Maral’s POV:
It was a really long day, I spent almost five continuous hours in the library doing research for our final project, maybe Lilli and I should have chosen a simpler project than electromagnetic fields? it’s just this is my second year in college and I really want to make something memorable, and to be quite honest I do like challenges, but today was really exhausting. I’ve had three lectures since morning and when I finally had a launch brake, Lilli and I were called to professor Dilly’s office to talk about our project, that took us two hours, after that Lilli left saying that she has something urgent to deal with, I didn’t argue with her for leaving the research process on me, I knew it must be something important otherwise she won’t leave, she is exited to finish this project as much as I am. Lilli and I have been friends since two years now, we’ve met on the first day I’ve arrived to New York City; we were both locking for a nice apartment to rent so we ended up as roommates as well.
As I climbed the stairs up to our apartment in the third flour, I checked my watch, it was eleven o’clock, Lilli likes to sleep early, so as reached the apartment’s door I tried to open it slowly so I wouldn’t wake her up, I stretched my arm to the light switch but before I could reach it the lights went on …
“Surpriiiiiiiiiiise” a lot of people screamed coming out of different places from the apartment.
“Happy birthday” said Lilli coming towards me with a big smile on her face.
I was shocked, today is my birthday?? I can’t believe I got caught up with everything that I forgot my own birthday!
I looked at Lilli smiling at her “thanks”
“I knew you would be surprised, the look on your face is priceless “she commented giggling
The next hour went on by greeting the guests mostly our classmates, and having small talks, I hate small talks, I’m not a very sociable person; I was dying to go to bed by now, my head is killing me, I went to the fridge to get a soda, I grabbed a can and drunk it at once, then I went straight to the roof trying to get some air while waiting for the guests to leave.
I was standing there staring at the sky admiring the stars ,its being a while since I had a peaceful moment like this, a few minutes later ,the stars started to look blurry, and I was feeling dizzy, I shook my head trying to get rid of it but it only got worse, I locked at the can I was holding on my hand, damn it ,it wasn’t a soda it was a beer, I got them mixed up, my tolerance to alcohol isn’t great, in fact it’s a zero, I can’t handle alcohol it all, it never bothered me so I just avoid it ,but right now I need to go back before I pass out, I tried to walk to the door leading to the stairs ,the floor looked like it was pulling away from me, I was walking very slowly and carefully but clearly not careful enough, cause the next thing I felt was my legs tripping on each other and then I felt the gravity dragging me to the ground, I closed my eyes waiting for the impact.
I opened my eyes slowly wondering why I haven’t hit the ground yet; the first thing I laid my eyes on were books ,lots of them, I turned my head to look at both sides, but all I can see was the damn books, it seems like a library, a very …. Odd ….library, those were the only words I could think of when I left my head looking up, the sealing was way too far up to see it, and it was glowing with purple and green colors, this place is so big, and all you can see is shelf’s filled with books of different sizes and colors. But what caught my attention was the stairs; they were linking every side from the library to the other.
I think I actually heat the flor on top of that roof really hard that I am dead right now, that is definitely the only explanation to all of this. Before I could think of anything else I heard a low whispering right behind my ear, I turned quickly to see who or what it was, nothing, I could swear I was the only one in this place, that thought made me shiver .I heard the whispering again, only this time it was coming from the darkness in front of me, the entire library was lid with weird lanterns held on the walls and somehow they seem to move on the walls following my movement, the lightning in this place was only enough to see two meters ahead of you, I was hesitating to follow the whispering but I can’t just stay still waiting for only god knows what to show up. I moved through the darkness step by step, the whispering got stronger as I got closer, I couldn’t understand the words but it seemed as if it was calling for me I just felt it, I kept walking until I got to a door, a very big one, mad out of metal, there was a writing on it but I couldn’t understand a single word from it, I just ignored it gazing at the key hole, it was on the shape of a shield, there is now way for me to open this door without its key, which obviously , I don’t have, I was thinking on going back, that’s when I heard the whispering from behind the door getting louder, I don’t know how I knew it, but I just turned the doors handle and the door went open without even having to push it ,which made me sigh, because pushing a door that heavy needs a lot of energy, but seriously who puts a fancy lock on a gigantic door if he’s not going to lock it.my thought chain brook when I saw what was inside that room, absolutely nothing except for a full body armor that captivated me, I don’t even know why ,I found myself walking strait to it, as if some sort of magnitude pulling me to it, I was captivated, I have never seen such a beautiful armor, its color was crimson and it had golden carvings, I couldn’t help the temptation any more , I held my hand up to touch it, I felt a tingling sensation on the tip of my finger as they got closer to it, and with only one inch left I felt a strong grip on my wrist pulling back my hand roughly, and as my heart stopped beating out of shock I heard a deep angry man’s voice coming right behind me
“How did you get in her thief??”
