Chance to redeem

When Oliver and Cayden reached home they both got down from the car and heard voices coming from inside the house and both exchanged the glance and ran inside. When they reached inside the saw a mess everything was broken in the corner laid many broken vases and every decorative item in pieces, when Mrs. Beckett saw Cayden she ran toward him.

"What happened?" Cayden asked in a cold voice even Mrs. Beckett felt scared of her master at that time but soon she came back to her senses and answered him.

"Master, master Aiden did all of this we tried to stop him but he pushed all of us away and we were too scared to hurt him, we could not force him down and he broke and trashed everything here...." Cayden stopped Mrs, Beckett because he caught on the keyword that Aiden did this. He would have never guessed that little boy was capable of creating havoc in his house, he had underestimated him, even though he pretended indifferently but inside he was no better than Cayden. He realized the weight of Oliver's word now, if not taken care of properly he might lose Aiden.

"Where is he now?" he asked and everyone could feel the coldness rolling out of him and everyone felt scared of him. Cayden was more worried now as he saw so many glass pieces and he was worried that Aiden might have hurt himself in the process of trashing the place upside down, he could replace everything in this house but Aiden was not replaceable he was someone Ahana entrusted him with, he had promised her that he will always take care of Aiden and her, he already failed her once and with the things right now he thought he had failed her twice but Uptil now that guy behaved so well that it never occurred to him that he was capable of creating such a mess, he must be hurt by something and on the top of that he was unstable right now that he had to take out all that anger he had kept inside for so long, it might be the reason he had trash his house to this extent.

"His upstairs and room is locked from inside we tried to get him to open it up but we failed master...we are very sorry for being so incompetent," Said Ms. Beckett said in a tone laced with guilt, she knew Aiden missed Ms. Black even though they knew and tried to make him talk or open up to them but no matter what they tried that little kid won't let them approach him if anything he would get angry if they pushed him too far, they all varied of him and knew if something went wrong with Aiden, Master would not let them go. After all, they were all scared of master's fury, also when master became angry they had seen first hand how far he would go.

Cayden looked at Oliver behind him and then went upstairs as the master of the house he had the master key and opening the room was not the issue right now what waited behind that door was another story. Oliver also shared the same thought as Cayden regarding this issue things could be brought again but once you lose someone you can't get them back, unlike Cayden who had not seen Aiden cry like a little insecure kid Oliver had witnessed his breakdown before going in the search of Cayden so he was more worried than him at the movement. If he knew things would turn out to be like this he would never have left Aiden's side in the search of Cayden instead he would have stayed and accompanied him but he was more or less to blame as well, he knew he was unstable but instead of sending someone to bring Cayden, he had gone out himself without carrying about the little guy "s**t" Oliver thought.

Cayden took out the key and opened the door without delaying for a second because god knew what Aiden would be doing right now, thinking that he might have hurt himself Cayden felt coldness seep into his bones and he suddenly felt a chill ran down his spine, in a fear of what waited for him behind the door just by a mere thought. Once they opened the door they both met with an entirely different scene they that imagined, Aiden was sitting on the bed holding Ahana's hand in his and when he heard the door opening he frowned as he had clearly locked the door but who came in was someone he did not expect to see or rather never wanted to see Cayden. He loathed him the most because it was because of him that his mommy was not talking to him, if not for him she would never have left him alone, she might be enjoying her time with him, telling him stories helping him with his studies, he missed his mother now, he even did not mind if she shouted at him or got mad with him, as long as she was with him, he would not ask for more, he had behaved badly before made her angry sometimes, but now he would do anything to please her, for her to just wake up once and tell him that she loved him the most instead of him always feeling that she did not love him anymore, Cayden was too blame he took his mommy away from him.

All the agony he had endured suddenly erupted today, he wanted to hurt Cayden as he was not capable of doing so he had trashed his place and he created a mess downstairs, in a hope to anger him, he wanted to destroy everything in this house, he felt so much fury that he could not hold himself back anymore and went berserk but in the end, his mommy did not wake up, to scold him, even when he shouted and made a mess around the house and all of this was done by the man infront of him. Aiden clenched his hands and looked at Cayden with so much hatred that Cayden suddenly felt he was at a loss of words and his face showed a mix of emotions flash across his handsome face. Cayden went toward the bed, and from the corner of his eye he checked if any injury was visible on Aiden, he felt much better when he did not find any blood mark on his clothes or on the bedsheet and only than he sat down. Oliver also came in and closed the door behind him so that they can keep him in.

Cayden felt his heart sink when he saw Aiden clutching on Ahana's hand like it was the only thing that kept him grounded and going day after day, Cayden thought he was no better than Aiden either only the hope of Ahana waking up one day made him go through his days, which felt torturously long suddenly and would not come to an end until he feels exhausted and his heart feeling like it was drowning in ice-cold water, Cayden could tell Aiden was anxious and angry right now and Cayden did not have the slightest idea about how to ease his pain, so Cayden thought to be honest with him and try to start with a proper apology which Cayden should have done the very first day but still it was better than never being able to tell him how sorry, how he wanted to return back in time and make things right, how he regretted not seeing that beautiful girl of his smiling at him with so much love and care, he was very sorry and felt remorse for what had happened.

"Aiden I am sorry..... how sorry I felt can't be described by just a few words...I know I should have apologized to you that day but I did not have the courage to face you, so I hid and pretended to never see your pain or see you hurt and crying alone every night for your mother...." Said Cayden and looked at Aiden who was looking at him with mixed emotions right now because he thought Cayden would shout at him will throw him out of the house for breaking everything in his house but instead, he was asking him to forgive him.

Cayden gave Aiden sometimes so that his words would sink in, he did not stop but continued after some time" I know It is all my fault that your mother is suffering right now, if it was not for me, she never would have been in this situation but know this that I love your mother dearly and I would not let anything happen to her ever again, I know I failed you both...Even though I said this before that I will protect your mother but still failed to do so but this time I swear on my life that I will kill myself before any harm came in your mother and your way...Can you give me another chance? will you let me prove it to you that I will not harm you or take your mother away from you? will you give me a chance to redeem myself?"Cayden said and looked in Aiden's eyes with sincerity he used a really soft tone when he talks to Aiden like he was scared to trigger Aiden. He did not expect anything from Aiden just a chance to prove himself.

Even Oliver felt shocked by the things Cayden said he had never thought that Cayden could be capable of being so considerate toward anyone and he would love someone to this extent, who was he kidding he had seen the look in Cayden's eyes before which looked like he wanted to die alongside Ahana, even though Cayden looked cold and hard to approach but still when you got to know him you would know that he was a very good person beneath his tough exterior he was a nice guy who would help you out without ever letting you know, he would act arrogantly to hide this side of his. he had been on the receiving end many times so he knew no matter how cold he acted he would always look out for those whom he considered his.

Aiden kept looking at Cayden and did not say anything he was really angry and lonely, he felt scared every day that, one day he might be separated from his mother and won't ever be able to see her ever again, he was after all a 6 years old kid now, he was not an adult, he only knew the things his mother taught him and his nana said to him other than those two people, he had never been close to anyone or trusted anyone but when mommy told him that they will be living with uncle Cayden he felt happy because like Aaron he would have someone who would give him a piggyback would take him out in his car would play with him as well, even though he had his mother but still he missed his father because whenever he saw his school friends with there father he would long to have someone in his life as well. He was happy but when he saw his mother like this everything he had wished before died down because he did not care about anything anymore he would never complain about not having a father, he prayed to God to give him his mommy back but no matter how much he prayed she won't wake up, he even became a good boy and started studying and going to school daily but nothing changed she keep on sleeping and when he cried she would not give him a hug and kiss him and tell him to stop crying won't tickle him and make him laugh amidst of crying.

He missed her to the very bone of his and he felt alone in this house even though his mother was sleeping right next to him. He wanted to believe Cayden but he was scared that if he did he might leave him alone just like his mother, he might once again hurt him, so he did not say anything but his eyes turned red and the movement Cayden noticed the change in him he knew what went through his head, he could guess what Aiden was thinking and seeing that helpless look in his eyes broke his heart and it started bleeding once again because Aiden looked so much like Ahana that it felt like he had hurt her not him and he suddenly felt that everything was closing on him he could not look in those accusing eyes anymore and wanted to get away like he always did whenever forced to face Aiden after that incident..but this time he could not run away from his responsibilities, he had seen what Aiden did down there in his anger what if they are not so lucky next time, what if.....there were so many what if's that Cayden could not ignore anymore.

Cayden closed his eyes and tried to calm his running emotions because he needed to focus on Aiden and he was in desperate need of help otherwise he will really lose that little fellow even before his mother woke up. She had left him in his care and he needed to take care of him even if he felt uncomfortable knowing that it was his fault that these things were happening in the first place, he needed to face this issue and he needed to pay for that what he had done by dragging these innocent creatures in it and first he needed to pull this little guy out of the darkness which surrounded him right now.

"Aiden I will never leave your side I promise nor your mother ever gonna leave you, she loves you the most in this world, do you know she once told me that you are her soul and heart, you tell me how can a person live without her heart and soul... it's just that she is hurt and needs some time to get well and once she is well she will wake up, you just need to stay by her side to make sure when she wakes up you can help her out, you are here for her to welcome her....ok" Cayden said in a very pleasing voice and for some reason it made Aiden cry and he started trembling like a little leave which would be plucked by the harsh wind any second.

When Cayden saw the little guy crackdown he could not hold back and went to him and held him in his embrace because he too felt helpless, every day he could wake up in just this hope that she might wake up any time and would search for him, only this hope was keeping him alive if not for this he too might have died long ago with her. "I am here....shh don't cry baby boy I will not let anything happen to you or mommy....please stop crying" Cayden tried to stop him because he was now sobbing in his arms and trembling very badly he could feel his sorrow and pain through those heartbreaking sob.

Cayden let Aiden cry in his embrace, he saw how much that kid held back and tried to surpass his emotion to this extent where being loved by anyone made him feel uncomfortable, and that was the reason he had pushed everyone away from him, in fear that they might come and one day might leave him alone, it was his fear that became so heavy that he could not accept anything from anyone, Cayden was able to get through because he was someone his mother told him to trust, if not because of her influence Cayden would be having a hard time to get through him or maybe it was because of the time they spent together as a family before that hell broke down on them.

Aiden held onto Cayden's shirt with his little hands, he was so scared and lonely all this time, he had yearned for his mother's love and those warm hugs she gave him whenever he got hurt, now no one looked at him twice even if fell down, no one sings a song for him to sleep at night, he was longing for the love for so long but no one came for his help but today Cayden changed something in him as well. He clung to the warmth of Cayden and did not want to let it go, scared that he will be lonely and cold once again if he did, he was desperate for the love of his parents.

maybe this desperation for love forced him to go so far toward the edge where he was ready to lose all the hope and love in his life so that he would not get hurt ever in the future. he was ready to close off his little heart, how much had he hurt him to make him go so far, Cayden let that little boy fall down in his arms, he did what he should have done from the start show him his support and let him know whatever happened in the future he will not let him go or let any harm come in his way. He swore that day that he will never ever make him feel abandoned again and he will protect him with his life, he had promised Ahana to make him his son and today was the day he was going to fulfill every promise.

It was not the end of Cayden's problem he had one more problem to sort out and it was Ahana's mother Kristine, who had called non-stop since that day to know where Ahana was until now he was able to manage somehow by lying and using someone who had a voice similar to Ahana and making sure Aiden cooperated but now she was getting suspicious as well that something was wrong with Ahana after all no one can replicate your daughter in front of a mother who had raised her daughter and knew all well if she was her daughter or an imposter. It was time Cayden faced her mother as well, he respects her not because she was Ahana's mother but for the things she had done in her life, he had read all about her as well, she was from middle-class family background and it was her upbringing which made Ahana who she was today and he could not bring himself to lie anymore, she deserved to know what had happened to her loving daughter even if it meant she would curse Cayden. once Aiden stopped crying Cayden coaxed him to eat something and then he put him to bed next to Ahana, as Aiden felt so many emotions and cried for so long he was tired and fell asleep right after his head touched the pillow.

Cayden walked out of the room and saw Oliver still lurking around." Is Aiden asleep?" Oliver asked, he came out when he knew his job was done and he did not want to disturb both of them.

"Yes, you stay here as well, as it is already too late for you to drive back," Cayden said after all Oliver was here because of him and he should not just shoo him out right after the storm is calmed down.

"hmm I don't want to go back either, so what have you thought," Oliver asked as he knew Cayden had decided something when he pulled Aiden in his arms, Oliver just wanted to be sure that Cayden won't hurt him again, he felt a kinship toward that child and as Cayden was also suffering from the heartbreak he was not so sure that he will not ignore him in future.

Cayden went toward his study and Oliver followed behind."What do you think I will do?" Cayden asked and sat down in his chair behind his work desk. He gave off a cold vibe and Oliver knew he had offended him somehow.

"Bro I am not saying anything, just making sure you know what you are doing," Oliver said even though Cayden was giving chilly vibes he knew that he won't hurt him.

"You are worried about Aiden and that I might hurt him again and it might push him over the edge this time," Cayden said after some time and then added "You see your past self in him" it was not a question but instead a statement which both of them knew was true.

"I care about him," Oliver said he did not want to dwell on his past any more than necessary, somethings always hurt you whenever you remembered them those sour memories never turning sweet or going away just lurking in the back of your mind.

"I will not hurt him, Oliver," Cayden said solemnly and Oliver knew he won't because he had never hurt him either it was not that he did not trust him it was more like he knew he was also suffering and he might ignore about Aiden when things get tough.

"It's late, go rest," Cayden said and Oliver got up to go to his room to sleep but then he stopped and turned around.

"Bro I want you to know something I never doubted you for a second and I am happy to see you being there for Aiden, just like you have been there for me all this time," Oliver said and left without waiting for Cayden's response.
