He found you

I was slapped so hard I hit the floor. I was kicked over and over again. I refused to scream to give him more reasons to hit me. Once he was done I limped to my room and locked my door. I laid down on my bed and dosed off trying to ignore the pain. The next day I showered and covered as many bruises as I could. I got up and hurried to my job at the diner.

"Hey Mel" Scoot calls

"Hey Scotty" I mumble

I get to work and a few hours goes by and the bell dings signaling someone come in. I grabbed my pen and note pad and walked over. I looked up and gasped.

"What can I get ya?" I ask with a small smile

"Coffee" He grumbles

I nod and walk off and get it and as I go towards his table a man grabs me harshly.

"Back off Tank" The man at the table growls

The huge man lets me go and I whimper and scurry over placing his coffee down. I go to leave and he catches my wrist. I turn slowly and look at him.

"Are you alright?" He asks softly

"Fine" I say with a nod

"If anyone touches you again let me know" He tells me

"Thank you" I whisper

"Anytime" He says

"Can I get you anything else?" I ask

"No thanks sweetheart" He says

I nod and walk off. I finished my shift and headed home. Once I walked through the door I was hit and I screamed out not expecting it. I got up and ran out the back door and straight to the hospital.

"Help" I cry out holding my bleeding head and arm

A nurse rushes over and helps me to a room and bed. She calls the cops once I asked and they come in and I tell them what happened. I called Scott to let him know I wouldn't be in the next day. I was laying in bed drugged up pain meds when the man from he diner steps in my room. I stiffen and he chuckles.

"It's ok sweetheart. I'm not here to hurt you. Scott called me. Wanna tell me what happened?" He asks softly

"Why should I? I don't know you" I grumble

"Fair enough. My name is Stefan Currso" He says

My eyes widen and he chuckles again.

"s-sorry" I stutter out

"Don't go being afraid of me now. I like your bluntness and attitude. It's good to have those things." He tells me

"My um stepdad" I mumble

"How long?" He asks

"Three years since my mom left" I say not looking at him

"Why did you stay?" He asks

"I didn't have anywhere to go" I say looking out the window

"Would you leave if you could?" He asks

I nod and peek at him sitting in the chair by my bed and sigh. The door is thrown open and I jump and release a squeal.

"One little one. It's alright. Tank" Stefan growls

"Sorry little bit. Didn't mean to startle you. Um we have a problem" Tank says

"My stepdad" I whisper

Tanks eyes widen and he looks at me in shock.

"How the hell?" He says

"I tried to run before" I whisper

"I'll deal with him. Tell the boys to pack the little ones things. Is there anything else in the house you want?" He asks me

"My mother's bow. It's in the attic labeled old toys" I says softly

" I'll get it. That it?" Tank asks

I nod and he nods and leaves and I sigh and lean back groaning. I grip my ribs and Stefan jumps forward helping me lay down. A nurse walks in and gasps.

"Mr. Currso. We didn't know you were here. I'm sorry" she says

"No problem Natalie. How is our girl doing?" He asks

"She has a concussion, bruising over 80% of her body and a few cracked ribs" She says eyeing my

"It's ok" I mumble

"Thank you Natalie" Stefan says

"Can I have more meds now?" I ask her

"Sure sweetie. I'll be back. Would you like something to drink?" She asks

"Coke or apple juice" I say

She nods and leaves and comes back ten minutes later with both.

"We didn't have neither so I ran to the vending machine" She tells me

"You didn't have to do that. I would have taken whatever" i say

"Nonsense. Now let's get you set up. I'm off in twenty minutes so i'll bring you dinner and we could hang out til you fall asleep if you would like" She tells me

"I would like that" I say looking at Stefan

"Go ahead. I'll have someone bring you some clothes and then we will get you both out of here" He says standing up

"Stay til she gets back please" I say

"Of course. And Nat you ain't gotta be so professional" He tells her winking

"Fine Stef. I just don't want those sluts thinking it's ok to do it" She says huffing

I gaps and she giggles and he chuckles.

"Sweetheart Natalie is my sister" He tells me

"No wonder you two look so much alike. I thought I was going crazy" I say

"We are twins honey" She says with a smile

"Hot twins" I say smiling

Stefan starts coughing and Natalie dies laughing.

"What?" I ask

"Hot twins?" Natalie says

"I'm BI. Sue me" I say shrugging and then crying out from my ribs

"Alright you relax and i'll be back and help you dress and then we are getting out of here" She says

I nod and lay back closing my eyes.

"Hot hmm?" Stefan says and I head the smirk in his voice

"Oh don't start" I grumble

He chuckles and I look over at him.

"Why?" I ask

"Because I can" He says with a tight voice

I laid there watching him while he watched me. Natalie come back in with a bag and sighed.

"Alright you get out" She tells him

He nods and stands and leave and she helps me get dressed. She gets me to the SUV and we drive off. It takes thirty minutes to get to a huge house and I sigh. Natalie helps me out and when I see the huge steps up to the house I gulp harshly. I knew my ribs would protest.

"May I?" I hear behind me

I turn and see Tank and nod. He leans down and lifts me gently into his arms and carries me up the stairs. He walks through the front door and places me on my feet and it jolts me to much and I cry out loudly. As soon as I did that a bunch of men and women ran in.

"s**t short stuff i'm sorry" Tank says

"Not your fault. I stood to quickly" I grumble gripping his arm harshly

"You alright?" Stefan asks

I hold up a finger and people gasp and I breathe through the pain. I finally stand up and nod.

"Yeah. I'm good" I say

"alright let's introduce you and then get you in bed" He says

"OK" I whisper

"Everyone listen up. This is Melody. She will be staying with us from now on. You treat her with the respect you treat me with" Stefan roars

I flinch and grab Tanks arm. He taps Stefan and nods at me and curses.

"Barb could you run us a hot bath?" He says while looking at me

"Of course sir." She says

He leans down and lifts me into his arms and I stiffen and he carries me upstairs and into a huge room. I could see my things in boxes sitting around. He takes me to the bathroom to see Barb running a bath in a huge tub. He sits me softly on the counter and Barb turns to look at me and Stefan.

"Anything else MIss?" She asks

"First it's Melody please. Second could you help me you know?" I ask

"Of course. Master Stefan please step out" She says to him

"Of course. I'll send Natalie up to unpack for you" He says

I nod and he leaves and Barb helps me undress and get into the tub. She didn't comment on my bruises which I was thankful for.

"Miss Melody I don't wan to push but the master didn't do this right?" She asks softly

I shake my head and she nods and washes my hair for me.

"It's been so long since someone washed my hair" I mumble

"What about you momma?" She asks

"She died when i was ten" I mumble

"Oh sweetheart i'm so sorry" She whispers

She helps me wash and then helps me out and helps me dress. Once I was tucked in bed I noticed Natalie unpacked all my things. It wasn't a lot but they were mine. Stefan knocks on the door and I sigh.

"Come in" I say

He walks in and sits on the end of the bed and looks at me.

"Anything you need?" He asks

I look around and sigh but didn't want to be selfish.

"What is it?" He asks patting my leg

"Could we get a TV in here? I'm stuck in this bed for at least a week and I will die of boredom" I say

"Of course. Anything else?" He asks

"Could we call Scott? I'm craving one of his burgers" I say smiling

"Sure. I'll send Tank to get you one. Also Nat is gonna come in and do some online shopping with you. Make this room how you want it. Also your buying more clothes." He says

"Stefan I don't need them" I say

"Yes you do. All your clothes are gone" He says standing up

"What?" I shriek and then grab my ribs groaning

"He burned them" He tells me

My bottom lip trembles and he sighs and sits down by my and holds my hand.

"Hey beautiful let's get some shopping down." Natalie says walking in

"Order her a tv, lap top and phone" He says and leaves

Natalie crawls in bed with me and we start shopping. By time we were done we had spent thousands upon thousands of dollars and I was nervous for spending so much.

"Honey relax. He isn't going to care. His black card doesn't have a limit. He told me to use it. It seems my brother is smitten with you." She says

I stiffen and bite my tongue. I yawn and scoot down laying my head down.

"Get some sleep babe. Hit the blue button if you need Barb and red is mine. Green is Stefan if you need him" She says nodding to the table

I nod and she kisses the top of my head and leaves the room. I fell asleep in the middle of the night I woke up thirsty so I got up and slowly made my way downstairs. I groaned the whole way but I made it. I was pouring me some apple juice when I was spun around quickly and I released a scream and dropped my glass causing it to shatter.

"Stefan" I scream

The man shoves me hard into the counter an stalks towards me.

"Freeze" His voice booms

I was trembling and then a shot is fired and the man hits the floor. I was shaking so bad I was crying and holding my side. Natalie stood there with a gun in her hand fuming mad. Stefan ran in and groaned.

"Mel baby stay where you are" He tells me

I whimper cause I had cut my foot. Everyone comes running in and curses.

"Take him out" Natalie commands

Two men nod and yank the man up and drag him out. Natalie walks over and jumps on the counter and over the side and over to me slowly.

"Your ok babe. Let's get you out of here" She says laying her gun down

She picks me up and I whimper and she walks out of the kitchen with me. She places me on the couch and Stefan walks back in with Barb. She gasps and rushes over to me. She looks over my foot and removes the glass and I whimper in pain.

"What were you doing down here sweetheart?" she asks

"I was thirsty and it was so late I didn't wanna wake anyone" I mumble

"Mel sweetie I told you to buzz someone. It's what we are for" Natalie scolds me

I flinch and she sighs.

"It's ok sweetheart. Next time just buzz ok" Stefan says eyeing Natalie

"I'm sorry. You scared us" She tells me

"Alright all better. Now missy you better use that buzzer it's what it is for" Barb scolds me

"Yes ma'am. Sorry" I say

"Now back to bed. I'll bring your juice up" She says

I nod and go to stand and Stefan scoops me up and I whimper and he stiffen.

"Sorry" He says in my ear

He carries me to my room and lays me down and Barb walks in with my juice and I gulp it down and sigh.

"Damn you were thirsty" Stefan says

"It happens every night" I say

"well we will get you a mini fridge in here for your stuff. THe boys will eat and drink all your stuff if it's in there" He says with a chuckle

i slump down and yawn.

"Go back to sleep" he says and leaves

TWO WEEK TIME SKIP

I had still been skiddish and wouldn't leave the house. Natalie said I was healing fine and turned my room into a room for a queen and I sighed. I decided to cook dinner for everyone. I went to the kitchen and kicked Barb out giving her the night off. She didn't want to leave but I insisted. She left with a sigh and I got to cooking. I turned on my music and sang along as I cooked. As I was pulling the lasagna out of the over I spun around to see all the guys including Stefan standing there watching me. I froze and stopped singing mid sentence.

"Um HI" I say clearing my throat

"What are you doing?" Tank asks

"Um cooking you dinner" I say

"Why?" Stefan asks

"Um because I can" I say in confusion

"What did you make?" Another man asks

"Lasagna, salad, garlic bread" I say scared now

"Holy s**t. Boss she's perfect" Another says clapping him on the back

"Could we do anything?" Another asks

"Set the table?" I say

He nods and they run off to do as asked but Stefan stands there watching me.

"Problem? I gave Barb the night off. I wanted to cook. It's a good stress reliever for me" I whisper

"Not at all princess. Cook all you want but you didn't have to cook for us" He tells me

"I wanted to. I love me some Italian" I say

He chuckles and I hear the guys chuckle.

"What?" I say

"We are Italian babe. What you said sounded dirty" Natalie says walking in

"Oh s**t" I say shaking my head

"Yeah" She says

"You nasty perverts. Get your heads out the butter or i'll eat it all" I call out

"Yes ma'am" They all grumble

Natalie laughs and kisses my cheek and helps me take the food to the table. I notice the seat by Stefan is the only one open so I shrug and sit down.

"Well don't just sit there ear" I say

They all take a bite and moan and I giggle.

"Oh we love you. Barb may be out of a job" One man says

"She will not" I shriek

Everyone looks at me in a what the f**k look.

"Babe he was joking. Barb has been with us for years. She isn't going anywhere" Stefan tells me

"Do not play with me. I will cut your tongue out mister" I say pointing my fork at him

He gulps and nods and Stefan chuckles.

"Don't laugh at me. That woman has become my mother. I will hurt you" I say pointing my finger at him

The whole room goes tense and Natalie dies laughing.

"Hey calm down little bird. We know. It's ok. Barb isn't going anywhere" Natalie tells me

"Sorry" I grumble

"Holy s**t" Tank says

"No cursing at the dinner table Tank. You know better" I snap

"Sorry. Your right. My mama would whack me one" he says

"Little bird your making our men soft" Natalie says

"I am doing no such thing" I say with a pout

Chuckles ring out and I take a bite of my lasagna and moan softly. When I look up everyone is looking at me.

"What? I'm good" I say taking another bite

"Hey little bird wanna go for a ride?" Natalie asks

"Horses?" I say grinning

"Yeah" She says

"I would love to" I say grinning

"Her ribs?" Stefan says

"She's fine." Natalie says

He nods and we finish eating. Once we were done I got up to start cleaning.

"Go on little one we will clean up" Tank says

I nod and me and Natalie run out. On our ride I got to thinking and sighed.

"Hey Nat" i say

"Yeah babe" She says

"Can you teach me how to defend myself?" I ask looking at her

"Sure" She says

"Natalie i'm serious. I wanna do my best. I need to be able to do it if I need to" I tell her

"We will start tomorrow." She tells me

I nod an we head back. We hand the horses off and Natalie disappears.

A MONTH LATER

I was covered in sweat and just had taken Tank down.

"Holy s**t girl you have gotten good" He says pulling me up from the floor

"What is the meaning of this?" Stefan roars coming in the door

"I asked Natalie and Tank to teach me to defend myself" I say facing him

"Tank out" Stefan growls

"No. He didn't do anything wrong. I needed to be able to defend myself. You have no idea what it feels like to be helpless." I snap at him

"Boss I'm sorry. She begged and it's hard to say no to. She pulled the puppy eyes." Tank says

"that's not the point. You three lied to me" Stefan shouts

"No we didn't. We didn't tell you. It's totally different" I say

"stop" He shouts me

"NO you stop Stefan. Do you know what's it's like to be held down while your stepfather and his buddies have their way with you? No the f**k you don't." I say letting a tear slip down my face

His face softens and I wipe away another tear.

"Oh baby bird" Tank says beside me

"Don't don't pull the pity card cause I don't f*****g want it. I knew you all would look at me different. I don't want to talk about it or think about it so just leave me alone" I shout an push past them

I run past Barb who doesn't say anything thankfully.

Barb's POV

"Stefan Currso what in the holy hell is wrong with you? So what if the girl wanted to learn some self defense? At least she went to your most trusted people. You better go say sorry to that girl or I will starve you" I snap at him

"Barb" He says sighing

"Nope go right now" I say pointing out the door

He nods and heads upstairs.

Stefan's POV

I sigh and head upstairs. I walk in her room and here the shower running. I walk in and lean against the counter waiting for her to notice me.

"HOly s**t" She squeals placing a hand over her heart

"Sorry" I say chuckling

"Are you trying to give me a heart attack? I about died" She says harshly

"Didn't mean to almost kill you. I'm sorry I lost my s**t. I guess I was kinda hurt cause you didn't ask me" I tell her

Melody's pov

"Actually if you would have waited I was gonna ask you to teach me how to shoot but now I don't know if i want your help" I say pouting

"Come on you little pain in my ass. Get out and we will head down" He says chuckling

"Pass me my towel" I say

I turn off the water and reach out the door and grab it and wrap it around me. I open the door and step out and slip and I squeal as I slip but arms catch me and I look up to see Stefan looking down at me. He leans down more and I look at him and then his lips and then his eyes again and I lean up sealing our lips together. He groans and I moan into his mouth when his tongue flicks my bottom lip. I open up and he snakes his tongue in my mouth. He spins me and hoist me onto the bathroom counter still kissing me. There is a knock on the bedroom door and I pull back suddenly.

"Get dressed" He commands and leaves

I quickly get dresses in some leggings that hug my ass nicely and a sports bra and a loose fitting workout shirt. I slip on my shoes and head downstairs. I come to a sudden stop seeing some woman kissing Stefan. I grew angry and walk past them and I felt him jerk away and follow my back.

"Hey Tony" i call

"Yes little one" He says walking in

"You the Sarg right?" I ask

"I guess you could say that. Why?" He asks

"Could you teach me how to shoot?" I ask batting my eyelashes

"No need for the extra but yes" he says

i skip over to him and he wraps a arm around my shoulders and we walk out while i ignore Stefan. Tony leads me to the range and I gulp nervously.

"It's ok little one. We will start you out small" He says chuckling

"I've never done this" I say

"That's ok." he says

He pulls out three small guns and lays them out and then gives me ear muffs and protection glasses. I slip them on and he places my on a X on the floor.

"Alright take this. don't be scared it won't bite." He says

I nod and take it and sigh.

"Now take your aim" He says in my ear

I raise it up holding it with both hands. He fixes my fingers and then places his hands on my shoulders.

"She the target, inhale and on exhale pull the trigger" He tells me

I nod and do as he says picturing that b***h on the target and I hit the bulls eye.

"HOly s**t kitten. That was amazing. are you sure you never done this before?" He asks

"First time ever" i mumble

"Go again" He says

I nod and fire again and I unload the clip and the I lay the gun down. He takes my ear muffs off and spins me around chuckling.

"That was amazing kitten" he says sitting me down

I sniffle and he lifts my chin up just a tear slips down my face.

"Oh kitten what's wrong?" He asks with concern

"He kissed me and I come down to find him kissing her" I say sniffling

"he what?" He roars and takes off

I run after him and just as he gets to Stefan i was able to grab him in time.

"Tony it's ok" I say

"What the hell is this?" Tank says

"Ask our Boss." Tony snarls

"Leave it alone. It doesn't matter. At least now I can shoot him if I need to" i say smiling at Tony

"Yeah never shot a gun before and she unloaded a full clip dead center" Tony says wrapping his arms around me

"That's amazing little one" Tank says

Stefan growls at Tony holding me and I grow pissed.

"Get the f**k over yourself. Go back to the b***h. But don't for one second think I will ever let you kiss me again" I snap at him

"What?" Tank roars

"Tank" Stefan warns

"Does she know?" Tank asks

"No" Stefan shouts

"Tell her or I will" Tank says angrily

"No" Stefan says

"That was his fiance." Tank snarls

"Oh my god." I mumble

"I will f*****g murder you. come on little bird. Let's go get you in a apartment" Natalie says

"No way" stefan says

"You don't get to tell me want to do. Go to hell" I yell at him

I walk of the room and to my room. Natalie and Tony help me pack and they take my to an apartment not to far away.

"I'm in calling distance. Take this card. Use it i you need to. Tony has stocked you with weapons just encase. They are in your name just encase you have to call the cops so it's legal." Natalie says

I look at her and I bust out crying. she hugs me and gets me in the bed and just rubs my back. I feel Tony join us and they both cuddle me to death.
