07. Here comes the royalty

HANNAH

I picked up the pieces of food from the dirty ground, dusted it off slightly and ate. This could be my last supper and that thought gave me a shiver. Once again, I tried to break the chain and cuffs with my bare hands, but it was pointless. I could smell the burnt flesh of my hands, it would take too much time to heal such wounds.

He was gone for quite some time, and I had this naïve idea that he had forgotten about me. Wrong.

He entered the tent, and I almost got a heart attack when I saw a long leather whip in his hand. Holy Goddess, what did he want to do with me? But to my surprise, another male stepped inside the tent. Did he seriously take a company? Did they want to take turns or what? Goddess, please have mercy on my innocent, untouched body.

The other male was even taller and more muscular. He had dark blond hair and icy blue eyes that were so cold that he could freeze me with a single stare. He pierced me with those icy eyes, looking even angrier than the Alpha next to him. I scanned their faces properly to get any hint of what this was all about, when I noticed that they looked quite alike. Just the other guy was more…attractive?

“Anyone care to tell me what is going on?” I cleared my throat as they just kept staring at me and it was already too awkward.

“See? I told you she’s a disobedient piece of trash. I should teach her how to behave.” The Alpha spoke with disgust in his tone of voice and my face turned red. I was no trash.

“I beg your pardon. As far as I can see, you’re the one who should learn how to behave.” I hissed at him, and he growled, raised his hand high and whipped my legs with all his might. And the pain was unbearable. It was stabbing me all around my body, not just in my legs. A loud scream escaped my mouth and fresh tears formed in my eyes. He lifted his hand again, preparing to whip me more, when the other male roared in a powerful voice.

“That’s enough!” And Alpha obeyed. He obeyed… Hmm… Dang! The other guy must have been the King. “But brother…” The Alpha objected hesitantly, but the King cut him off with a single icy stare. Ha! I wanted to applaud the King but even I knew that could cause me more trouble. Therefore, me and Cleo had the little parade just in our shared mind.

“Is it true that you are from Yukon?” The King turned his gaze back to me, and it was suddenly too much for me. I gulped hard and only nodded. He was even more scary than his brother. His dominant aura was radiating all over the tent and I felt… I felt overwhelmed.

“An Alpha’s daughter, I presume?” And again, I nodded although I didn’t want to share such information with him. Just why was I intimidated by him?

“Hannah.” Cleo shook me by my shoulders, trying to get my attention. “Not now, Cleo. I need to focus.” I brushed her off and she objected. “But Hannah. It’s important.” And again, I only waved my hand at her. If we were about to escape, this was a unique opportunity. I had to convince this King to let me go. “Later.” I told her and she sighed sharply.

“How did you slip into my kingdom?” He raised another question.

“I am not sure. I was attacked by rouges. They were chasing me for a long time. They killed my boyfriend.” I didn’t know why I told him that. It was as if I was bewitched. Was he using any spells on me?

“A boyfriend?!” He growled and snorted at the same time.

“Brother, I told you. She’s just some regular Yukon wh0re. You shouldn’t pay much attention to her. I bet she is of no use to you.” My eyelids were twitching. Did he seriously call me that? But then I realized that he didn’t know that I was still innocent. So, I rather suppressed the strong urge to share my comments and remained silent.

“I disagree, Garrett.” Garrett. The Alpha-rapist's name was Garrett. Writing his name on the list of people I despised the most and whom I would be sending to the deepest pit of hell in my last will. “I think this is a unique and one-time only opportunity. So, yeah. I’ll take her.” Wait what?! Take me where?

“Hannah.” Cleo was pacing back and forth in my mind, waving her paws at me. “Hold on, Cleo. I must understand what the two of them are plotting here.”

“Excuse me Your Majesty, the almighty King of Alaska. I am afraid I agree with your dear brother here. I am not that important in my pack. In fact, I am the least favorite child in the family. Holding me hostage won’t bring you any benefit. Therefore, I suggest you just release me, and I’ll simply vanish from your lands forever. Sounds like a good plan, don’t you think?” I smiled politely, showing my white teeth to him and scanned his face for a reaction. But nothing. They both just stood there emotionlessly, and I coughed nervously. Then they exchanged looks and started to laugh out loud. Hm, at least I tried.

“Hannah!” Cleo barked at me, expressing her annoyance with me. “What?” I asked, shrugging my shoulders. “Would you finally listen to me?” I checked the two males next to me and they were still laughing, so I guessed I could chat with my wolf in the meantime. “Go ahead.”

“He is our mate.” She said the worst joke ever and I looked at Garrett, my face twitching in a painful grimace. Noooooo. Why that disgusting and abusive pig? I wanted to throw my head into a pillow and die out of sorrow. “Not him, silly. The other one.”

“You mean the King?” I arched my brow at her. Was she for real or just messing with me?

“The King.” She confirmed and I looked in the direction of my so-called mate. Our eyes locked and my pupils got larger as the realization hit me hard. Oh. My. Goddess. I swallowed the big lump that formed in my throat. Did he know, too?

“As I said, Garrett.” He broke eye contact and turned back to his brother. “She’s coming with me. Unchain her and send her outside. You have five minutes. And don’t even try to play with her. I forbid it.” He pointed his finger at Garrett, who responded with a frown, and then the King simply left the tent. And I couldn’t help it but grinned at Garrett, releasing an evil laugh. “Ha. Ha. Ha…”

Garrett growled angrily and wanted to whip me again, but he stopped in the middle of the movement. He took a key out of his pocket and got closer to unlock the chain and handcuffs.

“Feel free to laugh, you hussy. That stupid smile of yours will disappear from your pretty face as soon as you realize that you have been much safer with me than you’re going to be with him.” He smirked at me, grasped me by my arm and pushed me outside the tent. “Soon you’ll learn that all the stories you heard about the great Alpha King of Alaska are just fairy tales compared to the devil he is in reality.”
