The night was longer than it had been in years, Cayden saw Ahana next to him folded in herself, she had been crying silently until she fell asleep, Cayden got up and put his windbreaker on her and made her comfortable on the couch, and went toward the bed and sat down on the chair next to the bed.
Cayden did not show anything when Ahana was awake because he did not want to distress her more, but once she was asleep he could not help but go to his brother, whom he loved as much as he loved Ahana, he still remembers the little boy sitting on the roadside looking lost so skinny and so small that Cayden could not help but approach him, he had been like this when he ran out of Michael's den, no one approached him, no hand came for help, how he had wished someone would come and help
