The Ancient Packs Bride

Episode 2

They all laughed at me as my mother spat "how could you a wolf less werewolf help run a pack like this one, at least like this you are being useful" I gulped as I looked over to my father "daddy why am I marrying someone I don't know? I'm only 17, I've not had the chance to meet my mate yet" my father shouted "DON'T CALL ME THAT, YOU LOST THAT RIGHT WHEN YOU DIDN'T SHIFT" I couldn't hold my tears back any more, they streamed down my cheeks as I stuttered out "pppplease don't ddo this tto mmme" he growled at me "You Will Do As Your Told" looking at the floor I let my tears fall when I heard "the father and current Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack will be here in two days to collect you" nodding I waited for them to dismiss me, when my mother spat "leave us".

Standing up I held my head high as I left their office, turning the corner I ran into the kitchen ready to go to my room. In the kitchen there's a pantry supposed to hold extra food except it's not used for that anymore, it's used as my bedroom I lost all the luxuries of being the Alpha's daughter when I couldn’t shift. Gloria saw my crying but left me be as I didn't want to talk to anyone right now and as someone who has taught me many things and listened she knows when I will talk to her, going into my room I laid down in my home-made bed sobbing my heart out. It felt like hours had passed but I wouldn't know as I had cried myself to sleep, feeling someone grab my shoulder I flinched swinging my head round to the figure smiling kindly at me.

Relaxing a little bit, I started to fidget with my fingertips when Gloria asked "what happened to cause you so much pain?" I whispered "I'm being sent away to be married" Gloria backed away from me "who are you promised too Eliza?" Frowning at her I tilted my head in confusion but answered "the son of the Alpha to the Blood Moon Pack" she gasped but then started to sob "my dear you poor thing" I didn't understand this statement at all. I know nothing about the current packs, I wasn’t allowed to learn the names titles and typical knowledge about the werewolf world. I wasn’t classed as a wolf because I didn't have one so I asked "why? what's wrong?" Gloria's eyes shot wide open "your betrothed is a monster" my hand covered my mouth stopping any words or sounds to escape.

Sitting on the floor I didn't know what to say or do now, looking into Gloria's eyes I know she wouldn't lie to me "surely he can't be that bad" she frowned "no one will go near him, the females will look from afar but nothing more. He murders anyone who crosses their territory without permission even if it's an accident" a cold shiver travelled up my back until I was in a cold sweat. Jumping to my feet I walked towards my door, opening it I walked over to the sink looking into the clear water in the bowl I could see a reflection of the bright moon and I instantly relaxed as I started to clean the cutlery and dishes. Gloria followed me but didn't say anything more, cleaning relaxes me and before I knew it the kitchen was spotless, stating good night I walked into my bedroom.

Laying on my bed I closed my eyes letting sleep take me to an escape, the escape that was shown wasn't one that I wanted. Lost in my dream, I dreamt of my new life with my betrothed which wasn't perfect actually it seemed worse than my life now. I was the maid, my betrothed slept around with all the females in the pack and the worst thing is that he smirked at me when I walked in on him burying himself inside another woman. My body shot up as I caught my breath, catching my breath I rubbed my face and it was only then that I realised I was crying again. I've cried more in the last day than I have in the last three years, I've been abused by my family and pack the only one who has looked out for me is Gloria. She will be the only person I will miss when I leave here.

Getting up I started to make the breakfast for all the werewolves that live in the pack house, preparing the food I made my way round the kitchen reaching for the radio that was playing in the background. Soon Gloria joined me in the kitchen to help with the cooking, "what are you doing up so early?" I concentrated on the food when muttering "couldn't sleep, I will be leaving tomorrow" Gloria's hands stopped moving as she suggested "run" my head shot up "what?" She grabbed my hands as she repeated "run away, then you won't have to marry a monster" shaking my head "I can't, you will be in trouble" she smiled "as long as your safe" I shook my head again "no, no I'm not running" she frowned at me "why?" I straightened my back "it would cause war".

Gloria released my hands stepping back "forget I said something" I smiled as we both continued to make the food when 9 o'clock came and we both started to give plates out in the hall to all the wolf's present. Making my way back to the kitchen I started on the dishes only to be yelled "ELIZA GET IN HERE" rolling my eyes I made my way back into the hall with my head held low "yes Alpha, how can I help you?" I wasn’t allowed to call them mother or father in front of others it embarrassed them. A grumble reached my ears "take our plates away we are finished" I kept my head low "yes Alpha" taking the plates I walked back into the kitchen, continuing with the dishes I started to hum a song not paying attention to my surroundings.

Flinching at the sound of smashing China, I didn't know what had happened until a drop of blood trickled down my cheek. Touching the blood, seeing it on my fingers i felt my face pale before my mother stormed into the kitchen "YOU STUPID BRAT, CAN'T YOU DO ANYTHING RIGHT" a sharp pain struck my cheek. Crashing to my knees on the floor I help myself protectively when another voice boomed through the room "WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON THE FLOOR? CLEAN UP YOUR MESS" another plate came flying towards my body. Dodging the plate, I rose to my feet cleaning up the mess the broken China had made, everyone had left me alone so I could finish my chores for the morning. My list of things to do was long; hoover, mop, dust, set up the guest bedroom and start preparing lunch and dinner.

I was exhausted by the time I had just cleaned the house but I still had quite a few bits to do before Gloria was back with the shopping for lunch and dinner. Turning on the ovens ready for the food, hearing the door open I smiled "oh Gloria your back, great what are we cooking for lunch and dinner?" Turning round to see Gloria limping and being followed by a tall unknown man. Rushing over to Gloria I panicked "oh no what's happened?" She waved her hand to me "oh dear don't you worry about me, i had some help from this nice young man" looking over to the young man i bowed my head only to receive a growl. Ignoring it I help Gloria to a stool, getting some frozen veg out I placed it on her ankle "thank you for helping her" looking over my shoulder only to receive a blinding smile.
