TRUE INTENTIONS

KATIE'S POV

It's my first day in class. I wake up earlier than my roommates. It was quiet awkward when I first step into the room last night. They looked so mean and serious but they are actually the opposite. They are all kind and I found out that they are also spiritual beasts: Akira, the snake; Fahara, the griffin; and Sara, the water dragon. I didn't find any difficulty getting along with them even though I'm new here.

After getting ready, "I got to go first. I need to see the Dean before class", I said to my roommates. " Do you need some company?", Fahara asked. "It's okay. I can manage, thanks. See you later. Bye!", I replied. I hurriedly went out the dormitory and head to the Office of the Dean. As I arrived at the front door, I knocked on it and heard a woman say, "Come in". As I enter the room, I see a woman with nice figure facing on the wide window in the office with the view of the magical forest. I assume she is the Dean. "Good morning Dean. I'm--" " I know you Katie", she cut me off. She turn around and I was shocked to see who the woman in front of me is. "Your Highness", I bow before her. I never knew Queen Margette is the Dean. "I know you are planning something", the Queen said, "and I'm willing to help you. You know, I love my daughter so much and I'm most willing to give everything she desires". I was hesitating to tell her my true intentions but since she's willing to help then maybe it's a good thing to have another ally. "Master asked me to study here for one thing. She wants to study here but his highness won't allow her", I said. "So what's the plan?", she asked. "Well, uhmm..", I hesitated but it's now or never. "She gave me a mission to steal the academy seal in order to grant her application in the academy", I smiled tremulously. I can see a slight surprise on her highness' face. "I know it's very risky but I can't say no to my master. Please don't blame me your highness. I beg you", I pleaded. "Well, you'd better stop that mission of yours. I will help you in a proper manner. I have a way to convince my king to allow her to study. Let me handle it", she said with assurance. I was relieved upon hearing her highness. "Thank you, your highness", I gratefully said. "No need to thank me. I owe her 10 years of her life. It's the least I could do. Here-", she handed me a box. "That's your school uniform. You must study hard and please take care of my daughter once she's here", she smiled. "I surely will, your highness", I bowed and accepted the box. "Off you go. Don't be late on your first class. Goodluck!", the Queen said. I bowed in return. I get out of the room with a smile plastered in my face.

It's been so long since I saw the Queen. It was when my master was only 6 years old, the first time I was brought in the palace as the princess' spiritual beast. Her beauty hadn't changed a bit based on her portrait in the palace wall 10 years ago.The Queen just suddenly left the palace for an unknown reason. My master was always crying that time and I was the only one who was there to comfort her. I wonder how would my master feel if she sees her mother as the Dean of the academy.

I changed into my uniform and it fits me well. The uniform design is the same with all other students. The difference is just the brooch on our left chest. Mine is amethyst. I walked into the corridor and saw some students looking at me. What is wrong with them? I shrugged. I continued to walk and just minded my own business until someone spilled a juice on me. Arghh my new uniform is now ruined. I looked at the villain in front of me. She looks mediocre with a long wavy red hair. She looks so ferocious. "What's wrong with you?", I hissed. "You are just a lowly spiritual beast. Who gives you the right to look at me?", she said. Everyone's attention are now at us. I starred closely at her. I noticed that she is wearing a diamond brooch. Ohh so she's one of the Elites. I look at her in the eye. "Do I offend you? I mean, I did not do anything wrong, did I?", I sarcastically asked. "Yes you did. How come you are wearing the same shoes as mine? They were only for royalties, as well as that bag of yours. No one else had it in the academy aside from me. Not even Eli and Ely. And your just an spiritual beast", she said angrily. Is it wrong that my master spoiled me with these expensive things? "So what if I can afford it?", I frankly said. She was speechless. I walked passed her and look for the comfort room. Gladly, I learned some magic to fix dirtied clothes. Now I'm late. So much for my first day. I sighed.

I arrive at my first class almost late. Gladly, the teachers had an emergency conference.

My first class is about history. I really love this kind of subject. Gladly, most of my classmates were kind. They witnessed my bravery a while ago in the corridor with the mean Elite and some of them wanted to be my friends while some were distant. Maybe they are afraid in offending an Elite. My roommates were also my classmates so it makes it easier for me to fit in. The day ended so fast. I feel relieved that my first day is not a total mess. I've got to tell my master what happened. I really hope she'd be here soon.
