Tracing the bullet hole in the window made Sophie's fingers shake. The glass's sharp edges served as a clear reminder that danger was always present. She took a deep breath, attempting to regain her balance.
"This isn't finished," she muttered.
Adrian stood next to her, his face unreadable, but his tense jaw said more than words could. Gently, he turned her away from the broken window with his reaching hand. "We conclude it according to our terms."
Sophie looked into his eyes for confirmation. "How? We have no idea who is responsible for this.
