??? POV
"Alright son keep your feet firm. Ready?" I give a small nod, eyes locked on the target. "Okay, take your shot."
Taking in a deep breath I pull back and aim. Slowly releasing my breath I let the arrow pierce through the air.
Dead center.
"Nice shot son! Load it back up. Let's get a few more of those."
My father and I had always been close but we had grown even closer when I was old enough to begin my training. He was the top warrior for our small village. That was until the war.
I am an only child. My father had lost his beautiful life in the war when I was six. My mother never recovered from her broken heart but has always made sure to raise me how dad wanted. I am now twenty years old and in the top warrior position for my grandfather's lands. Being top warrior has been my goal since my father passed. I was not handed the position just because it's my grandfather's territory. I trained hard night and day to earn this position and I'd do it all again to make sure I know my father is proud.
Being top warrior, I am constantly up and moving. There is rarely a time I get to relax, this moment is not one of them. Answering my phone I quickly learn that it is my grandfather that has called.
"Hello, grandfather."
"This is business son, right now I am Alpha to you."
"Yes, Alpha."
"Now I need you on the training fields today. I need you to spy on the woman that came into the territory yesterday."
"Yes Alpha, anything else?"
"Yes, she has already made it to stealth and speed. Please figure out why the commander is acting astounded?"
"Will do Alpha." I nod my head slightly showing my respect although he cannot see.
As I make my way through the forest I slowly let my wolf take over. With my heightened senses, I catch this amazing scent. The aroma of Japanese cherry blossoms and dark chocolate take over everything around me. As I follow it I come to realize the owner was in the training fields.
Ignoring the scent I continue through the forest watching as the freshly bloomed trees fly passed. It only takes moments before I reach the fields to see this mysterious woman complete her evaluation.
Reaching the fields I call my grandfather once more.
"Alpha."
"Hello son, what can I do for you?"
"I would like to have her information sent to headquarters."
"Already sent."
"Thank you, Alpha."
Putting my phone back in my pocket I enter headquarters. Going to my office I quickly look over her background check. With little to no background to really look over I head back to the training fields.
As I reach the stealth and speed building I hear the commander tell Evelyn to begin.
"Commander," I say as I walk to his side.
"This woman's records are ridiculous! Look at this!"
Looking over what she has done I find myself being just as overwhelmed as the commander, I automatically express my disbelief.
"These cannot be true! These stats are impossible!"
"They're true sir. I, as well as other warriors have been watching her closely."
"Commander, I don't doubt you one bit. It's just that these stats seem impossible unless she's not human, or wolf for that matter."
"Sir, I am not sure what she is, she has no scent."
There was a yell from the direction of the building causing my head to snap in that direction practically giving me whip lash.
"I finished like ten minutes ago and have been trying to get your attention." She stated, rolling her eyes. "Commander, you can find out the time I finished by asking your stunned warriors. Is there any other stations to go through or am I free to sit in your office while you examine everything?"
"You're free to go to my office. Ask the woman at the front to esc-....."
"No!" clearing my throat I start again. "That won't be necessary commander. I was heading to my office anyways, I will bring her to yours on the way." I smile as if nothing happened.
"Uh... very well sir. Uh, Evelyn please follow this man to my office.
"May I ask your name before I follow you or are you going to be a d**k about it like that other guy?"
I giggle under my breath before answering.
"Jaxith."
