Flashback

(Note: it's a long chapter)

Henry’s POV

After seeing Eleanor after all these years, brought back my memories with her father, my elder brother. Though she has seen me on multiple occasions, she was very young to even remember me. I had to bring her upto the speed and give her the throne that is rightfully hers. But there is something in her behaviour that is stopping me from doing that. I had to know what she has been doing all these years and why she was so far away from her pack, which she said was Full Moon Pack. She doesn’t smell rogue, so she hasn’t been kicked out of the pack or been banished, then what happened? When I looked at her, she was drowned in her own thoughts just I was. I quickly cleared my throat, and she focused on me.

I politely asked her, “Ms. Eleanor, I can assure you that you can trust me well, as your father did, but if you don’t mind my asking, what are you doing so far from your pack ?”

A flash of emotions sparked her eyes and it seems she was struggling within her either to speak up or not. So, I waited patiently for her to open up.

Eleanor’s POV

It was too much of information for me to process. I was drowned in my own thoughts processing what all has been said by Henry and a quick flashback, when my father used to have those said calls. I still remember him saying over the phone that if he didn’t call the other person, then they were no more.

“Yes, I would like that. Also, quickly make a report on that” my father said.

“Ok. I’ll call you again for our monthly meet, until then, be safe and keep me posted.”

“Papa!”

“El, what are you doing here dear? Is something wrong?”

“I couldn’t sleep.”

“Go to momma, I’ll be in a flash.” He smiled and patted me on my head.

“OK. I love you.” I said and came out of his office and closed the door, but I couldn’t just leave yet. There was something that stopped me from moving from there.

“Yes, she’s quite adorable and she’s the apple of my eye. I love her, but I have an intuition there might be something fishy going on. They are catching on our scents slowly. It wont be long, if they found out.”

There was a long pause before my father spoke up again.

“I know, we’ll be safe and have been keeping our guard up all the times. But still, if you don’t receive any call from me for our monthly meetings just know that we’re no more and El must be in jeopardy.”

I couldn’t believe my ears. The thought of my parents not being around scared me and I was in tears. I quickly ran away from there not knowing what happened next.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when Henry cleared his throat. Looking at him, something in me said that I could trust him. He was not danger.

Elina spoke up after a long silence, “I trust him, even if you don’t. you’ll know soon everything.”

What was that?

Henry spoke quickly, “Ms. Eleanor, I can assure you that you can trust me well, as your father did, but if you don’t mind my asking, what are you doing so far from your pack ?”. yes, what was I doing far away from my pack?

Again, I was pulled into my past.

“Nick, stay away from me.”

“Did you really think getting me arrested, will get you rid of me?”

As he said so, he quickly came forward, grabbing my wrist and twisting my arm, he slammed my head to the wall and said, “you can run as long as you want, but you can never get rid of me.”

Nick, Nicholas Philips, my high school sweetheart and elder son of alpha Philips, started being a jerk soon after he became the alpha. He was a playboy and slept with every slut in the pack. When I found it, I broke up with him.

That’s when he took me (no, he kidn*pped me) to the old industrial building in the outskirts of the forest and r***d me. I can never forgive him for that. After that, I escaped from the hell and found Alpha Philips. He contacted the human police and got him arrested, as the incident occurred in the human area and also since Nick had the building damaged so that no evidence could be found. 

“Get away from me.”  I screamed on top of my lungs.

“Never, my dear MATE.”

Yes, unfortunately I was his mate. But I never felt the connection strong. There was a pull, but not as strong as everyone said it’d be.

“GET. AWAY.FROM.HER” a voice so strong commanded that Nick cringed and released me immediately from his hold.

I was bleeding profusely where my head hit the wall and I began to see dark spots, slipping down the wall with my back, I looked up to see Alpha Philips, standing by the door. Entire pack was there assembled, as were in the pack’s main hall.

“I’m the Alpha here. You will not raise your voice against me!” Nick’s voice screeched.

“I challenge you, to take back my position. I, Philips Connor, challenge you Nicholas Philips Connor” alpha said.

“I accept.” With that Nick changed into his dark gray-black wolf and charged at his father pulling him out into the garden.

Alpha Philips too shifted into a midnight black wolf and being massive than his son’s wolf, Alpha Philips immediately got hold of his son’s neck, biting down and pushing him into a submissive position. But instead of submitting, Nick only fought more ferociously and soon a snap could be heard.

Nick’s lifeless body lay there on the grass, as everyone felt a sigh of relief leaving their lips. You could imagine how Nick has been as an Alpha with that.

Alpha Philips then gathered everybody back in the main hall and announced, “People, I apologize to each and everyone of you, who have suffered in the hands of my son. I also announce today, that Jonas, the kind-hearted son of our Beta Jake, will take over our pack in the ceremony two days from now. ”

He then turned towards me and said, “El, dear, are you alright?”

I was too stunned to focus on anything. I was overjoyed at the same time, I felt the pain as if someone has stabbed me in my heart. My wolf, Elina was howling in pain. But somewhere in my heart, I knew that the nightmare was over. I was healed by now and looked up from where I sat. Everyone were staring at me now with a look of sympathy in their eyes. I hated that.

I looked at Alpha Philips and an understanding passed between us. He held out his hand, helping me up and said,”Everyone’s dismissed, you can go back to whatever you were all doing. We will have the ceremony in two days. Jonas, Eleanor, to my office now.”
