and run off to my bedroom and get ready. I throw on some jeans that hug my ass nicely and a cute long sleeve sweater that was also low cute showing off my cleavage a bit. I slipped on my knee high boots and I grabbed my skates and my jacket and placed them on the couch. I quickly curled my hair and done my make up and then there was a knock on the door. I walked over and opened it to find Kane standing there. I walked over grabbing all my stuff and he takes my skates but hands me my bag and my keys. We head in and I climb in my truck and he tells me where to go. We pull up to the rink and we head inside.

"Boys" Coach shouts

"Yes couch" The come walking over

"This little lady is Lexa. She is our new photographer." Coach says

"Hi guys" I say

"Wait Lexa Luther?" Someone asks

"Yup thats me. And no don't ask about my father" I say sternly

"Alrighty then" Someone says

"Hey coach mind if I go for a skate?" I ask

He jerks his chin in a go on manner. I see the speaker so I connect my bluetooth and then I sit down pulling off my shoes and then Kane hands me my skates and I slip them on and lace them up. I turn on one of my favorite songs and step onto the ice and I take off. I can see all them watching and I smirk. I quickly throw my leg out spinning around and then bringing it in spinning faster. I stop quickly and look at them. THey were all standing there with their jaws dropped and I giggle.

"Well come on" i say

They all put their skates on and meet me on the ice. We were all skating and Josh was stopped talking to one of the guys so I take off full speed at him and he notices so when i got close he scooped me up spinning us around. I was full of giggles and chuckles ring out.

"I have a feeling i'm gonna love it here" I say

"Why is that?" Josh asks

"Well so far your my favorite" I say winking at him as he sits me down

"Hey" They guys ring out

"Hey he let me sleep on him" I say smirking

"YOu know how to play?" Boomer asks

"Bring me a stick" I say

He brings me one and drop a puck in front of him. I swing it around and spin around him skating to the other end and I stop and flip the puck up on my stick and I bounce it up and down on the end of the stick and I start back towards them and then i pick up speed and spin around a few of them and then i send the puck flying into the net. I skate to Boomer and hand him the stick back as the all stare at me like i grew several heads.

"Yes Boomer. I know how to play" I say and skate off

Next thing I knew I was in the air spinning around.

"Grant put me down" I screech

He chuckles and places me back down on my feet.

"Lets go get some drinks" I say

I skate over and pull my skates off and slip my boots back on. I slid my jacket on and pick up my skates and we had out. I drive to a bar and we head in. I ditch my jacket and take a seat in a booth. Josh sits by me and the other file around us. Shots were placed on the table and Josh passes me one and I throw it back and sigh. When I look up all the guys are looking at me.

"What?" I ask

"Damn" Kyle says

"I like a drink just as good as the next person" I say

One of my favorite songs comes on so I push Josh out and pull him to the dance floor with me. He dances with me and soon a man walks up to us.

"Can I cut in?" He asks

"Of course" I say

"Lexa" Josh says

"Don't worry about it. I'll go grab Kane or Grant" I say

He sighs but nods and I head over to the table.

"Where is josh?" Kane asks

"Dancing with some dude" I say shrugging

"Oh" THe guys say

"So who is gonna come dance with me?" I ask

Everyone looks at me but no one moves.

"Oh come on. I promise i'll keep my hands to myself" I say smirking

"I will"Grant says sighs

"Don't sound so enthusiastic about it. Don't do me no favors. I'm gonna head home" I say picking up my keys

I walk out the door and jump in my truck and drive back to my apartment. ONce I was in I jumped in the shower warming up when someone starts banging on my door. I jump out wrapping my silk robe around me and running to the door. I yank it open and Kane and Grant stand there.

'What the hell?" I snap

"We were worried" Grant says

"Well as you can see i'm fine. Can I finish my shower in peace?" I snap at them

THe look down and their eyes widen at my wet white silk robe. I look down and see my robe is see through.

"Eyes up here mister" I snap

THeir eyes snap to my face and the stalk forward and close the door behind them.

"What are you doing?" I ask

"Well you see sunshine Kane and I like to share our girlfriends." Grant says to me

"No way not happening" I say backing up

Grant grabs me and I gasp and he kisses me. I jump back smacking the f**k out of him.

"Get the f**k out" I snarl at him

He stands there shocked but they leave and I lock my door. I finish my shower and crawl into bed. When i get up the next morning I head into the office but first I wanted to talk to the coach.

"Coach" I say knocking on the door

"Come in" He says

I walk in and Grant was in there. I stopped in my tracks and sighed.

"Can I speak with you privately?" I ask

"SUre" He says

Grant leaves and closes the door.

I sit down and place my head in my hands and take a deep breath.

"Lexa" He says

My breathing picks up and I start hyperventilating. He comes around and kneels in front of me and shouts for someone. The door is thrown open and his wife runs in.

"Lexa sweetheart I need you to breathe honey" She tells me

I take a deep breath and exhale slowly. Once I was breathing normal again they sat waiting for me to talk.

"Does this have anything to do with what Grant told me?" Coach asks

"He kissed me after I said no" I tell him

MY hands were shaking badly and Mrs. Hale grabbed my hand and squeezed softly.

"Robert you can't possibly believe what he said. SHe isn't lying. Look how shaken up she is. YOu can fake this" She snaps at him

"Lexa who else was there?" Mrs. Hale asks

"Kane. He didn't touch me or anything but he was there" I mumble

"Come on let's go get to the bottom of this" Mrs. Hale says

She helps me from my chair and wraps a arm around me and leads me to the ice. All the guys were out there and coach called them over.

"Something has been brought to my attention. Last night something happened In lexa's apartment and two members of the team were there. NOw i've heard both sides of the story so Kane want to put the truth out there?" Coach asks

"Coach I told you what happened" Grant growls out

"Yes and Lexa had the right to tell her side. Now you left out that Kane was there" Coach roars at him

I flinch and Mrs. Hale holds on to me tightly. I was shaking bad and Josh come towards me slowly and when he got in front of me he lifted my chin and my eyes teared more.

"What the f**k did you do?" Josh roars at Grant

"He grabbed her and kissed her after she said no and she slapped the f**k out of him" Kane says speaking up

"I will f*****g kill you" Josh roars

I grab on him and he looks at me and I shake my head at him. He wraps his arm around me and halls me into his side.

"Grant your suspended until we can trade you" Coach says

"What?" He shouts

"You should learn that when a lady says no she means no. YOu best be glad she isn't pressing charges." Coach roars

Grant shrinks back and I sniffle.

"Coach i'm taking her home" Josh says

"Go on. Practice is cancelled today." He says

All the guys come towards us ignoring Grant.

"Honey are you ok?" Blake asks

"I think so" I whisper

"What do you say we go to my house and we can watch a movie in the theater room or we can go for a swim or sleep whatever you wanna do" Boomer suggests

"Yeah sure ok" I say

"Come on i'm driving" Josh says

I follow them to the locker room and I stop not wanting to enter but Boomer pulls me inside and places me on one side of the wall so I can't see them but they knew I was there. Ten minutes later we were on the way to Boomer's. All the guys filed in and ten minutes later the door opens a few women walk in.

"Hey babe" Luke says to a girl

"Hi babe" She says

"Hannah this is Lexa. She is our photographer. Lexa I called the girls encase you needed some female time" Luke tells me

"THanks." I mumble

"What happened?" Hannah asks

"Grant forced himself on her and tried to blame her but Kane was there and backed her" Josh snarls

"Oh my god. Are you ok?" Another girls asks grabbing my hand

I snatch my hand back and she looks shocked.

"I'm sorry. I'm still jumpy" I whisper

"Honey it's fine. Come on let's get you in something comfy and we will watch a movie" Boomer says

I take his hand and he leads me to a big bedroom and walks in his closet and comes back with a t shirt and some basketball shorts.

"Lock the door and i'll wait outside for you. Just leave your clothes on the bed" He tells me

I nod and he closes the door and I lock it and change. when I open the door he walks back in and in the closet and comes back out in some basketball shorts and a white tank top. He takes me hand and leads me down to the theater room. I look around and notice Josh. He opens his arms and I smile softly and walk over and crawl on the couch by him and sink into his side. Boomer turns on Avengers and I smile softly. Half through the movie I feel myself dosing off and then a blanket is laid over me. Some time later I could hear people talking softly.

"I hope she's gonna be ok" Josh says softly

"She will be. Just give her some time to bounce back." Someone else says

"Her first night here was shit." Kane says

Just hums and I moan softly and stretch out a bit running my arm across his stomach. I peek my eyes open to see everyone looking at me.

"What?" I grumble

"Enjoying yourself?" Josh asks

I look up at him and he looks down and i see i'm tracing his abs.

"Hey i like abs sue me. Besides at least I can admire yours with you thinking i'm trying to sleep with you" I say smiling at him

He chuckles and kisses the top of my head. I pat his stomach and stand up and stretch.

"Girl i got some clothes here if you wanna barrow something. Your swimming in Boomers stuff" Hannah says

"I'm good. I'm comfy." I say sitting back down.

"Why the hell is she in your clothes?" A woman yells out

"Amanda what are you doing here?" Boomer snarls at her

"I live here" She screeches

"No the f**k you don't. I made it clear last week" He snaps

"But" She starts

"Do they know Amanda? Do they know what you did?" Boomer roars

"Don't do this" She says

"What happened?" Hannah asks suddenly

"Your oh so amazing friend is a w***e" Bommer snaps

"What?" Hannah says gasping

"YOu know the last away game well I come home early for find her f*****g another man in my bed. I tossed her out on her flat naked ass with her clothes she came with. Everything I bought her I donated to a women's shelter." Boomer says

"Get out amanda." Hannah says

"Hannah" Amanda cries

"We don't know you" Carley says

Hannah leads Amanda out and shuts and locks the door. She then calls security and explains to them what is happening and they nod along listening to her instructions. She comes back in and I walk out the back door to find Boomer pacing. I walk over to him and he looks at me. I open my arms and he walks over hugging me. I was way shorter than him so my feet dangled but I didn't care.

"I'm so sorry" I whisper

"I'm over it but I was tired of covering for her" He says

He places me back on my feet and wraps a arm around my shoulders and leads me back inside.

"Can I ask a favor?" I ask him

"Of course?" He says

"Could I crash here til Grant is gone?" I ask softly

"Of course." He says

"Thank you" I tell him

He kisses the top of my head and leads us back to everyone.

"Josh can you do me a favor?" I ask

"Sure babe" He says

"could you run to my place and pack me some stuff. Boomer said I could stay here til Grant is gone. I don't wanna be close to him at all" I say softly

"Of course." he says

"I'll go with im and pack your clothes and he can get everything else" Hannah suggests

"I'm fine either way. I can make you a list so it's easier" I say

Boomer hands me a pen and paper and I get to writing. Once I was done I handed it over to her and she nodded and they left.
