Stella closed the curtains, turned to Lucas, and said hurriedly, “I still have something to do at the office. I need to head back there now. You should go back too.”
“Sure. Can I have your phone number, Stella?” Lucas handed Stella his phone as he spoke, not giving her any chance to reject him at all.
Stella saved her phone number in his phone and returned it to Lucas. Then, she quickly packed up her things and left the house with Lucas. On their way out, her phone rang again. However, it stopped ringing after just one ring.
Stella was curious as to who it was. Then, she heard Lucas say, “There’s no need to check your phone. It was me. I just wanted to check whether the number you gave me was really yours or not.”
Stella laughed. Was Stella that untrustworthy? Stella thought to herself
