41 The first round of the new chemo had all the side effects of a placebo. The next round hit Esther hard. By Thursday morning, Esther couldn’t stand her discomfort any more. She went to see Dr Webster. “Rough week?” Esther groaned. “I’ve been throwing up every day, and this hand-foot syndrome means I keep dropping things and can’t sleep.” “We need to drop the dose.” Dr Webster scribbled in the notes.
