Because Ambrose no longer had an assistant to help him with his work, he decided to head over to the nearest city with Rene to the branch's offices so that he could get the work done for the day. I wasn't excited by the prospect of spending the day along while Ambrose was with his secretary, and I definitely wasn't keen on spending the day at the vacation house on my own. But it was something I had to understand.
Firstly, the secretary he was with earlier that day had left after Ambrose realized how foolish he had been with bringing her over. Not only did it a terrible effect on me, it posed as a threat for the plans the universe had for his relationship with mine.
