We arrive at John F. Kennedy International Airport at 11:33 pm, that's an hour ahead of Chicago, it's weird being an hour ahead of the only place I've called home. The airport is a 48 minute drive from Manhattan, we live in an apartment building but since I'm 17, did i mention that? I get to have my own apartment, that my parent's pay for, It's the apartment next to theirs, 470 Manhattan, such a short name.
We call over a Taxi to take us to our apartments, all our stuff should be there because it only takes an hour and a half to ship over and to be delivered to the apartments, and our plane ride took 1 hour and 51 minutes, almost 2 hours.
While we drove though the street's of New York, i see everyone partying, hanging out with friends or just having fun, It's true, New York is the city that never sleep's. Everyone but me fell asleep in the Taxi, complaining about Jetlag. When we reach the apartment building almost no lights are on in the windows so either they are sleeping or out having fun. My dad pays the Taxi driver and then we walk into the lobby to grab our apartment key's, they tell us all our stuff have been moved into our apartments and that they hope we enjoy living in Manhattan.
We go up the the elevator until level 5, that's the highest level there is in the apartment building and we go our separate way's into our apartment's. My family are probably going to unpack tomorrow but I'm not tired so I'll unpack tonight, i dont start school until next Monday, It's only Wednesday, i still have little less than a week to unpack and settle in Manhattan. I start off in the kitchen then the Living room and everything else, saving the bedroom for last.
After i finish unpacking i start to get tired, but I'm not tired enough to sleep even though It's 3 in the morning, therefore i grab one of my favorite books, Divergent, part of the Divergent series and sit down on my balcony, listening to the night life of Manhattan and reading my book, lulling myself to sleep.
