Meeting her

With that, they bowed to me and left. I turned back to look at the two rogues still in their wolf form, pinned by my warriors. “Shift”, I commanded them using my alpha tone. They obliged quickly and I saw they were young. Two young boys around 19 to 20 years old. “Who are you guys and what do you want?” I asked them. One of them smirked, while the other didn’t respond.

My temper was rising and I could feel Alex trying to take over. I willed myself from giving over to Alex. Keeping my temper, I asked them again, “I’m not going to ask this again and don’t try to irk my anger. Who are you guys and what do you want?” I gritted my teeth and waited for two seconds, before I lashed out on the first one who smirked at me earlier. My claws dug deep into his chest, until I felt his heart. He was screaming in pain, I was inches away, when suddenly, the other boy shouted, “stop it, I’ll tell you what you want to know”. I released him from my hold and went to the other one.

I stood there, while he started explaining. “My name is Riley and he is Otis, we’re originally from dark moon pack. But when Alpha Marcus destroyed our pack, we became rogues. We were soon pulled into his pack by force. His rogue warriors are very strong. We couldn’t fight with them. We, like many others who faced the same fate, we were all made members of his pack and were trained specially. We are supposed to find a she-wolf, whom the alpha wants to make her his chosen Luna.”

I knew these details, but I wanted to know more, a first hand information. But on observing the young rogue closely, he had black eyes from before, was malnutrition-ed. He was treated very bad. I wanted to know more and I wanted information fast. So I made up my mind and spoke to him now in a calm demeanor. “Look Riley, I can see that you were mistreated by the so called alpha. I can see you don’t like what you’re doing now but if you’re willing to have a second chance at life, it’s now time. Or you’ll be facing the same fate as the others lying over there.”

He quickly nodded his head saying yes and spoke up. “Will… will you give Otis a chance too? I… I.. I don’t want him to be hurt anymore.” I looked up in a questioning gaze to which Riley answered, “he’s my elder brother. He’s always there looking out for me. When the rogue warriors snatched us, my brother said just to follow them, so that they won’t beat us. But when sometimes I didn’t keep up with the training and they kicked me, Otis was always there to save me immediately.” He was on verge of tears. I could feel his pain and fear.

I now turned towards Otis, who was now getting up groaning. He was healing but not as fast as a normal werewolf. He looked at his brother now, and I can tell a silent understanding passed between them. They submitted to me and bowed down, ”Alpha.” I nodded to them satisfactorily, thinking I was at least able to help these two. I called my beta and told him “Have these two checked by the pack doctor. Show them to their rooms and have Maria feed them properly.” “well, Riley and Otis, welcome to Royal Blue Swan Lake pack.”

Turning around, I could then see, almost everyone of the pack members were there watching us. As soon as I welcomed the two boys, everyone cheered up quickly and almost everyone welcomed them wholeheartedly. I was really proud of my pack now. Despite the turn of events that happened, they were happy to help two people, who were wrongfully treated. Everyone started to disperse and now that everything was settled, Alex started to whine inside my head about his mate.

Even I wanted to meet her. Get to know about her, love her to the moon and back, mate with her and have pups. Oh, I had soo many things planned, when the idea of finding my mate came to me first. I wanted to do so many things, but today that didn’t happen. Tomorrow, I intend to make it happen. I was going to find my mate. Definitely. “And we will find her.” Alex said.

But for now, I was tired. I needed a shower so badly, that as soon as I went inside my pack house, I didn’t even bother about anyone. I went to my room, stripped and turned on the hot shower in the bathroom. My tense muscles relaxed under the hot water and god knows, how long was I there thinking about my mate, imagining how she would be or what I should do when I meet her and so on. Soon the hot shower ran cold and I turned it off. Wrapping a towel around my waist, I went into my walk in closet. I wanted to impress her on my first meet. So, I took time to set out what I should wear tomorrow, before grabbing my track pants and a t shirt. I glanced at the watch and noticed it was seven in the evening.

I knew, dinner would already be ready and my pack members would be there now. I decided to join them, but first, I wanted to talk to alpha Henry. I grabbed my phone and dialed his number.

“Hello”. I could hear a female voice.

“Hello, I’m Alpha George Oliver Woods speaking, can I talk to Alpha Henry please?”

“Just a second,”

“Hello, this is Henry speaking, what can I do for you George?”

“Alpha, I’m sorry about today. Our meeting didn’t happen due to the turn of events. I was hoping, if I could see you tomorrow?”

“Sure George, you’re always welcome.”

“Thank you Alpha.”

“Please George. Kindly call me uncle, at least when we’re not speaking formally. Your mother was mate’s sister. I feel comfortable at that.”

I smiled at his words. He was really very kind and was always not about titles, position or power. He actually acknowledged those, only when he was formally speaking.

“Ok uncle. Have a good night. I’ll see you tomorrow.” With that, I hung up and went downstairs.

To say it was noisy downstairs was an understatement, with around 100 pack members trying to eat and communicating with each other, it was chaos for me. And if all the 100 pack members were young and were in high spirits at the time, well imagine it yourself. Everyone was having a good time and I quickly joined them. I felt a need to lift my spirits up, right then, at that time. I ate and quickly went back to my room. I lied down on my bed, thinking about tomorrow, I drifted to sleep.

Tomorrow came very soon and Alex was excited again, that today we will definitely be meeting her, our mate. I showered and changed quickly and went downstairs to find my beta Jacob, sitting in the kitchen with his mate, uncle Henry’s daughter Rosalind. They were making out in the kitchen when I entered. Alex whined at the sight, thinking of the day, when he would be doing that to his mate. I cleared my throat, and they were embarrassed. I chuckled quietly and went to grab myself a sandwich and some juice from the fridge. I felt eyes boring into my back. Turning I saw Jacob looking at me keenly with questions all over his face. I reminded him that we were meeting alpha Henry today, because yesterday we couldn’t. He immediately gathered our warriors and after our breakfast, we set out to the castle.

As soon as we reached castle grounds, I could smell my mate close and I sprinted towards the direction. It was coming from the southern wing, where the training grounds were. I could hear pack members training hard. And from that place, I could smell my mate. What was she doing there, if she was only visiting? Who was she? Questions were running through my mind, when I reached the training area. What I saw next, turned my life entirely. There she was, my beautiful mate, whom I thought, I would never meet, in this lifetime. She had long brownish black hair, royal blue eyes, thick eyebrows, now knitted together as she concentrated, a slim and fit body with curves in all right places. She looked perfect. Alex was happily dancing in my head “mate, mate, mate.” But wait, I couldn’t smell her wolf. Oh, no. she was human. Not a werewolf. Damn!

“Don’t’ you dare to do anything to harm her.” Alex warned me. And he was about to say something else. But I cut him off. I didn’t give him a chance anymore. Why would I do that. She was my mate after all. I found her after a long time. Why would I harm her? But she was human. What was she doing here, and why was she here.
