Chapter 2  The smell of toast and eggs filled the air as Kevin began to stir. He reached over to find the space where his wife slept empty. He smiled as he threw the covers off him and swung his legs over the edge of the bed. He wiped his eyes and went to the bathroom. Once he finished washing his face and hands, he went back to their room to put on a pair of black slacks and a white short-sleeve blouse. He slipped his socks on and walked downstairs. He smiled at the sight of Clare bent overlooking in a cabinet. “I hope you never find what you are looking for in that pantry.” Kevin joked as he walked over and hugged her from behind. “I am sure you are the reason I can’t find what I am looking for in the first place.” She smiled. He walked over to the table after he kissed her lips. “I am headed off to work. Anything you need while I am in town.” He asked as he took a bite of his toast. “I made a list already. It’s under your hat.” She pointed without turning around. “Amazing.” He smiled at her. “I know.” She laughed as he grabbed his hat and tools. “I will be home before dark. Keep our guests’ company for me.” He smiled as he threw his things in the back of the wooden wagon and sat in the front. Clare smiled as she watched him drive off. Kevin waved with one hand before he got too far for her to see him. He rode slowly as he took deep breaths of the clean air. As he got closer to town, he greeted the passersby. Once he made it to an old wooden building, he placed the reigns on the wooden poll and pet his horse. “Hey, Kevin. Boss wants to see ya before you go in.” A short man spoke. “Thanks, Trevor,” Kevin spoke as he walked in the building and to the back office. “You wanted to see me, sir.” Kevin peeped his head in the office. “Come and have a seat.” The man gestured for the chair opposite him. Kevin took a seat and felt his stomach fall to his feet. Nerves began to boil and bubble in fear. He was hoping Albert wouldn’t have made a move so fast. “I heard about your incident with Albert. You and I both know that man will lie to his dying grandmother, but I can’t protect you from his father. I am here to help you, Kevin. You are my friend. Hell, you helped me open this building company. I have some jobs that are on the outskirts of the city. You need to keep your head low. His father is out for your blood. From what I heard, he said you were bewitched by these women. That they are witches and that they put a spell on you to shoot him. Now, I know there is more to it. I don’t need to know, but I thought you would want to know that David is not happy about his son being shot. He will be coming for you.” His boss spoke seriously, “Thank you, Al. I am sorry if it causes you to lose any business. I just couldn’t stand by and let Albert and his friends do what they were about to do. I will take what I can get. Thank you again, Al.” Kevin hugged the man and walked out of the office. He walked over to a young woman that was sorting through papers and she handed him his work list for the day. He sighed as he saw the distances between each job. He walked out and looked up at the sun hoping it would go easy on his already tanned skin.   Sweat beads rolled down his neck as he had placed the last of the wooden beams for the start of his newer project. He grabbed the towel hanging in his back pocket and wiped his forehead. The sun was beginning to set as he rode into town to pick up the items on Clare’s list. “Good afternoon Mary Beth. I have a long list today.” Kevin removed his hat as he walked into the store. “Your wife must be cooking every day. How is she?” Mary Beth asked. “Doing fine. She is getting better at her drawings. Thank you again for the papers. She barely sits ‘em down.” Kevin laughed as he watched the chubby woman move around the shop gathering all his goods. “That’s good. It gives you men more time to teach yourselves how to do the house chores. Let me know if she needs more drawing materials. I have a sister that lives in the city. Alright, here you are.” She laughed and called for her sons to take the groceries to the wagon. “Thank you. I will do just that.” Kevin spoke as he sat the money on the counter plus a little extra. “Why, thank you, Kevin. You tell Clare I said hi.” Mary Beth waved. “Will do.” Kevin smiled as he walked to his wagon and began his journey back up the hill to his home. He smiled as he got closer to the lodge and saw Clare sitting in the chair. He realized she was looking at something and followed his eyes to see the two women climbing the large oak tree not far from the house. He pulled the wagon off to the side and grabbed the baskets of groceries. He walked to the house and saw the worried look on his wife’s face as she grabbed some of the food and walked inside. “Clare, honey, what’s wrong?” Kevin sat the food down and looked at her. “Well, they have not eaten since they got here. I made breakfast and lunch. Both of which they refused. They were polite about it, but it worries me. What if there is something wrong with their insides? Maybe we should send word to Doctor Shepard.” Clare bit at her nails as she looked out the window where she could see them. “Well, did you ask them why they didn’t want to eat?” Kevin saw the blush sneak up her pale skin. “No.” She whispered. “Well, when they come in, we will sit down and have a talk. Does that sound good to you?” Kevin walked over and wrapped his strong arms around her. “That would make me happy. Thank you.” She stood on her tippy toes and kissed him deep with love and passion. Kevin’s mind melted as he deepened their kiss and moved his hand up to the back of her neck. They broke apart slowly looking into each other eyes with matching smiles. “Are we interrupting?” Ariona asked softly. “No, of course not.” Clare stepped back and readjusted her dress and blushing profusely. “We would like to talk to you both about why you aren’t eating. We know you have gone through a lot and we do not want to push you, but we are worried about your health and well-being.” Kevin sat on in the chair near the table. Kevin’s words shocked Ariona. She could see and feel his fear and worry. Her heart broke as she realized that she had been keeping them at a distance when all they wanted to do was help. She sat down as well with Beriasa not far behind her. “I will be honest with you because you have done the same for us. Not only did you save us, but you have also housed us. For those things, you deserve the truth. I am Ariona Velakes Korveus, High Priestess of Thay Ora. We are not from here. We are not from Earth. I came here on the orders of Thay Ora. She wanted to see if humankind had yet to open their minds. This is not the first time that she has done this. I was on my way to tell her that it was safe up until yesterday’s events. We refuse your food because it is unsafe for us to eat. It would do more damage to our wounds than good. Beriasa is my niola. She is like my assistant. I am superior. I do apologize for not telling you the truth, but I had to be certain that I would not be putting her in any more danger.” Ariona spoke with all her confidence, feeling free enough to not have to play the timid role. Clare and Kevin both wore equally disbelieving and confused expressions. “You aren't human?” Kevin asked skeptically thinking that Albert and his goons did more damage to the women than he originally thought. “No, we aren’t, and I know this is very hard for you all to believe so,” Ariona spoke than pausing and with a raise of her hand signaled for Beriasa came to stand in front of the couple. “Beriasa you are to reveal yourself for me.” She finished. Clare and Kevin both started to protest believing that Beriasa was about to undress in front of them, but their protests fell on their lips when Beriasa began to glow a haunting cerulean blue. The couple watched on, eyes wide and mouths open in shock, as Beriasa levitated off the ground, her hair spreading out around her becoming crystal clear water, her already pale skin becoming paler like alabaster with a hint of powder blue, and her eyes turned the same cerulean blue that surrounded her with teardrops coming out of her eyes. They crystallized on her cheeks, her dress disappeared and, in its place, was a white wrap that started at the top of her breasts and ended in the middle of her stomach. On her waist was a flowy, white skirt with a slit up to her right thigh, and lastly on her arms and up to the top of her neck where navy blue swirling marks, some thick and others thin, yet each one beautiful and distinct. When her transformation was complete Beriasa landed back on the floor and the glowing aura disappeared. She shyly looked at the couple that had shown such kindness to them and held her breath as she waited for them to react. “So, do you believe me now?” Ariona asked hiding her worry with an amused tone. “You are beautiful.” Kevin and Clare both snapped out of their shocked states and spoke at the same time, their voices full of admiration, Beriasa sighed in relief, smiled brightly, then turned back to Ariona awaiting her next order. Ariona also smiled at her young niola and with a nod signaled for her to return to her human guise. In a bright flash that caused Kevin and Clare to shield their eyes until it was over, Beriasa returned to the blonde girl they had become a custom to seeing and sat down beside her lady. “So, what exactly are you Beriasa?” Clare asked still in awe. “Well, I'm what is known as an Aqura Nemen. In your language, it would translate to a water nymph. I am a being that is in tune with water and all properties of it. I can bend it to my will and can use it to do things like cloak myself and attack an enemy. I can also heal with it when I'm at full strength but since I'm not it's taking longer than I'd like to get well.” “What about you Ariona? Are you a nymph, like Beriasa?” Kevin asked curiosity laced in his tone. “No, I'm a Jasmian,” Ariona answers with a small smile, studying the couple for any ill intentions. “Can we see how you truly look as well? If that is not too much to ask.” Kevin asked with a tilt of his head reminding all the women of a curious cat. Ariona nodded her head and rose from her seat and stood where Beriasa formerly stood. Her skin began to take on a golden glow and she let out a peaceful sigh. Her skin took on a more sun-kissed quality, and her short hair grew until it just touched the tops of her shoulders while a gold thin jewel piece appeared starting in the center of her forehead and ending in the middle of her hair. Her emerald eyes glowed brightly and looked like glittering gemstones. A white mark covered her eyes like tribal face paint. In the place of her yellow dress was a light lavender, one-shoulder Grecian styled dress with gold jewels adorning the shoulder, there was a slit on the right side of her dress that started at the top of her hip giving her an erotic sort of look, and to complete the transformation in place of her once human feet were what appeared to be dragon’s feet. They were large but fit her height perfectly. The scales were black like hair, but you could see hints of lavender between each scale. She had three clawed toes; her hands were still human, but her nails looked sharper. They were black as well, but the tips were lavender. She stood a foot taller than in her human disguise. When her transformation was done, she smiled at the couple and revealed a brilliant smile with two fangs, long, sharp, and deadly. The couple stared shocked. Where Beriasa looked otherworldly and light, Ariona looked dangerous and yet she still held this grace and unparalleled beauty to her. She looked like someone with power, like royalty. “What do you think?” She asked the couple when a minute passed, and they had yet to speak. “You look royal, powerful and dangerous, and yet, I feel at peace. I know that you are good, light, holy even, does that make sense?” He asked. Ariona smiled and nodded then looked at Clare waiting for her to reply. Luckily, she didn't have to wait long because instead of speaking like her husband Clare walked up to Ariona and hugged her tightly. “Thank you, thank you so much for trusting us enough to show us your true selves. I promise your secrets will be safe here.” Clare wiped a stray tear from her face. Ariona was shocked, she had not expected this from the woman and looked at Kevin silently asking what to do. The man in question smiled at the two women. He was so proud of his wife. She was so kindhearted, she cared for everything and everyone, never wishing ill will, and this just proved it further. Kevin nodded at the shocked Ariona before speaking. Giving her permission to hug his wife back. “She's right ya' know. You have friends here and you always will.” Kevin smiled. Ariona nodded, hugged Clare back tightly, and then stepped back to return to her human form. Clare smiled and sat down next to Kevin while Ariona sat next to Beriasa. Everyone was at peace and truly didn't want to break the calm that came now that the truth was out in the open, but they all knew it had to be because there were still things that needed to be discussed. “So, Lady Ariona, what is it you can do? And what can we do to nourish you two because it can't be good that you haven't eaten yet.” Clare asked breaking the silence. “Dear Clare as you said we are friends here. You do not have to call me lady. I am a Jasmian, which is a Jasmine in your tongue. I am a being of pure energy. I can transform into light or into what is called a dragon in your tongue. I can manipulate and feel the energy and the souls of others. As I am the High Priestess of Thay Ora, I can speak directly to the goddess and she is able to speak and see through me. As for us eating, I have an idea of how we could, but I would have to read your soul Clare, as you are the one who prepares the meals.” Ariona looked into Clare’s blue eyes. Clare looked at Kevin and he nodded his consent, curious about what went into a soul reading. Clare nodded her consent as well, though nervous about what Ariona would find. Ariona smiled and got out of her seat. She walked up to Clare and placed both of her hands on each side of her face gently as if she were cradling a baby. Ariona looked deeply into Clare’s eyes and smiled. Clare looked up at her afraid of losing eye contact, not knowing if this was the reading. Ariona smirked as she leaned down and placed her full lips on Clare’s soft one. Both Clare and Kevin's eyes widened in shock, while Clare’s hands were up in the air afraid to push away. A white light appeared around the two women that grew more and more intense the longer their kiss lasted. Ariona deepened the kiss but was mindful not to go too far. When Clare closed her eyes to kiss back slightly, Kevin's eyes looked as if they would fall out of his head. He found the sight to be very appealing though he didn't understand why. Clare’s hands went to Ariona’s shoulders as she melted further into the kiss. She couldn’t explain the feeling she was having. It was something she had never experienced. She felt a sense of grace and tranquility. She felt like she was wrapped in a protective light. After five more seconds the light faded and Ariona broke the kiss. She stared at Clare as she opened her eyes. Clare’s cheeks turned a bright red as she looked at the woman before her. “Umm, so what did you find in my soul?” She nervously asked trying desperately to compose herself. “You kissed my wife. Why'd you kiss my wife?” Kevin asked in a daze, looking back and forth between the two women, while Beriasa lifted her hand to cover her amused smile. Ariona went and sat in her seat again before she spoke to the couple. “Kevin the reason I kissed Clare is that I have to have an intimate connection with a person when I read their souls. It is a time where lying is very difficult to do. Your heart’s goals and secrets are open in those moments of intimacy. Just as two mates consummate their union through s*x, I can read a person’s soul through a kiss. As for what I found, Clare you have one of the purest souls I've ever had the pleasure of reading on your planet. You have a truly kind heart and soul and because of it you'll definitely be able to help Beriasa and I eat and heal.” Ariona smiled slightly. “What would I have to do?” Clare asked, her blush went and head once again back in the moment. “You can go about cooking meals as you normally would but when you make me and Beriasa’s portions you would have to prick your finger and add four drops of your blood into each bowl. You are so pure that your blood would cleanse the food enough that we can digest it and use it as nourishment to gather our strength. Food on your planet is sadly not compatible with ours, there are toxins in them that harm us. So, if you are willing that is how we will be able to eat.” Ariona explained. “Of course, I'll do it, especially if this is the only way for you two to eat.” Clare thought it over quickly, then nodded her head in consent. Beriasa unable to hold herself back jumped up and hugged Clare in a tight embrace. “Thank you! Thank you so much!” she exclaimed after releasing Clare, who giggled at the young woman's antics. “Darlin' before I forget we may be having some problems with Albert and David Minkens sooner than I thought.” Kevin shook his head amused and then turned to his wife. “What has that fool gone and done now?” Clare asked with her hand on her hip. “Apparently, Ariona and Beriasa here, are witches that have bewitched me into trying to kill Albert,” Kevin says exasperated and crossing his arms against his chest. “Al gave me the heads up when I went into work this morning, he's helping me stay low by giving me jobs that are more on the edge of town. Though we both know if those Minkens men can't get to me in town they will come here starting all sorts of trouble.” Kevin spoke with a hint of despair. “I swear that Albert Minkens is just spoiled rotten. His papa shoulda' been setting him straight when he was making trouble as a youngin' instead of bailing him out and praising him like a saint. If they come here lookin' for trouble we'll just set them on the correct path, quickly.” Clare exclaimed passionately, fire burning in her blue eyes. Kevin smirked at Clare, knowing that if anybody could fix a problem and scare a man like David Minkens it'd be her. He kissed her cheek lightly and wrapped his arms around her in a comforting embrace. “I am so sorry, we should go. We seem to be bringing nothing but trouble to your doorstep and that was never our intent.” Ariona spoke worriedly while getting out of her seat and signaling for Beriasa to get up as well. Kevin and Clare broke apart and each one got up, placed their hands on the shoulders of the two women, and gently pushed them back down. “Now see here, you aren't bringing trouble to our door. None of this was your fault and until you are both in tip-top shape, you'll be staying here. If Albert and his father show up here looking for trouble, we will handle it like we always do. Now y'all sit here and relax. Clare's gonna go get dinner ready and I'm gonna go get cleaned up since I had a long day at work, alright?” Kevin asked, and when the two women nodded, he gave a nodded of confirmation, smiled, and went to the bathroom upstairs. Ariona sat back with Beriasa. They watched the woman in the kitchen. “Excuse me Lady Ariona. I would like to take this time to go to my studies.” Beriasa spoke timidly. “That is fine young one. Go, I will call you when supper is ready.” Ariona smiled as the short blonde walked up the stairs. Ariona walked to the kitchen to watch closer. She saw Clare as she chopped a few vegetables. Clare smiled over her shoulder as she saw the large woman standing in the doorway. “It is strange to see humans have adapted so well without magic and a lot of things that I have grown accustomed to. It is amazing.” Ariona looked down at her feet as she crossed her arms. “Your demeanor seems different.” Clare noticed as she took a moment to really look at the tall woman. “I am just relieved to finally have a found a human with an open mind. You both are so very accepting. It is a breath of fresh air, as you would say.” Ariona looked Clare in the eyes. “Well, that is good. Would you be a dear and fetch the others for supper.” Clare smiled as she grabbed a needle from the hem of her dress. “Not a problem,” Ariona spoke as she left. Clare looked back to ensure Ariona had left. She had never caused harm to herself on purpose. She looked at the pen and to her fingers. She looked back again and then to the two portions of food that belonged to the two women. She sighed, placed the needlepoint to her fingertip, and looked away as she applied pressure to the needle. Clare felt it press through the top layer of her skin. When she looked back blooded was running from her finger. She hurried to drop four drops in each portion before she heard them all coming down the stairs. As she turned around, she was met with smiles from her new family. She sat the bowls down in front of the respective person as she took the seat next to her husband. “This is very delicious,” Beriasa spoke after wiping her mouth. “Thank you. I am so glad you like it.” Clare gleamed as she finally began to eat her own food. “It is alright.” Ariona saw the look on Kevin’s face. The look of curiosity that most humans had once they found out that they were not the only beings of existence. “What do you mean?” Kevin asked with a clueless expression on his face. “You both want to ask questions. It as alright to do so. There is no need to sit and not ask questions. I feel it will keep supper entertaining and light.” Ariona spoke. “I understand now. Well, we are a bit curious. We just don’t want to pry and push too deep into your personal lives.” Clare looked down at her bowl slightly embarrassed at how obvious they were. “We will always let you know if we cannot answer you.” Ariona smiled before taking another spoonful of her food. “Well, if that’s the case. I do have a few questions. How many times have you traveled to Earth?” Kevin asked enthusiastically. “We have been here a few times. I myself have been here four times before this. It was to help the few humans that knew of us and to bless newborns to this world.” Ariona swallowed. “This is my first time to Earth. My parents never really liked the thought of traveling here. They had to accept my travel here due to my duties to Lady Ariona.” Beriasa spoke. “That is amazing. What is your homeworld like?” Clare asked excitedly. “It is a beautiful place. It is impossible to speak it into words. If Lady Ariona will allow me to extend an invitation to visit our home.” Beriasa blushed. “I would not be opposed to giving them an invitation.” Ariona smoothed Beriasa’s hair. “Are you two……together?” Kevin asked. “We are not mates. I am her superior and I can soothe her fears and insecurities with physical contact. The day she became my niola or as you would say, assistant. We were given a bond to each other up until the time she finds her mate.” Ariona spoke, sitting straight in her chair. “Who is Thay Ora and what is she like?” Clare asked before Kevin had a chance to intervene again. “She is the mother of us all. She is the one that created us. She created the Gods and Goddess that created most of us. She is an amazing Goddess. She is loving and understandable.” Beriasa spoke fondly of Thay Ora. “She sounds amazing.” Clare smiled. “How old are you both?” Kevin asked as Clare began to glare at Kevin. “You are never to ask that of ladies Kevin. Where are your manners?” Clare spoke harshly. “It is alright Clare. I have no problem with the question. I am 568 years old and Beriasa has just turned 361 years old. She has just become a teenager this past month.” Ariona smiled as Beriasa blushed. “That is amazing. Congratulations Beriasa. It is amazing the way you both age.” Clare smiled as she took another bite of her food. “So, are either of you married?” Kevin blurted out. Clare laughed slightly as she shook her head at her husband. “We are not mated yet. I hope to be very soon, but I can’t rush things with my submissive.” Ariona smirked at the thought of her intended mate. “What do you mean by submissive?” Clare spoke with curiosity and confusion on her face. “Just as humans we are born male or female, so are we. The only difference is that we are also born submissive or dominant. Thay Ora made it this way to have ordered yet still have equality. She also did it to make sure that all couples can have children of their own. She gave submissive the upper hand by letting us be the ones to tell when we have found our mate. For example, I am a submissive, so I am born a bit smaller and curvy. I am also built with the ability to produce offspring. Lady Ariona is a dominant female, so she is built bigger for force and strength. It is harder for her to become impregnated. It can happen if that is what the dominant wants to do, but normally the submissive does it so that the dominate can protect and care for them.” Beriasa explained without breaking eye contact. “That is amazing. I never knew that there was another large world that was capable of so much and that is more advanced then we are. We are so glad to have met you both.” Clare smiles as she finished the last of her food. “If you would allow, I would like to assist you in your cleaning,” Beriasa spoke softly. “Yes. That would be lovely.” Clare smiled as she watched Beriasa collect the other items. “Thank you again for trusting us with such important information. I know it can’t be easy trusting strangers after your encounter here.” Kevin spoke to Ariona as they both walked to the living area. “It is hard to do so, but it is very necessary. Though we are different, I find similarities in some humans like you and your wife.” Ariona spoke honestly. “I am glad to have been the one to find you. We are both grateful to be of some help.” Kevin smiled. “Thank you. If you will excuse me. I shall retire to do my prayers before it is time to rest.” Ariona spoke. “Of course, we will see you in the morning.” Kevin smiled as Ariona turned to walk up the wooden stairs. “Good night Kevin and Clare.” Beriasa bowed slightly before also going up the stairs. Clare looked up at Kevin and kissed him passionately. Kevin placed his hand on the nape of her neck, deepening their kiss. He smoothed the backside of her dress as he spun her to have her back facing the wall next to a window. She wrapped her arms around his neck as his hands traveled below her waist. “Kevin, I believe we should be taking this to our room. No need to scare our guests away.” Clare giggled. “That I can agree to.” Kevin smiled as he picked her up and she wrapped her legs around his taut torso. She blushed as she placed her head in the crook of his neck. She felt him ascending the stairs. When she looked up the door to their bedroom was closing. He pressed her back to the wall and kissed her neck. She sucked in an anticipated breath as her head fell back in a light thud against the door. He moved them to the bed and placed her back on the white sheets. He placed a kiss on her neck and trailed it down to her breast. She arched into him as he held them both in the palms of his hand. Kevin sat her up to slip her yellow sundress over her smooth skin. Clare looked into his eyes and leaned in to kiss him. He gave her a slight push back to the bed as he removed his shirt. Kevin ghosted his fingers off her flat stomach. He smiled at her tremor as he dipped back down to her breast to take the right one in his lips. Kevin suckled light as she trailed her nails down his back. Clare smiled at the hum of approval that came from his lips. His tongue played over her n****e like a pleasant breeze. Clare arched again as his teeth lightly grazed over her n****e before slipping over to the other. Giving it the same amount of love and attention. He leaned back to remove the rest of their clothing. Kevin couldn’t contain the smile that spread across his face as he gazed down at the beautiful woman beneath him. His lips trailed over her stomach as his hands glided down her sides. Clare’s lips parted slightly as she took in a sharp intake of breath. Her heart skipped a beat as he parted her thick creamy thighs. Kevin placed a gentle kiss to her inner thighs before dipping down into her wet heat. His tongue caressed her inner folds as he held tight to her round cheeks. Clare’s head fell to the side as her vision began to go blurry. She moaned out his name as Kevin delved deeper. “Kevin…. please.” Clare finally forced out. He chuckled as he lifted his head to see her pleading eyes. Clare pulled his head to hers and placed their lips together. He cradled her head in the crook of his arm as he slowly slid into her warmth. Clare’s mouth fell open in a silent moaned as he bottomed out. She clawed at his back and he moaned into her neck. Kevin’s pace was slow and methodical. Their bodies moved in unison as the crisp night air rolled in from the open window. Breathy moans and skin moving over the sheets filled the room. Kevin’s pace since speeding up to match their rapidly beating hearts. “Kevin…… so close.” Clare exhaled. “Me too. I love you so much.” Kevin whispered as his climax started in the pit of his stomach. Kevin’s placed his left hand on the wooden wall as he gripped her waist and his pace became erratic. Clare’s moan of release muffled by Kevin’s lips over hers. His climax followed behind her with a low growl that resonated from deep within his chest. “I love you too.” Clare smiled in bliss with her eyes shut. Kevin smiled as they both drifted into a peaceful sleep unaware of the trouble in the wind.
