Trials And Triumphs II

******Thelma's POV****** The tension and excitement of the event leave me exhausted, but I can’t stop smiling as we clean up the venue. The feeling of having turned a potential disaster into a triumph is intoxicating. As we walk back to our dorm, Liam, Meghan, and I chat about the show. “I still can’t believe we pulled that off,” Meghan says, shaking her head in disbelief. “I knew we could do it,” Liam replies confidently. “We make a great team.” “Thanks for having my back, guys. I couldn’t have done it without you.” I smile. Back in our dorm, I collapse onto my bed, too tired to move. Emily is already there, reading a book. “How did it go?” she asks, looking up with a smile. “It was amazing,” I reply, my voice filled with satisfaction. “We had a few hiccups, but we managed to turn it around.” I can't get my mind off Ava. I know she’s behind the sabotage, but I have no proof. I need to find a way to expose her for who she really is. The next morning, I wake up with a renewed sense of determination. I can’t let Ava get away with what she did. I need a fuc.king plan, something foolproof that will expose her true nature to everyone. As I get ready for the day, an idea begins to form in my mind. In our first class of the day, Professor Jameson is discussing the impacts of colonialism on modern societies. His lectures are always engaging, but today, my mind is elsewhere. I’m piecing together a plan to catch Ava in her own game. After class, I pull Liam and Meghan aside. “I need your help with something,” I say, my voice low. “What’s up?” Meghan asks,“I want to expose Ava. I know she sabotaged the fashion show, and I can’t let her get away with it.” Liam then asks me. “Do you have a plan?” “I’m working on it,” I admit. “But I need your help to set a trap.” That evening, we gather in the common room to brainstorm. “We need to create a situation where Ava will be tempted to sabotage something again,” I say, laying out my thoughts. “But this time, we’ll be ready for her.” “How about an event with Professor Jameson?” Meghan suggests. “He’s a respected professor in school, and if Ava gets caught sabotaging something he’s involved in, it’ll have serious consequences.” Liam nods. “That’s a good idea. Let's organize a mock debate or a small project presentation. Something that involves the professor directly.” I like the idea. “Yes, that could work. We must make it seem like an important event, something Ava would see as a perfect opportunity to paint me in a bad light.” We spend the next few hours hashing out the details. The plan is to organize a mock debate on a topic related to our coursework. Professor Jameson will be the judge, and the event will be open to the entire class. Ava won’t be able to resist the chance to make me look bad in front of everyone. It looks like the perfect trap. Let's just hope it goes well. ******************* The next few days, my friends and I spread the word about the debate, and soon, it’s the talk of the campus. I make sure to drop hints about how much this event means to me, knowing that Ava will be listening and getting her plans ready, that b***h. The day of the debate arrives, and everything is in place(I think). As students fill the lecture hall, I can feel the tension in the air. Ava is here, sitting with her usual group of friends, a smug smile on her face, she even has the nerve to wave at me....that fuc.king b***h. The debate begins, and it’s going smoothly. But for the first time during lectures, I’m not just focused on the discussion instead I’m watching Ava, waiting for her to make her move. As the debate heats up, I notice Ava whispering to one of her friends, who then slips out of the room. “Here we go,” I think to myself, trying to stay calm. I signal to Meghan, who follows the girl out. Liam stays close to me, ready to act if needed. A few minutes later, Meghan returns, a triumphant look on her face. “She’s in the professor’s office, messing with the notes and slides for your presentation,” Meghan whispers to me. “Got it,” I reply, my heart pounding. “Let’s catch her in the act.” I signal to Liam, and the three of us quietly make our way to Professor Jameson’s office. As we approach, we can hear Ava’s friend inside, shuffling through papers and whispering to someone on the phone. I burst into the office, Liam and Meghan right behind me. “What are you doing here?” I demand, my voice sharp. Ava’s friend Sarah freezes, her face turning pale. “I... I was just...” “You were just sabotaging my presentation,” I say, stepping forward. “And I bet Ava put you up to it.” Sarah stammers, but she doesn’t deny it. The evidence is clear. She’s been caught red-handed, and there’s no way out for her this time. “I’m definitely going to report this,” I say, feeling very triumphant. “I will not sit and watch you guys destroy my life and all for what?” The anger is back and rising really fast. “They are not getting away with it this time. You need to calm down” Megan says. As we leave the office, my heart is pounding, but I feel very victorious that Ava’s scheme has finally backfired, and I have the proof I need to expose her. The professor definitely needs to hear about this and fast.
