Anna POV
Ethan: I'm on my way. I'll be there in 20.
The text was so short but made my heart beat out of my chest. How is it that this man can perform such a thing so easily? I can't acquire such feelings. It's phoney. I can't let this happen.
Shaking those sensations off, I make sure that everything looks decent before leaving. Twenty minutes went by too quickly, and before I knew it, he pulled up to my house. I soon hurried outside and noticed him leaning against the passenger door with a smile.
"You look beautiful," Ethan said, opening the door to his car.
"Thank you, you look very handsome," I replied with a smile, noticing his blush a bit.
I can honestly say I am more nervous than ever before. Every time I believe I'm the most nervous I can be, my mind makes sure to let me know that I'm mistaken. Something about him is intimidating, and although I shouldn't even care, I do.
"So where to, my lady?" He inquired with a dreadful false accent.
"Hmm, you may pick. I'm just delighted to be here."
"Well, we have this wonderful steakhouse in town. I don't know how you feel about steak, though." He laughed.
"Sounds good to me!"
"Great. It isn't too far from here. I think you'll like it." He remarked, glancing over at me with a beautiful smile.
Ethan was truly incredibly beautiful. He had a tiny scruff on his jawline and excellent teeth. His vivid green eyes were blinding. He was wearing dark-framed spectacles, and they looked wonderful on him. His hair was groomed in the front, and he looked more suited up than I was used to seeing him. I had never seen him with glasses or seen him in a formal shirt and jeans. He looked...well, hot. He kind of reminded me of Clark Kent. I could look at him all day.
"You can turn the radio on if you want to." He murmured, breaking the silence.
"I'm sorry, I was just sitting here thinking." I laughed, shaking my head.
"About what?" He asked with a smile.
"I was just thinking, you kind of look like Clark Kent."
"Are you implying that I look like a nerd?" he laughed.
"No! I'm only saying the spectacles remind me of him. Clark was an extremely gorgeous person, so take it as a compliment," I replied, making sure to leave out all of the portions about his hair and eyes.
"Well, thank you. Don't count on me to save you from a building once you start falling, though."
"I'll make sure to stay away from any tall buildings and windows." I laughed.
"So tell me more about you." He said with a smile.
"What do you want to know?" I asked.
"Anything. Everything." Well, I'm twenty years old. I have a little sister named Phoebe. She is like... my entire life. I adore her more than anything. I live with my father, and I am in school working for a business degree. I don't know, that's about it. What about you? I want to know more about Ethan Fain." I laughed.
"Eth," he said.
"What?" “Eth. Call me Eth." He smiled.
Eth. The name fit him better than Ethan did. Ethan seemed too ordinary and dull for him.
“Eth," I said, letting the name glide off of my lips.
"Anyways, it sounds like we have something in common. I was a finance and business major. I took a ton of college courses in high school and was able to finish earlier than most people my age. I'm twenty-four, as you know. We began FraileyFrailey when I was approximately twenty-one, and it has been our main firm for a long time now. It's easy working with Frailey, considering he is my best buddy. We agree on pretty much everything when it comes to our company. We are branching out and are working on building a company in Seattle, Miami, and Chicago. Seattle is prioritized since it is nearby. Uhh...I feel like I'm saying too much about myself," He replied, blushing as he spotted me staring at him.
"No, tell me more. It's intriguing. I want to know everything."
"Well, we originally were just intending to keep our building here. But following the success, we decided to expand out. Seattle looks ideal at the moment, considering it is only a three-hour travel time or such. I can stay here, run this building, and Frailey can rule Seattle. Of course, I'll have to do some traveling, but three hours is nothing. I'll still have time to travel home and see you and my family." He replied, before noticing what he said, "Uhh, I mean, I can see everyone. It's just going to be easier overall. Anyways, yeah."
I flushed at what he said, not exactly knowing what to say. Of course, I want him to continue to see me. I need him to want to. If I want to continue this arrangement, that is.
"Well, ideally you'll want to continue to see me. So when you aren't working, what do you prefer to do?" I ask.
"Well, whenever I have time, I like to work out. It's kind of been a major deal for me since I was little. I was a bigger guy in high school and decided I was bored of it so I started working out and have liked it ever since. Now I'm not chubby anymore." He laughed.
"I can't imagine you being chubby," I admitted. Ethan was taller than me and had a great body. His arms were defined, and you could see how tight his shirts would go around his biceps in specific locations. I don't know how he would ever feel insecure.
"Good. I don't want you to. It was horrible." He laughed.
The car was silent for a few moments until he addressed the subject I was attempting to avoid.
"So, how do you know my dad? I've never seen you before that picnic." He asked anxiously.
"Oh.. oh yes. Dane and I met a while back at an uhh...an event. I was the waitress for his table at a country club," I said, not believing my own words.
