"He stopped for a second, then said, "I need to lock up soon, so I figured I'd give you a heads-up that it's time to leave. You're the last one left, after all." "It's 9:26pm ma'am!" The shock hit Kira like a bucket of cold water. Kira quickly grabbed her phone, and the screen glowed bright in the dark room, 9:26 pm. Oh my God, mom I totally lost my train of thought, and now I'm feeling really mixed up. She didn't hang around, just scooped up her things and stuffed them into her bag, not bothering if they got jumbled up. She gave the guard a swift, sheepish grin and almost sprinted for the door, her high heels clattering noisily on the silent hallway as she made her way out. A few minutes later, Kira arrived home, and the door opened, and saw her mom lying on the couch, looking pretty weak. Kira stood at the door for a few seconds, letting out a beautiful smile at her mom. Before rushed to her, she kissed her on the forehead. "Hey mom, how did your appointment go today? What did the doctor tell you?" Her mother managed to let out a small beautiful smile. Hey Kira ... .what…..took…you long… I was so worried about you her voice faintly. I'm really sorry mom. I had lots of work to finish today. Kira responded with a loving smile, robbing her hand on her mother's face while sitting beside her on the floor. “They said… I’ll need to be admitted.” Kira froze for a second before letting out a relieving breath. "Her mother spoke up again, her voice gentle but faintly. 'It will take up to a month, ' she said.
