A sharp female voice yanked me back into reality. It was Clara.
She glared at me nastily. “The famous envoy’s fiancée really has no shame—flinging herself into another man’s embrace.”
“Famous” envoy’s fiancée” instantly dragged me back to that day on Moon Goddess Mountain.
How could I not know that?
The pink haze in my mind shattered.
I pushed Cole away, my tone distant. “Thank you, General Cole.”
“Drop the act!” Clara sneered and suddenly shoved me.
