43 Esther felt odd. Weak and lethargic, as though all her blood had drained out of her body overnight. She staggered to the bathroom and threw up. Grabbing the door frame, she hauled herself upright. Something was wrong with her eyes. Black spots danced across her vision. Two lamps instead of one, two plants by the window, and two Bibles beside her bed. The multicoloured book spines in her bookcase merged, making her queasy. How hard could it be to take the four steps to the bed? Esther launched herself away from the door frame. Bad idea.
