‘So tell us about your fancy lady then?’ Edith stretched out on the lounging chair, arms lifted and then folded behind her head, exposing the front of her dress to the man. George shifted as he perched on the edge of the desk, ‘what makes you think I’ve a fancy lady, Edith?’ He studied the dark-haired beauty. He’d know Edith for years, for as long as he’d worked for the Lord Provost. It was a simple room that he kept in the Docklands.
