"Mum, dad, I'll be eighteen in three months. I can stay at home by myself for the entire summer!" I whined giving them the puppy dog eyes.
"Not a chance" mum said taking her purse from the table.
"Honey look, your uncle Russell is very wealthy and he's a busy man so you get to stay in a mansion alone and you can invite friends over" dad said patting my head.
"But dad.."
"We have to be sure an adult is watching you, Cammy. I know you are a big girl but it's not October yet so you are still our little Cammy Wally" mum said pinching my cheek.
"Don't call me that.." I said pouting, I knew fully well that I had no chance against my parents but there was still a little hope in my heart.
"Cammy, you are the one that asked us to go on this vacation" dad said carrying his and mum's bags.
"I know" I said quietly, "what if I call you guys every morning and night to show I'm ok, will you guys let me stay then?" I asked with the final ounce of hope in my heart.
"Nice try kiddo" dad said ruffling my hair, "we need full adult supervision and how can we stay on a vacation if you call us every day and night?"
"Ugh!, Fine" I groaned giving up.
"Is that a limo?" Mum asked and I looked at the driveway and actually saw a limo park there. A man in suit stepped out of the driver's seat and walked towards us.
"Good day Mr and Mrs Jones. Mr Russell asked me to come pick Miss Camilla" the man said in a British accent.
"Oh right" mum said, she was obviously lost the second she saw the limo, " Cammy dear, be a good girl and don't cause any trouble for your uncle" she said pinching my cheeks.
"Yes mum", I said. I felt like a little girl being sent to a boarding school.
"Call us if you need anything-" dad said but he looked at the limo, "-or not. Be safe and we love you honey".
"Love you too" I said to them and followed the man who was carrying my bags. He opened the backseat for me and I slid in. "Bye mum, bye dad!" I yelled with a little bit of tears clouding my eyes, what am I doing?
"Bye Cammy Wally!"
"Bye honey!"
The limo drove out and I kept on waving to my parents until they were out of my vision. Little did I know that this was the last of the normal life I have. This was going to be one heck of a summer vacation, I signed and looked at the houses and trees we passed.
