Almost Rejected

El’s POV

“My lady, concentrate.  I can feel anxiety and nervousness from you. There’s nothing to be worried about.” Nicola said.

“it’s not that. It’s my wolf. She’s been talking all gibberish for the past half an hour. I cant make a word of it and it’s giving me headache.”

She laughed, and said, “Ok, when we can make some sense out of your wolf’s words, we’ll know it. But right now please concentrate. We need to get you stronger as soon as possible, in the turn of events. The rogues attacked not far from here and we might be next. We need you to learn at least self defense techniques. And also need to test your wolf’s prowess.”

With that, I took my stance, concentrating on the dummy figure opposite to me. I need to practice kicking hard, Nicola said. So that, a kick in the right place, would make a man go singing for his life. Yeah, she said that. As I tried to block out everything else to concentrate on the opponent dummy, I smelt him. The smell of freshly mowed grass and mint toothpaste. Elina was jumping hard in my mind, it all made sense now. “mate, mate, mate.”

I looked around for the smell and that’s when I saw him coming from the forest sprinting towards us. Standing at 6’2”, with dark green eyes and golden specks, hair combed to the side with gel, there he was, looking dead gorgeous and sexy. He wore a black t-shirt and a black jeans, with black and white converse shoes, which accentuated his beige skin color even more. I forgot that I was staring at him already as he was staring at me. A frown appeared on his face and then surprise. He looked like he was debating within himself with his wolf. His expressions were changing from anger, disgust, surprise and it was all happening too soon. It though looked like he was about to reject me. There were questions written on his face. “He will not reject us. He cannot smell us. We’re like human to him for now” Elina told me.

I was about to go to him, when Lance, one of the patrol team member came to him saying something.  He quickly nodded in Lance’s direction and started towards the castle. Before he went away, he quickly looked at me once. I stood rooted in my spot. Right at that moment, I felt a gut wrenching pain and I could hear my bones snapping one by one. What was happening to me?

I immediately heard Nicola to my right that instant and Cole was there too. They both hurried me towards the forest so that no one can see me. I didn’t understand why they ushered me towards the forest, but I was glad.  Nicola was saying to me, “Kindly hold on my lady. Don’t try to get your wolf out right now. We need you to get you into a clearing, away from these people.” Though, I didn’t understand that, Elina understood, the snapping of my bones paused for a moment so that we could get inside the point.  As soon as we stopped in the middle of the forest, I could feel my bones snapping even more harder and it was painful. I could see claws growing out of me and fur sticking out at some places. Then, I blacked out.

Nicola’s POV

We had started training the princess from today on, and she was on edge, I can feel her nervousness and anxiety. Maybe she was nervous because she didn’t get a chance to train along with other pack members, or maybe she was worried about the rogue attacks getting nearer. Whatever it was, she couldn’t concentrate.

Today, I tried to start our princess’ training with a dummy figurine, so that she would start learning with punching and kicking. Getting to know the vital points in the body, would give us an advantage. If the rogues were spotted in their human form, kicking or punching them in these vital points would make them vulnerable and they wouldn’t shift into their wolf form immediately. This would give us time to take them out.

I tried to calm my lady and assure that she need not be worried. My lady immediately said that it was her wolf who was making her nervous and on edge. I chuckled mentally at her words. It would only mean one thing, her mate was near. So, trying to ease the situation, I laughed out loud and said “Ok, when we can make some sense out of your wolf’s words, we’ll know it. But right now please concentrate. We need to get you stronger as soon as possible, in the turn of events. The rogues attacked not far from here and we might be next. She suddenly stiffened besides me and was looking around or trying to find something or someone. I could smell the Royal Blue Swan Lake members entering our castle grounds. But my eyes scanned the area on instinct and I soon found Alpha George staring at my lady and in turn, she was staring at her. Then I saw Alpha George going towards castle with Lance leading him. I felt a gut wrenching pain and I immediately knew, that it was from the princess. She was shifting. s**t. It’s happening too soon. Her wolf took over and I could see it in her eyes. I quickly mind linked Cole to come where we are right now.

Judging from the last time, when I shook my lady’s hand, there was blinding flash and some kind of power rolling out. Now, we are in open training grounds and there were pack members around. I dont know what would happen, when my lady’s wolf came out. I told my lady immediately “Kindly hold on my lady. Don’t try to get your wolf out right now. We need you to get you into a clearing, away from these people.” I guess she understood that. Her shifting process stopped for now.

Cole was here now and in turn we soon took her into the forest. We took her to a clearing in the middle of forest between the Royal Blue Swan Lake and the castle. It was safe here for her to shift. So I mind linked Cole to stop. Soon, my lady started to shift and I could see her beautiful pure white fur and claws. My vision was getting blurry. Cole noticed it and was instantly besides me.

“It’s not me Cole, the princess’ wolf is taking over so that my lady can rest during this painful shift. I’m alright.” After few seconds, I was alright and then I turned towards my lady now who was now in her wolf form. It was a beautiful pure white wolf with the same Blue eyes as my lady’s. But there were specks of silver and a sliver lining in her eyes. She was exhausted, she was lying there with her head on her paws, panting.

“My lady, are you okay?” I asked her.

“I’m okay Nicola, I’m just tired.” I gasped. I could hear my lady as clear as possible in my head. She mind linked me okay, but the power in her tone was nothing like I had experienced before. Even in her weakened state, the authority in her tone was exceeding that of alpha Henry’s. also, there was a powerful aura surrounding her that exerted power at the same time, a calmness. I looked at her wolf in awe. Besides me, Cole was also looking at her the same way.

My lady was suddenly up on all her four paws and damn, she was huge. Huge than any alpha wolf. I felt suffocated suddenly. There was so much anger and power radiating from her. She was alert and was growling loudly, showing her canines. Suddenly, I was pulled out of my state, when we heard a twig snap. Someone was coming this way. I sniffed the air to find out who it was. It was an unknown smell. Cole and I, we too shifted and mind linked alpha Henry of potential danger.

Then I heard a women’s voice. “Calm down Elina, Nicola and Cole. I mean you guys no harm.” An old lady came into our sight and I could immediately tell that she was a witch. I instinctively became protective of my lady. Then I smelled  alpha Henry, alpha George and others running towards us, still in their human form.

“Hello Alpha Henry. Finally I get to see Nathaniel’s grandson.”

“Cynthia?” alpha Henry asked her.

“Yes Henry, I’m Cynthia, the witch, your grandfather was in love with, before he found his fated mate.” She chuckled while answering alpha. Alpha Henry turned to us and said “El, Cole, Nicola, it’s alright. She means us no harm. You can shift back now.” Some warriors came forward and gave us few clothing. Me and Cole took them immediately in our mouths and went behind the trees and shifted back. Once I put on the shirt and pants given to me, I went back to the clearing to see my lady still in her wolf form. She was exhausted and sat on all her fours with her head on her front paws.

“It’s alright El, your first shift took toll on you. Try to gather energy and shift back. Just imagine your human form. We’re all here” alpha Henry was saying. Besides him, I could see alpha George with a stunned expression on his face. What was with him? He looked like he was about to pounce on alpha Henry and others.
